My Master Is A Tsundere Chapter 55

"Are you ready?"
Rant Valo asked Floriana Sabina. Floriana Sabina nodded her head and Rant Valo closed his eyes. Rant Valo thought of the words that were written in the cultivation manual. This would be the first time that Rant Valo would use it.
"Tide of Bad Fortune!"
Rant Valo pushed both of his hands towards the barrier where Floriana Sabina was and the mana within his body flowed through his mana channels in a predetermined path. When it all came out of his hands, it was like a gush of water in a spring.
The white gush of mana hit the first barrier and passed through it without care. It continued onward like an unstoppable force. It passed through all the barriers and hit Floriana Sabina. Floriana Sabina didn't flinch when the white mana hit her but she felt odd.
Rant Valo's mana wasn't supposed to pass through all of her barriers. What's more, is that there doesn't seem to be any damage in any of it. Floriana Sabina looked at Rant Valo confused. Rant Valo looked back at her with the same confused expression. Even he wasn't sure what happened here.
Suddenly, the first barrier shattered into pieces like broken glass and dissolved into red mana that flowed downward before scattering into the air.
"Am I that weak?"
Rant Valo felt his confidence take a hit when he saw that all of the other barriers were basically untouched. He expected to at least break through 5 barriers since his cultivation is already at the 5th Mana Condensation stage. He closed his eyes to try again. This time he was serious.
But before he could gather his mana to attack again, the second barrier broke like glass. It was similar to what happened to the first barrier earlier. Rant Valo looked at the barriers in confusion.

"Master, what is happening?"
"I-I'm not sure, but I didn't feel the barrier expending any energy. It just broke apart without any warning. As if my magic just failed."
Floriana Sabina explained. She was also confused about what was happening. She was sustaining the barrier with a small amount of mana and usually, when an attack hits a barrier it would trigger a huge consumption of her mana. Even if her mana capacity is large, her mana consumption didn't change at all.
This was similar to how when sustaining a magic technique. Some Magic Cultivators would be unable to keep their magic techniques up for less than a minute. And then the magic technique would collapse easily and the mana would dissipate into the air. It was exactly that, but even more confusing as Floriana Sabina was sure that her control over her mana was very good.
She was already a high-stage cultivator and the magic technique that she just used was something that only Mana Condensation cultivators would use. That's why the barrier wasn't white like her flame but orange. It was far weaker than her real strength.
"Try again, Disciple."
Floriana Sabina suggested to Rant Valo. Rant Valo nodded his head. Seeing that no more barriers break, he wanted to try it again to see if anymore would break. Rant Valo closed his eyes but before he could do anything further, the third barrier broke too. It was similar to the last two.
The fire element mana in the surroundings was getting concentrated from the failing magic technique of Floriana Sabina. Floriana Sabina closed her eyes and tried to feel if she was doing anything wrong. It was too odd for her to fail a Mana Condensation magic technique three times.
Rant Valo didn't close his eyes this time but waited. This time the fourth barrier also broke. It was like a very slow domino process. Rant Valo felt that this magic technique was too slow if that was the case.

"Wha-!"
Floriana Sabina exclaimed in shock. She saw it clearly as she was closing her eyes and feeling her mana. She saw her mana fail uncontrollably. It was like a stronger force bent it to failure.
"What happened, Master?"
Rant Valo asked her in puzzlement. He suddenly saw her exclaim. It was like she was given the shock of her life. Floriana Sabina swallowed her saliva nervously before looking at Rant Valo.
"My mana failed out of my control!"
There was a look of disbelief on Floriana Sabina's face. Rant Valo was bewildered. Even though he didn't know much about cultivation, as a citizen of a Magic Kingdom, he knows that mana is basically in full control of the user.
Veia was looking at the side bored. She couldn't really understand anything that was happening. She was just focused on looking at her master. He was as dazzling as ever.
The trio waited for a while more and the fifth barrier broke as well. It took a lot longer than the last one.
"Is this the effect of my magic technique?"
Rant Valo grabbed the cultivation manual and looked at it in wonder. This could be the only plausible reason as he only used it on the barriers. If so, then it means that it does work, but it was still too slow to Rant Valo's liking.
"I think that's all it, right?"
Floriana Sabina said with a sigh. Rant Valo's cultivation is only at the 5th Mana Condensation. She wouldn't expect it to be able to break the other barriers anymore. She tried to dissipate the barriers but nothing happened.
"Master?"
Rant Valo asked after noticing Floriana Sabina frowning. Floriana Sabina tried to dissipate the barriers again but nothing still happened.
"I- I can't dissipate them at all!"
Floriana Sabina shouted in extreme shock. She never encountered something like this before. The barriers continued sucking a constant stream of mana out of her to sustain their forms but she couldn't control them at all. It was like someone else was controlling her barriers.
"I will disconnect them!"
Floriana Sabina disconnected her mana from the barriers and what happened next shocked her. It was unlike all of the logic she has known about mana at all.
