As A Cardinal, I Don't Do Overtime Chapter 255

Dolly did not think that was what Vivian was worried about.
The creatures on their continent were unlucky.
The creatures born elsewhere had a higher starting point.
But they were also unlucky,
Because their future was destined from birth.
Things like inheritance did not appear out of thin air.
Why did the people of their continent have inheritances? The frequency of their inheritances wasn't high.
Only when a God fell from the outside world, would their continent have a suitable successor.
There were even rumors that their continent was the place where the God was reborn.
This was also why after the dragon clan's wise successor appeared,
Andrea was so valued.
It was said that the last sage inheritor of the dragon race brought the dragon clan out of the sea.
They became the clan leader of the true dragon clan that was above all living things in the Shenluo continent.
After that, the dragon clan became stronger and stronger.
So strong that it made people doubt whether it was true.
Not only were their strength and cultivation methods much stronger than any other race.
Even their racial talent seemed to be more outstanding than other races.
"You know this! Andrea is different from the rest."
Dolly was different from Aude.
Aude had always been strict with his daughter since she was young.
Dolly, on the other hand, played the role of a loving father.
So, Andrea spent more time pestering Dolly and staying by his side.
No matter how much Andrea did not like to call Dolly uncle,
She liked to call him Eight-Legged Uncle.
Andrea had deep feelings for Dolly.
Andrea knew Dolly as well as Dolly knew herself.
Dolly had been helping to look after Andrea since she was born.
Vivian was a fire dragon, so she had a special physique and could not hatch dragon eggs often.
Otherwise, she might accidentally roast her own eggs.

In addition, Vivian was born with a high body temperature, so she could not hatch eggs normally.
In the dragon clan, it was even more impossible for dragon males to hatch eggs.
When there was time to hatch eggs, they were busy everywhere else.
The responsibility of hatching the eggs naturally fell to Dolly.
It could be said that the first smell that Andrea smelled after she was born belonged to Dolly.
The first creature she saw when she opened her eyes was Dolly.
Andrea's biological parents were Aude and Vivian.
Her father, Aude, was Andrea's teacher, and her mother, Vivian, was the nanny who watched the children and was responsible for feeding them regularly.
Dolly played the role of Andrea's relatives, friends, and elders for more than 200 years of her life.
As Andrea grew older, her inheritance became more complete.
Her strength also became stronger.
But she subconsciously hid it.
She didn't want others to know her true strength.
Until now, no one knew except for Andrea.
She now had the title of the strongest dragon in the continent.
Although Dolly also noticed this,
It was normal for children to grow up and have their own thoughts and secrets.
So, Dolly had never told anyone about this.
Although Andrea wasn't his biological child,
He was the one who watched her grow up, and he was the one who brought her up.
He respected the child's growth.
He also respected the child's choices.
"The child's path is for the child to walk on his own.
It is not for others to help them choose.".
"I know. But after all, she is born with a weaker physique than other dragons!"
As a mother, although Vivian seemed to be more fierce to Andrea than anyone else,
She was actually more worried about her child than anyone else.
This child was already more than 200 years old.

She was about to come of age,
But her figure was still like a little cub.
What would she do when she came of age?
So what if she was the legacy of the wise men.
Without a strong physique, the legacy of the wise men could only become the vassal of others.
Think about your child. One day in the future, she would become the vassal of others.
Vivian could not sit still.
"Hey. Have you never looked at your child carefully?"
Dolly was really helpless.
He didn't know how confused his savior was.
How could she think that her daughter was weak.
Could a weak dragon cub really feed on others?
Would she take a bite to fill her stomach when she had nothing to do?
Stop joking, okay?
He really should let his silly friend see her daughter's fierce appearance.
Once, when he was shedding his shell, because he was near the volcano, the humidity was not enough.
Then he got stuck.
Yes, it was a real case of being stuck.
The shell was half gone, and the humidity was not enough, so it could not fully be shed.
Because he shed his shell, his body was weak.
He could only hold on until he recovered his strength and continued to shed his shell.
Then, Andrea, who had a poor physique according to Vivian, staged a battle in front of him that him to death.
That's right.
He didn't know why Andrea was looking for him.
Anyway, she saw that he was halfway through the molting process and was stuck.
Because her body was a snake, the molting process was smooth.
But his legs were spider's, so the molting process was very troublesome.
He could not forcefully pull down. If he did not pull well, his legs would be lost.
So, he could only let the shell get stuck awkwardly.
Andrea didn't come close either. She just glanced at his position.
Then, she turned around and left.
At that time, he was still sad for quite a while.
The child he raised must now despise him for being so useless.
He could even get stuck shedding his shell.
Oh.
Of course, that wasn't the case.
Reality slapped him in the face.
He didn't know what was going through Andrea's mind at that time.
Anyway, she went back and fought with Aude.
She destroyed half of the volcano that was about to erupt.
Then, Andrea's four small claws grabbed a piece of bloody meat.
A piece of meat that was much longer than her own body fell out of her mouth.
Andrea stuffed the meat from her four small claws into Dolly's mouth without any explanation.
Then, she used her four small bloody claws that were finally free to wipe Dolly's eight stuck spider legs.
She wiped all the blood on her four small claws onto Dolly's eight spider legs.
Finally, in front of Dolly,
She unceremoniously placed the long piece of meat in his mouth on the ground.
She pressed it with her four small claws and bit into it with her mouth.
She began to tear off the scales along with the skin on the long piece of meat and ate it.
In front of Dolly, there was a live version of scraping off scales and peeling off skin.
Seeing this, Dolly even felt that the scales on his body were a little painful.
However, before Dolly could understand what this child was trying to do,
He saw Andrea pick up the piece of meat with the scales removed.
Dolly thought the child was going to leave, and finally stopped fussing.
He could finally take a good rest and shed his shell.

The 8th Day
One day life is good. The next day it isn't! The boundaries between... well, whatever they're between.. have shattered! Monsters burst out from cracks in the universe, and reality suddenly begins to function similar to a game -- but not a game that anyone knows all the rules about! Magic is suddenly real, but so are monsters and death! Lots of death! And the worst part of it all? I think we did it to ourselves! We invented video games, and personally I think that great Finger-in-the-Sky picked up a console somewhere and started playing them. Since He liked what he saw, he must've declared, """"On the 8th Day, let there be Game!"But what do I know about it all, really. After all, I'm just """"The Witness"""" forced to observe it all.__________________________________________________________________________Author's Note: There's a lot of tales where characters get stuck in a Virtual Reality. """"Sword Art Online"""", """"Log Horizon"""", """"The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor"""". This is a story told with the premise inverted -- instead of a person from reality going into a virtual world, what would happen if the virtual world instead came to reality?I want this tale to speak about the aspects of the game, as it has affected the current reality, but the focus of the story should never be on the """"reality-turned-game"""" itself, but on the characters and their oh-so-human struggles, personalities, and attempt to adjust and live within the bounds of their new existence. Hopefully this won't just be a story of """"reality turned into a game"""", but instead will be something more meaningful such as a story of the strengths, perseverance, and humanity of man-kind as they try to adapt and face the unknown.*** And, most importantly, I hope everyone enjoys reading it as much as I've enjoyed writing it. ***WARNING: RATED MATURE M[18+] FOR GORE, SEX, VIOLENCE. The apocalypse isn't a pretty place to try to survive in, and neither is every scene in a story trying to describe it.

Deviation

A region few have ever wanted to visit and fewer still actually have. If you were to visit you'd find and small rip in space-time leading to the most bizarre and out of place thing you have ever seen. A solar system consisting of five planets, all with life, all stuck in conflict, and all absolutely bursting with energy. For some it seems like a paradise. A land of sword and sorcery? Why would anyone pass that up? That was the thought process of the freshly dead boy. This boy, like many before him and many after him, was trying to find the bright side. Things had finally been going right for him, good grades, new friends, and best of all a girlfriend when the entire world ended. No huff, no puff, just poof the end. At least being reborn into this world would be fun. That definitely sounded like a bright side to most. Fracture, one of the five worlds in question, was massive and full of magic. It looked sounded and felt like it would be just another game, it even had prompts and levels. Piece of cake. Well that might be the case if Fracture was meant to be a paradise. The hottest fires forge the strongest swords. This fire has the habit of melting away oneself. A pixie clan searching for a new home, a boy who just lost his, a reality bending forest, and a bug that doesn't belong. All with an intense desire for power. Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.
