Nigel walks around the facility, looking for a place to sit in and dream of his life with his Alpha. He has been thinking and dreaming about this ever since he bump to his Alpha two days ago.

He even asks his secretary to buy him new scents for his humidifier. Those scents that resembles his Alpha so he will feel safe. The scent of calmness inside of his office is making him wish that he is not that scared to confront his Alpha.

It is not that he is scared of the Alpha hurting him, but he is reluctant to let the Alpha inside his life. He has been protecting this life for forty years and then will be ruined by just some Alpha that happens to be his life mate.

He doesn't want that. Nigel wants to have a fruitful life with his Alpha. Something that people will get jealous from. The life that he has been wanting to have every since he and Alfred broke up back in university.

Nigel sighs as he looks outside of the facility and into the sky. Seeing how much freedom that the birds have is making him jealous of it. He is not a prisoner of his job, per se.

But sometimes, his job is taking a toll of his mental and physical health. He is always tired and busy. He sometimes forgets what day is today or did he even eat lunch. That is Nigel's usual routine.

And all of that changes when he met Primo after Aiden's operation. When the Alpha calls on to his name and calls him his "mate". Every routine that he does before are now thrown out of the window and into the trash.

He starts buying things that he once looks at them with disgust. The green leafy vegetables that he once hated is now entering his system and cleansing every toxins that he has from eating junk foods.

The weights that he once hated looking at or even using at, is now pumping his muscles to stay focus, have the best discipline and gain those muscles that he needs before presenting himself to his mate.

The Omega doctor is now doing all sort of things that he never imagine himself from doing. He eats healthy and do exercise regularly. He even hired a personal trainer so he can be disciplined with everything that he needs to do.

He never knew meeting his mate will make him change drastically. If he knew that he will be doing these things before he even met his mate, he will be shaking his head and will not believe anything that his future self tell him.

"It will sound too absurd."

And Nigel had never have any moment that is too absurd. He usually never cared about these things before but here he is now, doing things that will make him cussed at himself.

"What am I doing? Why am I doing this? Why am I putting so much effort to make myself looks presentable in front of my Alpha? Will he even care if I am pretty enough or even good enough?

Why am I getting depressed to such trivial things?"

The Omega sighs as takes his phone out of his pocket and scrolls down through his social media feeds while trying to erase the pain that he is feeling whenever he thinks of his Alpha.

Moments later, a tap on his shoulder made him look behind him and sees his ex-lover, Dr. Alfred. He waves at him and gives him a smile while Nigel tries to calm his beating heart before he could beat up Alfred for scaring him.

"You scared me, you useless prick!"

Alfred dodges the Omega's punch to his shoulder and chuckles at his antics. The Alpha moves away for a minute before walking towards him and sitting beside the Omega. Nigel look at the Alpha in disgusts and moves a meter away from him before settling down to his position.

"What do you want? Why are you here? I am not in heat."

Alfred looks at the Omega before chuckling again. He shakes his head and proceeds to take his phone out and calls one of his nurses. Nigel watches him converse with the nurse and rolls his eyes.

He stands up from the chair and is about to go away when Alfred caught the hem of his robe, stopping him from moving away from the Alpha.

"What?!"

The Alpha flinches at how loud the Omega's voice is and stands up from where he was sitting. He lets go of the Omega's robe and looks at him straight in the eyes.

"Come with me. Let's go somewhere to ease your worries about your Alpha."

The Omega looks at him and is about to answer when Alfred walks past by him and drags him to the floor where his office is located. The Omega tries to stop the Alpha but Alfred looks straight and walks straight to that floor.

In the end, the Omega cannot do anything but follow the Alpha and hopes that this place will legitimately ease his worries about his Alpha. They walk the painted white walls and the tiled floor to his office.

His unfading smile shines bright as the light from the ceiling hits his face and its making the Omega rethink of his decision of dating the latter before. If he will think it further, he will need the whole day to spent just by doing so.

They stop at a room that is adjacent to his office and the Omega looks at the Alpha badly and stares at him for a long time. He can't quite understand why they are here until the Alpha nods his head towards the door.

"ROOM 5449"

Nigel stares at the room number before peeking through the small window that is placed right above the door knob. He blinks his eyes to see clearly and gasps when he sees who is inside.

Lean and muscular in physique, small waist yet his arms are as big as the Omega's face. The lavishing sweat that surrounds the Alphas body is making the doctor wet. His cheeks show a little blush and he can't help biting his lower lip.

Alfred chuckles at Nigel's reaction and clears his throat.

"According to the nurses here, I think he asks for some scent blockers so he can work out freely and not bother other dynamics. He wants to make sure that his body is ready for anything that can happen when you guys meet, at last.

He wants to make sure he can protect you. So, for the meantime, don't worry too much. Your Alpha is okay. You should be, too."

Alfred is right. Nigel needs to calm down in his worrying and focus with his tasks. His Alpha is alright and he should not worry about him at all. Probably.
