Chapter 12: Return
Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation
The next morning, Su Jin ate the hotel breakfast early and checked out.
Zhang Chunyang arrived at the hotel at the agreed time too, but why was Wang He in the car as well? Was Wang He here to send her off too?
Zhang Chunyang said awkwardly, “Mr. Wang called me this morning and said he needed to go to S City. Your flights are about the same time, so I thought I’d send both of you together. You don’t mind, do you?”
Could she say it if she did mind? Zhang Chunyang was such an idiot. Well, she really did not mind, though. She had some degree of faith in Wang He, and even if Wang He suspected anything, she was sure that he would do anything to harm her.
“I don’t mind. Good morning, Mr. Wang,” Su Jin said, keeping a straight face.
“Morning,” Wang He replied. He was still sitting in the back seat as usual, his laptop propped on his legs. As he greeted her, he moved his black suitcase aside and moved inward, gesturing at Su Jin to sit next to him.
Su Jin had planned to take the passenger seat. “…”
About a dozen minutes into the drive, Su Jin gave the warehouse key to Zhang Chunyang. If Wang He saw them, he made no indication of it, continuing to type out his emails on his laptop.
“When are you sending people over to your warehouse for the goods?” Zhang Chunyang asked without thinking.
Warehouse? Goods?
The typing sounds stopped abruptly. Wang He raised his head and turned to look at Su Jin in confusion.
Sigh, guess she could not avoid it.
Su Jin had no choice but to repeat her whole story to Wang He.
She could not tell if Wang He bought it, but he did not say anything else after her explanation.
“You don’t know, Mr. Wang, but Su Jin’s planning to start a real big supermarket back home. Two whole floors worth!” If Zhang Chunyang was not driving, Su Jin suspected that he would be jumping for joy.
Su Jin held her head. “I’ll tell you once I get things sorted out. It’ll take some time yet.”
“Sure thang, boss. Call me and I’ll be there.” Zhang Chunyang thumped his chest confidently. He was reliable and guaranteed that he could complete any task Su Jin gave him flawlessly.
Her morning flight was right on time, so Su Jin bid the two of them farewell and proceeded to the boarding counter.
Before she got onto the plane, she called Lu Hao, who said that he would pick her up on time. When she thought that they were going to reunite soon, Su Jin felt her heart start to race for some reason. She had not seen her husband for two years, and her face actually turned red for once. She felt like a new bride again.
The plane flew across the sky and slowly landed back down. She was finally back in H City.

Su Jin breathed in the familiar air as soon as she got off the plane. It had been such a long time, and she really missed this email. Whenever Su Jin went anywhere else in the past, she always thought that the air in H City was just different. This was the smell of home.
Probably because it was the weekend, the airport was packed full of people, but Su Jin could not see Lu Hao anywhere.
Had he gotten lost again…?
Su Jin turned on the GPS on her phone and shared her location with Lu Hao. As she watched, the small green dot representing Lu Hao’s location moved in the opposite direction, going further away from her.
…
Su Jin hurriedly called Lu Hao and told him to stay put. It would probably be easier for her to go to him.
She used the GPS to head toward Lu Hao’s direction. Soon enough, she found Lu Hao standing alone in the crowd, looking utterly lost.
…
Lu Hao was wearing simple lounge clothing today, his casual off-white slacks accentuating his long legs. The short-sleeved blue T-shirt he wore highlighted his large pecs and tight waist, hinting at his well-defined and powerful muscles. His strong features and copper skin gave him an aura that exuded masculinity.
Right now, Lu Hao was holding his phone in his left hand. He looked at the crowd around him and then at the the phone in his hand, his expression one of complete confusion.
His little green dot and Su Jin’s little red dot were right next to each other now, but he could not see his wife anywhere! At the same time, Su Jin told him not to move, so he did not dare to take a single step from where he stood right now…
To Su Jin, Lu Hao looked like a Golden Retriever who could not find its bone, so it was going around in circles anxiously.
Lu Hao felt someone tug at his shirt, and then a soft voice called his name.
It was his wife!
Lu Hao the Golden Retriever finally found his bone. He turned around and immediately enveloped Su Jin in a bear hug.
Sh was feeling a little suffocated in his arms. She nearly summoned her vines to knock him away.
“Lu Hao, c’mon, let go already.” Su Jin tried to push Lu Hao’s chest away, not forgetting to cop a feel while she was at it. Tsk-tsk, those were some nice pecs.
Lu Hao felt something soft pressing against his chest. It was ticklish, but it felt good too.
Thankfully, he remembered that they were still in public. When he saw Su Jin’s slightly flushed face, he hurriedly let go and asked her, “Are you tired?”
“Totally. I sat in the plane for so long that my butt hurts now!”
Lu Hao laughed. Why was his wife so cute?!
It felt as though it had been a century since he last saw her, even though it was clearly only a week.

Su Jin was even prettier now than she had been when they parted. Her smile almost blinded him.
Lu Hao toko her luggage from her, while she clung onto his arm intimately. The two of them walked, side by side. As Lu Hao pulled the luggage with his left hand, he could the soft sweetness of the person on his right. He could not help but lift the corners of his lips.
His mother had died when he was young, and after that he had lived with his father. While his father was decent to Lu Hao, he eventually got remarried, and Lu Hao did not want to continue living with his stepmother and stepsister. That was why Lu Hao joined the police forces at a young age. As far as he could remember, he had never known the warmth of a complete family.
To make things worse, he spent most of his time with a bunch of other guys, so he had no idea how to interact with women either. That was why he was so glad that Su Jin did not mind his boring personality and was willing to marry him anyway.
From the second he put the wedding ring on her finger, he swore to himself that no matter what, he would unconditionally love and spoil her for the rest of their lives. He would not let her suffer even the smallest slight, because she had taught him what it felt like to be a family.
Having a family gave him a warm fuzzy feeling that nothing else could compare to.
…
Once they left the arrivals hall, they saw Mr. Chen the chauffeur waiting for them at the very front of the line, so that they could not possibly miss him. It was an occupational habit of his. He was worried that Captain Lu would not see him and end up lost again, so he constantly thought of himself as a human signboard.
In her past life, Su Jin always respected Mr. Chen, who was Lu Hao’s chauffeur but also their elder. He treated Lu Hao with the same care and concern an elder would show to their younger relatives, but he also afforded Lu Hao the strict devotion an employee should show his employer. No matter how late at night, if Lu Hao’s duty called him, Mr. Chen would send Lu Hao to the correct location right on time.
That was why both Lu Hao and his wife Su Jin treated Mr. Chen very well. The problem was Mr. Chen’s daughter…
When Su Jin remembered the person who had killed her in her previous life, her feelings for Mr. Chen became even more complicated.
She had sworn to kill that enemy of hers, but the woman was also Mr. Chen’s only daughter. How did such a kind father raise such an evil daughter? Su Jin could not understand it. Right now, she could only take things one step at a time.
Mr. Chen dropped Su Jin and Lu Hao off at their home and then left.
All of a sudden, they were alone in the house and Su Jin began feeling a little awkward. To hide her unnaturalness, she opened her luggage and took out her clothes. A bath might help her loosen up.
On the other hand, Lu Hao did not seem to feel anything amiss. He had his laptop balanced on his legs as he sat on the couch, but his eyes kept following Su Jin as she ran in and out of the balcony.
The afternoon sun shone down on her as she stuffed her clothes into the washing machine. She poured in the detergent and hit ‘start’, then the washing machine beeped and began to turn.
It was such a mundane, realistic scene. It finally sank in for him that she was home, for real. The uneasiness he had felt the past few days while she was away vanished without a trace.
“Lu Hao, there’s something I want to talk to you about.” Su Jin finally gathered her guts and decided to tell Lu Hao all about her secrets and the dimension.
“Hmm? What is it?” On the couch, Lu Hao took the laptop from his legs and put it down. Patting the seat next to him, he invited her to come sit with him.
…
Su Jin bit her red lip and said, “Could we… talk inside the room?”
Was that an invitation?
Su Jin could tell that he was misunderstanding something. Whatever, he would understand soon enough.
She ran up to him and searched through his shirt and pants pockets with her dainty hands, asking him, “Where’s your phone?”
Was she demanding a spot check before cuddle time? How could she be so adorable?
Lu Hao’s throat bobbed. He picked her up with ease and put her on his lap, pressing down on her frisky hands with one hand and holding up her chin with the other. Without a word, he came down on those tempting red lips!
After a long, long time, they finally broke apart, both of them red and panting.
Geez, she was being serious here!
As serious as she could possibly be! This was really important!
Lu Hao looked at the conflict in Su Jin’s expression and pinched her cheek. It felt good. So he pinched her again.
Su Jin, “…”
Could she get to the main point yet?
Lu Hao finally stopped teasing her. Su Jin placed both her phone and his onto the couch and dragged him into their bedroom.
Once inside, Su Jin closed and locked the door. Next, she drew the curtains and turned on the light.
Her actions… were causing his mind to wander again.
However, Su Jin then made him sit on the bed and sat down facing him.
“Lu Hao, I died two years from now and came back to the past. Do you believe me?”
