During the time YuJu spent explaining to Sofia the battle with the bats had reached its deciding moments, Clark was now on his last clip while Mia was running around trying her best to outpace the bats

Ellis was still hacking bats left and right but her speed had lessened by a great deal, if not for the numbers dwindling ever so slightly then she would have had a hard time keeping them at bay, after all, it takes just one of them to disrupt her rhythm and she would be a goner

John, on the other hand, was doing quite well, with the extra clips he could buy himself a lot more time

"John! I need a clip, hurry, I'm almost out"

Clark yelled toward John, if he doesn't shoot the bats down they would eventually catch up to him and he would end up like the empty husk Zachry now was

"Okay, come toward me, I will throw you one!"

John yelled back and made a U-turn shooting the bats that used this opportunity to get closer to him

"Here catch!"

He threw a clip toward the running Clark and then each one chose his own direction

Taking out the empty clip and loading the new one Clark turned around to aim at the bats, but seeing the tens of them following him he suddenly felt like he had no hope no matter how much he ran

'No, I won't die, I finely got the chance to stand out! To switch my life around! I am different from everyone else now, I was granted power that normal people will never get'

Clark's eyes started to become red, he was desperate, he didn't want to die, much less now that he had a chance at a great life, everyone knew that power gave one riches and fortune, especially in this new age of the apocalypse, and to a person that used to be a lowly guard now should be the time of his life

Suddenly Clark's eyes caught a glimpse of Mia running nearby, his eyes went out of focus for a second as he thought then they turned red once he made up his mind

Instead of diverting his direction so they don't get pincered he instead ran straight toward Mia

Mia saw him approach with crazy eyes and she knew the man had gone crazy, so she wanted to run the opposite direction, to escape from whatever crazy plan he had, maybe the bats following her could even follow him instead

Bang!

Sadly Mia had thought too well of Clark, proven by the bullet that shot through her chest, the man had shot his own comrade for the sake of survival

"Haha!, Hahaha"

Clark laughed madly as he saw Mia fall, he was going to live! He couldn't believe how smart he was

Or so he thought, but once again reality proved to be a cruel teacher, crueller than Clark, as the bats who were chasing Mia suddenly lost their target for some reason and they only saw the madly laughing Clark on the run, so instead of diving toward the fallen Mia the intercepted Clark, biting him with all their might

"Wh-Wha-Arghh, no noooo help me!!"

His screams were drowned by the horde of bats until not a breath could be heard

John watched this crazy spectacle happen, cursing left and right at himself for giving this crazy bastard the clip and the man for his madness

He looked at his dwindling magazines and then at the bats, before finally looking at Ellis

His thoughts spun at a rapid speed, evil thoughts formed and despair clawed at him, no matter what he thought of the end seemed to be bloody

Suddenly his eyes found resolve, he grit his teeth and ran toward Ellis

Bang Bang Bang!

He shot bullets at a rapid speed not caring for aim, only taking down as many as he could before he reached them

Ellis moved her head sideways for a second, she wanted to react to his attack but when she saw his eyes she realized she was wrong, those eyes weren't those of dispair no they were of...

"Come at me you filthy bloodsuckers!"

John plunged into the circle of bats surrounding Ellis bats like a bulldozer, his actions causing mayhem and disrupted the steady flow of battle, tilting it toward Ellis's favour as she finely had some room to breathe, with Johns sacrifice she gained a few precious seconds of freedom and made great use of them as she jumped away, disengaging from the circle of bats and claiming up the wall, before going through a window nearby, with that she was finely able to relocate toward an area where they can only come at her from one side, this guaranteed her victory as she could easily deal with the bats coming from a single direction, it was only a matter of time now

When John had screamed at the bats YuJu finely got to the battle's location, then he saw the sacrifice of John and Elli's quick response

"Hm?"

A crawling figure suddenly caught his eyes, and he saw Mia crawling out with blood dripping down from her chest

"Stealth?"

He noticed her peculiar state and knew that she had used stealth, and that was what she had done during the moment of life and death, she had already put her new level up points into stealth and was going to make a run for it, and when she was shot she activated her stealth as a last mean of survival, who knew the dumb bats would actually be fooled by the sudden turn of events

Looking at the gunshot wound YuJu could more or less guess what was going on

Mia kept crawling until she reached his legs, only then did she notice him and looked up, only to see a bright smile on his face, she didn't know why he was smiling but she didn't care

"Please... help me..."

She begged but he just smiled and looked away, staring at the slaughter happening at the window

"Please..."

She hugged his leg in desperation

"She's a talented one you know"

YuJu finely spoke

"She has always had a way with the sword, from the moment she picks it up her whole being changes, it has only been barely half a day and she already achieved what takes others months to do"

His words didn't seem to be aimed at her, it felt like he was merely voicing his thoughts

"Quite unfair if you ask me, some people work hard with blood and tears but they only achieve so much while others gain much more just by exerting bare minimum effort"

He had a reminiscent look on his face

"Still, she would end up in a pitiful state if she only had her sword"

He said with a sneering smirk

"Swords, knives, spears, bows, and all these weapons have limitations, they can only take you so far, after all these are the work of men, any class bound to them will sooner or later meet a dead-end"

That's exactly what happened to Ellis in the past, she had chosen the path of the sword, not knowing it was short-lived

"But, with me to guide her she will not reach a dead end, and set upon a clear path"

His eyes were shining, he looked forward to seeing where the path he had chosen for her would eventually lead, this was him, his passion, he wanted nothing more than to create the path with his own hands, for himself and his servants

Still, his speech received no applause, not even recognition, for the woman clinging to his feet was going cold as her consciousness wavered, barely even registering what he said

YuJu stared at her for a few seconds before moving his gaze to an immobile bat half-dead on the road

"Hmm, maybe I should experiment~?"

He smirked before grabbing the bat, then he sank his teeth into the bat, reversing the roles of the two

The bat squeaked and squirmed but YuJu didn't let it go, only when it was half dead did he finely throw it toward the window, where it was sliced by Ellis unknowingly

Then he turned to Mia, his lips red, with blood dripping down the side, coupled with his lanky and dark look, and his gleaming green eyes Mia felt the man in front of her was devilishly handsome, even though she was in no condition to have such thoughts

YuJu crouched down and hugged Mia to his chest, placing his mouth near her neck, then he bit into her just as he did to the bat

"Agh"

Mia grunted painfully as his teeth sank in, after all those were human teeth, and a whole row of them, YuJu didn't have fangs to sink them alone

YuJu hadn't heard the grunt though as his mind wholly focused on the task at hand, the blood of the bat that had flowed into his stomach started to slowly break apart and seep into his body, flowing with his own blood

Then the blood of the bat and his own started to mix, but the bat's blood seemed to want to devour his as it slowly ate it up bit by bit

YuJu felt his blood churning but allowed it to continue eating his blood

This process was known as blood assimilation, it was when a human devoured the blood of a beast and changed his own into that of the beasts, changing his race entirely

But YuJu wasn't planning to change his race at all, he was using this method to gain his secondary class

Yes, YuJu had levelled up quite a lot after this huge battle, and he had even let Anput kill aa few beasts while Ellis was fighting to reach the required level faster, and now he had finely gotten to level 25, a scary speed if he could say so himself, but when one thought about the number of bats that had been killed, and the fact that he was already over level ten before the battle started, it then became quite expected that he reached it

When the blood in his body was converted into a tenth of a bat he started to resist the devouring process, easily stopping it since it only needed ones will and focus

YuJu still hadn't reached the required blood percentage but he still stopped, and this time instead of allowing the blood to flow in his bloodstreams evenly he started to focus int the veins near his mouth

"Keh"

He chocked as he felt blood rushing toward his head, the process was much harder than he thought, still he didn't think it was impossible, after all, he was someone who had gone through the first ascension, this much was doable

It took a while but he finally got the hang of it and was able to focus on his mouth instead of the whole head, when the blood started going into his mouth he made it rush into his gum, there he allowed the bats blood to devour his

The process was much slower than when it was within his bloodstream but the result was huge as his teeth started to change at a visible speed, his gans started to grow apart from the rest, extending slightly while his other teeth turned sharp, but not too pointy, still looking human

Mia could feel his teeth slipping out of her, leaving only four fangs inside her neck, but their extended length caused her extra pain, only to be replaced by a numbing sensation that was followed with the feeling of a warm flow coming out of her already cold body

Sensing her body turn even colder YuJu started to hastily mix the blood he drank form her with his own, which held bats blood, then sent it back into her body in larger quantity

"Mnn!"

Mia moaned felling blood being injected into her, he body squirmed as the foreign feeling brought her extreme pleasure she shouldn't be feeling at death's door

'Now I know why they call vampires the masters of pleasure, seems like an aphrodisiac is released form the fangs during injection'

YuJu thought before he felt a pair of hands reach toward his back digging into it

Mia's fingers clawed at his back the more blood he injected, she kept strengthening her grip by the second until he stopped injecting and started sucking her blood again, but she only dug harder when he injected her again

YuJu's method was simple, instead of wasting the 80 percent of the blood that he didn't need he would mix it into Mia's blood, turning her into a vampire to survive her wound, he didn't expect her actions but it didn't cause much of a problem

"Mnn, Ahn, ahhhhn!"

Finely when he had mixed all the extra blood into her body and assimilated 20 percent of the blood into his both of them felt a quake in their bodies, but while YuJu kept quite Mia didn't bother restraining her moaning voice
