As A Cardinal, I Don't Do Overtime Chapter 70

In the Capital, Monn and Ace headed east with the King's Guard and went through a fleet of stairs uphill, like a stairway to heaven.
A majestic castle stood tall at the end of the stairway, shimmering in the sunshine among the clouds. The view was mind-blowing, as they felt like they were walking towards heaven, waking up a yearning in their heart.
Gems of different colors adorned the azure-blue rooftop of the castle.
"What a waste." Monn sighed when he saw the gems glistening on the rooftop of the castle.
They arrived at the castle gate soon after.
The King's Guard leading Monn and Ace took out a pass as a verification.
The castle gate slowly opened.
They walked through the courtyard and arrived at the main hall of the royal palace.
An announcement echoed in the hall, "The messenger of the Orthodox Church from St. Servant has arrived."
Every church under the Orthodox religion would need to discuss with the rulers of each kingdom for the defense and attack strategies because of the difference in every kingdom.
Monn entered the Main Hall of the palace with Ace. He glanced around the hall and noticed that most of the subjects in the kingdom were white-haired.
Standing by the King's side were three youngsters.
Prince Ivan, the eldest son of the King, was muscular and tanned, seemingly to have spent most of his time under the sun. With his arms crossed and eyes closed, no one could tell what was on his mind.
Standing beside him was a pale young man of slim-built. He looked humble, with a smile on his face. However, Monn somehow felt that he tensed up when he first laid his eyes on him but turned relaxed soon after. He was the second son of the King, Prince Rostislav.

He smiled humbly at Monn when he noticed Monn looking at him.
Monn shifted his sight towards the third person. She was a valiant-looking woman with waist-length silver hair resting on the tailor-made silver armor shining against the sun. She had her left hand on the sheath of her sword, ready to strike. She was the King's eldest daughter, Princess Cheryl.
Her ash-grey eyes met Monn's gaze. Her gut feeling told her he was a powerful man. But it was just her intuition, and hers alone.
She trusted her intuition as she had resolved multiple dangers on the battlefield easily, based on her intuition.
And now, her intuition told her that this man in front of her was extremely dangerous.
But she couldn't help feeling curious about this man. How could he, a man about her age, train to be so powerful? Her body involuntarily felt the fear even though he was just standing there.
Monn had no idea that the princess of the Kingdom of Kate had taken an interest in him.
His gaze continued to move and stopped at the owner of the sword, which aura had captured his attention the moment he entered the palace hall. The owner was an old man.
Their eyes met. Monn calmly stared into his eyes.
Moments later, Monn calmly averted his sight and focused on the ruler of the kingdom. But he had no idea his actions had just caused a change in the expressions of everyone in the hall.
Who was that old man?
He was Errol, the swordmaster of the Kingdom.
No one looked Errol in the eyes as they could not withstand the aura of the swordman emitted from every inch of his body, not even the masters from other kingdoms.
Now, a mere Cardinal dared to meet Errol's in the eyes. Initially, they thought it was ridiculous and were prepared to mock him.

Even Prince Rostislav watched eagerly, waiting for the aura of Errol to cause irreparable damage to the cardinal in front of him. That would be a relief for him.
But the cardinal did not seem to be affected in the slightest way. He just looked away nonchalantly.
Prince Rostislav was shaken for a moment. Perhaps Errol restrained his aura for fear of hurting the cardinal. He cast Errol a doubtful glance. Before he could take a good look at Errol, his entire turned pale. A mouthful of blood gushed through his throat.
He endured the pain and forcefully swallowed the mouthful of blood as he inspected Monn with curiosity.
Errol sneaked a peek at Prince Rostislav, aware that he had been injured by his aura.
However, it was not his concern. Prince Rostislav would have to bear the responsibility for his own actions.
He looked at the cardinal standing in front of him. Complicated emotions filled his eyes.
Although there were several people across the continent that could withstand his aura, the number was pathetically small. As for those who could withstand his aura, they were of the master's level. None of the rest had the skill he had.
But the young cardinal seemed to have not even the slightest reaction to his swordsmanship aura. He looked extremely calm, as well as if the aura did not bother him.
Prince Ivan, who was having his eyes closed, opened them out of a sudden. Thirst for battle flared in his eyes.
He would have challenged the cardinal to combat if they were not in a palace hall.
Only two people in the entire palace hall were not surprised by Monn's ability to withstand Errol's aura. Saintess Ace would be one of them, as she had seen Monn's actual strength. The other one would be Princess Cheryl, who trusted her intuition with all her heart.
Her eyes radiated with curiosity as she observed the calm-looking Monn. He had proven that her intuition of him was accurate.
How could a cardinal become so powerful?
This question lingered in her heart.
King Aldrich, the ruler of the Kate, was seated on the throne with his drooping eyelids. No one could tell what he had in his mind. His heart was sinking.
Although standing in front of him was a mere cardinal, he couldn't treat Cardinal Monn like an ordinary cardinal for the respect of the power in him.
He found it strange too that a man so powerful was willing to be just a mere cardinal of the Orthodox Church. He would be treated with honor wherever he went with a power like his. Alas, he was just a cardinal of the Orthodox Church?
He was puzzled, but at the same time, an idea flickered in his mind. Since such a powerful man was willing to be a mere cardinal with the Orthodox Church, would he want to be the guest of honor of the Kingdom?
Aldrich hung on to the idea. But his concern would be on popping the question to Cardinal Monn and on convincing him. He drifted deeper into his thought as he stared blankly in front of him.
Monn frowned, looking at the King's silence towards the commotions in his throne room. His calm voice rang across the throne room.
"Your Majesty, I'm here as a representative of St. Servant to discuss the matter with the werewolves' attack."

Live Life Homunclus
The end is not always the end. Nothing is permanent, and even death itself is merely a transition. This fact holds true for a certain young man who died quite tragically on Earth. Lucky for him, a new life was just around the corner. A world filled with magic, adventure, and oh so many dangers awaited. Everything would be perfect, if it wasn't for the fact that he reincarnated into a homunclus. An artificial life-form said to possess almost zero combat capabilities. An exemplary example of pure breed cannon fodder. Surviving in a world where dragons roam the skies and monsters stalk the lands, wasn't this a bit too unreasonable?

Death Lives
When the universe is destroyed the avatar of death is reborn.Once an all powerful being but limited in scope, Death now has a chance to learn and grow.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------This is my first novel, please be critical of it where it needs to be. I'm not sure if there will be romance in the future. It is unlikely for the MC but perhaps I will have meaningful relationships between side characters that will be worth adding the tag.The Mature tag is simply because there will be killing, descriptive scenes, and more. There will be no described rape at all in my story, anything of the like will be merely alluded to but not talked about in any matter if at all. Please enjoy and thank you.
