How To Raise Your Regressor Chapter 84

「We'll treat whatever's left of it! Why do you have to be like this!」 Neia exclaimed inside my mind.
First of all, does she have any idea how rude that was?
What do you mean why am I like THIS? I didn't judge you for your inability to attack the kidnapper and protect me and ask you why you are like THIS?
Bruh, Neia is a fucking asshole.
Anyway, her lack of manners aside, it's time for me to save the day once again.
And by saving the day, I mean making the chase scene as epic as it should be.
To achieve that, my first order of action has to be to stop my bleeding because, you know, I can't save the day if I'm dead.
Imagine dying of blood loss in an epic Dragon Chase; I'd rather just jump off Neia than go on to my next life like that.
Anyway, let's cauterize the wound for now because actually healing and growing my arm would take more time than I'm willing to spend on myself.
I'm here to shoot a great scene, not to save my life or make my life easier by regrowing an arm.
「Wait, what are you doing?」
「Making sure I don't die of blood loss.」
I thought that was obvious from my actions.
「You are just making things more complicated for me! If you had held on for a little longer, I could have made it as good as new!」
「I don't want the arm of an infant.」
I'd rather be just armless than have a left arm, the former would not only be significantly smaller than my right arm, but it would also be useless because it'd be incredibly weak.
A prosthetic arm would be way better.
Wait, a prosthetic arm really would be better.

Should I just abandon my natural arm and create a machine arm?
I could fit it with various quality of life improvements, like a toothbrush, or a laser cannon that could obliterate a country within seconds.
Sounds like a good idea.
「You know I didn't mean it that way!」
「Whatever. For now, can you match your speed with our pursuer?」
「No.」
Wut?
「Oh, come on. Do you really want to just let him go after what he did to us?」
「Well…」 Her voice trailed off.
「Ah, is he perhaps someone you know, and that's why you don't want to kill him?」
Bruh, I wish she had said that sooner. In fact, she could have indicated it through her mannerisms, like asking the Dragon_2 why he was doing this or some shit.
All that pain of cauterization, for nothing.
Neia, you fucking asshole.
「No, no, it's nothing like that.」
「Oh, nice.」
I'm sorry for calling you an asshole. From now on, you're a non-asshole.
「Do… do you really have a way of killing him?」
「Geez, how violent. I won't be killing him.」
I'm insulted, Neia.
「Oh…」 She averted her gaze (yes, she was looking back at me while flying in the air at the speed of Mach 20; someone really needs a refresher on Air Safety 101).
「I'm going to kill him in style.」
His death would be the climax of this Dragon Chase, so of course it has to be more epic than the epic Dragon Chase.
Hot damn, that's a lot of epicn-ess for today.
「Ha!」 A sneer appeared on Neia's Dragon face. 「I like that. What do you want me to do?」
Aight, so we're travelling at Mach 20 while the Dragon_2 is probably at Mach 19.5. So our relative speed is Mach 0.5.

Hmmm.
「Just slow down to a speed slightly lower than his and let him catch up. When the distance between us is reduced to around 50 metres, increase your speed again to match up to his.」
「Roger.」 Neia complied and reduced her magic output and slowed down slightly.
I looked back. I obviously couldn't make out the pursuing Dragon_2's expression because I was suffering from motherfucking Myopia, but given the way its flapping became even more frantic then before, it seemed he had realised the opportunity and wanted to make full use of it.
I guess he doesn't suspect the possibility of this being a trap; after all, Neia was a non-attacker Dragon while I was just a child.
But before that, why was Dragon_2 flapping his wings so desperately? I mean, the two Dragons (aka Neia and him) had broken the sound barrier through the use of magic; no way in hell could they reach such high speeds just by flapping their wings.
Even if they could, their wings would get torn apart within a fraction of a second due to how fast they would have to flap them.
I guess his frenzy is making him do stupid, unnecessary things.
Anyway, time to bamboozle this Dragon.
Neia continued to follow my instructions to a T; after the distance was reduced to a mere 50 metres, she increased her speed again to match Dragon_2's.
I, in the meantime, had taken out my apparatus from my Inventory.
「Space manipulation!?」
「Ez.」
I opened the bag to take out the main body. Then I attached the parts, put on the scope, and loaded the magazine.
I also put on the strap to make sure the Gauss Sabot MK-III Sniper Rifle wouldn't fall off because I currently had only a single arm.
Now, I could use a bipod to set the rifle on Neia's back and snipe the motherfucker from above her like a filthy noob, but that's no fun.
「Wait, what's that?」
「A tool that will help us.」
Though this would be a one-time thing because the rifle is not made to handle the speed I'm going to fire the bullet from it at, it's all fine and dandy because I can make a MK-IV version later.
「Now, go straight up.」
「Okay.」 Neia complied and tilted to head up vertically. The Dragon_2 followed without suspecting anything.
Well, he probably did suspect some things, but I guess his desire to catch up to us prevailed victorious.
Anyway, I used some magic spells to make sure my body wouldn't be torn apart by the shockwaves.
「Now what?」 Neia asked me.
「Catch me.」
「Wait, wha-」 Before she could finish her words, I jumped off her back.
The turbulence of the shockwaves hit me like a concrete building hitting an ant and disoriented me for a fraction of a second.
I used a few short bursts of wind to steady myself.
It's the moment of truth now.
I spun in the air, did a 1080 with two backflips, aimed down the scope at the head of the Dragon who was curiously looking at me with an expression of 'What the fuck is this guy doing?', and pulled the trigger.
The next moment, the sniper fired a titanium slug at a speed of Mach 20 and blew his brains apart.
"Boom, headshot!"

The General Core {The Sphere}
The life cycle in the Sphere is on the brink of collapse because one of its elements, the Dungeons, have been exploited too much by the mortals. The group who created the Sphere already tried and failed with several modifications, because the original computer-like dungeon cores are too inflexible to handle changing approaches. So they try another type of solution – taking souls from other worlds to try to find a solution before the Sphere Cycle breaks down completely. The General was one of the best soldiers of his world, rising from the ranks of a private through Officer School to the highest command with honors. But when his world faced a zombie apocalypse, even that was not enough and he had to make the ultimate sacrifice. Now he is asked for a repeat performance of planning and controlling a dungeon and its spawns in a world that he knows nothing about… But what is the Sphere really? What is that [Xenotic conversion] he has to go through to even enter the Sphere? Something is really strange and he will have to find out what is going on to get to his promised rewards – whatever they will be. Being a soul in a dungeon core means that the General has better chances of finding hints to the truth about the sphere – a knowledge that would help him survive. And no, the sphere is NOT a virtual reality – the key to its secrets is the place where it was physically constructed (Author’s hint). This is a dungeon core story - but there are quite a number of things that I will do differently than common to those stories. 1) I will describe the floors when they are explored, NOT when they are build. Yes, that will mean it will take longer to get to those parts - but I think describing floors both when they are build and when they are explored destroys quite a lot of chances for suspense when adventurers enter the dungeon. After all, if you as the reader already know where the traps are, then you can't really be surprised when the surfacers encounter them. 2) How the world works (and how not) is an integral part of the story, so it will be explained I'm a world-builder first and the Sphere is NOT a regular world (as hinted in the synopsis above). Things will work differently than in your 08/15 default dungeon core stories - as the General and Gunny have already learned in the second arc (and more of that is already scheduled for the next weeks (July/Aug 2019) when the Sky Arrows continue to explore and evaluate that strange dungeon) If you don't like these premises, then I'm sure you'll find a lot of other Dungeon Core stories more to your liking. But if you are interested in more than "Dungeon builds another room and corridor in medieval earth" and are not afraid of a longer and slower story, then go on. I have two more stories in the Sphere, although they both have lower priority than this one: Shaleen the Wanderer (Adventurer, NSFW) (currently on hold after some chapters) Info's on the Sphere (System Docu and Short Stories) (irregular updates when needed) Current Status reports have been moved to a new discord server: https://discord.gg/EaHkXCfm9y
