My Master Is A Tsundere Chapter 87

"I-I see. It must be hard on you being a cultivator."
Rant Valo stuttered. It was hard for him to wrap his head around a little girl saying 'normal mortal'. After all, it was not every day that he would hear something like that.
"Mmm. After realizing that the boss would be giving us jobs, I became curious. It turns out it's really enjoyable."
Floriana Sabina explained with a smile. This task was entirely different than what she normally does as a cultivator. It was sort of relaxing, even.
"Alright, I have to go now."
Rant Valo bid his farewell to her at the counter and entered the kitchen.
The two did their jobs until dawn. The boss looked at them as they both stood in front of him and, with squinted eyes, studied their facial expressions.
"For your diligence and no attempt to escape. I would not be pursuing what you just did today. If I ever found out about it next time, even if it was from a different restaurant from mine, I would make you work for a week without rest. Understand!?"
The boss was like a drill sergeant as he threatened them with a solemn face. Rant Valo nodded his head repeatedly in panic while Floriana Sabina nodded her head lightly.
Now that he talked about it, she felt like experiencing a week working as a mortal. Just working for the whole afternoon was not enough to satisfy her desire to try out being a normal mortal.
"You may leave."
The boss declared, and Rant Valo pulled Floriana Sabina away from that place. He didn't want to work for a week straight without any compensation.
Rant Valo pulled Floriana Sabina far away until they couldn't see the restaurant anymore. Only then did Rant Valo stopped pulling onto Floriana Sabina. He rested his hands on his knees as he panted heavily.

"Hmph! Why did you pull me with you?"
Floriana Sabina asked him with a frown on her face. She, after all, wanted to try working as a mortal for a week straight.
"We still need to buy seasonings and spices."
Rant Valo replied to her candidly.
"Tsk. Okay."
Floriana Sabina clicked her tongue in annoyance. Rant Valo jumped back in fright when he heard it. It was like the sound of doom for him.
"Why are you upset?"
Rant Valo asked her with puzzlement on his face. He couldn't understand what suddenly got into her that she became upset for no reason.
"Nothing!"
Floriana Sabina turned around and walked ahead of him. Rant Valo could only give up and follow her as they tried to find a market.
As the sky turned dark, the lamp posts on the street were lit up by the Town Guards one by one. Rant Valo and Floriana Sabina walked alone together in silence. They were both swinging their heads left and right, trying to look for an open market or store that sells seasoning and spices.
"Don't we have money?"
Rant Valo couldn't help but say from the side. Too many things happened that he forgot that they had no money to buy any with.
"We'll just trade these dried yellowberries."
A jar appeared in Floriana Sabina's hand, and she lifted it towards Rant Valo's face.
"I see. That indeed could work."
Rant Valo immediately understood. If the one they would be buying from is a trader, then they would be able to barter this jar of dried yellowberries for some seasoning.
Soon, they found a stall that was selling mounds of powdered spices. There were chili flakes, crushed pepper, salt, etc., and they all formed pyramid-shaped mounds.

"Mister, how much for a kilo of each?"
Rant Valo called out to the man who had his back laid on a wooden chair. The man in question stood up and glanced at Rant Valo before replying.
"1 silver."
It was quite expensive as there were at least more than 20 different varieties of seasonings and spices sold here, and some are more expensive than others.
"Can we trade it for this?"
Rant Valo showed him the jar full of dried yellowberries. The man moved his eyes closer to the jar and looked at its contents.
"Yep. I recognize this berry. I'll double it for you for giving me such a rare commodity."
The man started scooping up the spices, and Rant Valo waited in excitement. He knew that after this, they wouldn't have to worry about eating bland-tasting food anymore.
A few minutes later, Rant Valo and Floriana Sabina were walking back towards the Narene Mansion. The spices were already stored inside Floriana Sabina's Storage Ring.
They had also already gone around almost half of the town after finding a store that sells seasonings. The other places that they hadn't been to were just mostly houses. There's nothing for them to see there.
Not long after, Rant Valo and Floriana Sabina came back. The guards glanced at them before letting them pass readily.
Rant Valo unlocked the door to their room, and immediately, a crazed Veia pounced on him.
"Master! I missed your presence…"
Veia started sniffing Rant Valo as she embraced him tightly.
"Hm? You smell like meat?"
Veia sniffed Rant Valo's chest like a dog. It was not surprising that Veia could smell the meat that Rant Valo was butchering earlier today. Her strong sense of smell is something that could even smell the delicious blood inside Rant Valo's body.
"A lot has happened…"
Rant Valo looked away from her awkwardly. He didn't even want to talk about it. It was embarrassing just remembering it.
"You also smell like spices, Master."
Veia added as she sniffed him once more.
"We bought seasonings and spices."
Rant Valo explained to her. Veia's eyes lit up when she heard that. Although she couldn't eat a lot, at least, she would be able to taste good food once in a while.
"Yay! Master is really the best."
Veia rubbed her face on Rant Valo's chest. There was happiness bubbling on her face.
"Enough of that. Go to your room."
Floriana Sabina pulled Veia away from Rant Valo. She was being dangerously close to Rant Valo. One spark and she would be pouncing on him.

Sarsaparilla's Scary Super Power. Completed
Sarsaparilla is an older teenage girl living on Mars. And, like many other young people around her, she has a super power. Or, rather, she is supposed to have a super power. Only she has never been able to activate it, she doesn’t even know what her super power is. This annoys her, tremendously. But she hides this behind a really sweet smile. Adalace is another teenage girl, also on Mars. She knows what her own super power is, and it is quite a good one. She is also really cute… so long has she keeps her feelings under control and doesn’t let out anything from her dark past. Teylon is a man, currently living on Earth. He likes to think of himself as still young, even if he is over fifty. He’s a bit smug about his successful career and is thinking of retiring… until a sadly unfortunate event leads him to the conclusion that he had better immigrate to Mars. Immediately. Apparently, meeting one’s own Angel of Death tends to cause people to make profound changes to their lives… Mars society had better brace itself, because once these three people, plus another three also not so quite stable individuals, collide with each other, the resulting explosion is not going to leave anyone on Mars unaffected. This is another Esmeralda, the Angel of Death, story. It follows on from my previous two such stories, but it is in no way dependent on the previous stories. They can be read in any order. It is fully written and proof read (using Word for Windows, no real editor touched this transcript) and comes to about 247,000 words (about 895 Royal Road pages). It is organized into 50 chapters and I will be publishing them roughly one per day. In my writing, there are multiple characters and multiple points of view. Each change in a point of view is introduced by a header, giving the viewpoint character’s name first, and possibly a title. Inside a Point of View section, dialog in italics represents the Point of View character’s thoughts, while dialog between quotes represent normal spoken dialog. This story is very much inspired by the anime A Certain Scientific Railgun. However I have only taken some elements from the anime, and changed everything I took to make my own story, and so it does not count as fanfiction. Yeah, I know, the book cover page isn’t very good. It’s the best I could do, by tracing over a stock image. The two ladies shown are supposed to be Adalace and Sarsaparilla. Ideally I would have liked there to be two images of this pair, one where they are smiling sweetly and looking cute, and one where they are looking really angry and dangerous. But that totally exceeds my graphics abilities. You will just have to imagine it.
