Apocalypse: Living With A Cute Baby Chapter 32

Cui Chong sighed in disappointment.
"It seems that Miss Li Tao has a deep grudge against me."
Li Ran could not be bothered with him.
Cui Chong looked at Li Ran's back as she turned around and left. He shook the key in his hand and chuckled, "What a pity. I still have to see her every day."
A few of Cui Chong's men gathered around him.
"She would show weakness after starving for a few days."
"That's right, Brother Cui. A woman like her deserves bad treatment!"
Cui Chong then replied, "No, she still needs to gain some weight. It's better if she's chubby."
...
More and more people began to wander aimlessly in the safety base. Some of them got tired and sat down, while others were already lining up to get food from the canteen. The grunts of hunger could be heard from almost anywhere.
Li Ran searched for a long time, but she could not find a place that was isolated.
The washroom was simple and crude, like those where you would find in the countryside.
She did not go for lunch at noon and just waited until the loudspeaker sounded, indicating that it was already evening and people should be prepared to return to their assigned rooms.
However, the place was an unorganized mess. No one was lining up properly.
The person in charge shouted at the top of his voice, but it fell on deaf ears.
The process was dragging for too long.
Then. the person in charge announced loudly, "If you do not get into lines, we won't allocate you any accommodations."
"Who cares about accommodations? I can sleep on the ground. I won't die anyway, there are no zombies here. But I will starve to death if I don't get any food!"

"Yeah, there's not enough food provided. A lot of us hadn't eaten in a long time. We're so hungry that our minds are muddled!"
"Why do we have to queue? Don't we have number plates? Just call out the numbers!"
"..."
Disgruntled voices filled the empty space.
The person in charge's face darkened.
"There are still a lot of people outside who have not entered yet. Our resources are limited. We need everyone to understand and cooperate."
"Then do something quickly! We thought coming here would ensure our survival but in the end, you just let us starve to death! I could probably find some food outside and live on. Here, there's nothing except soil!"
"That's right! We are also being controlled! We have to work for you like laborers and we don't have any strength because you're not giving us any food!"
"..."
The person in charge shouted through the loudspeaker again to organize the crowd.
Li Ran's name was called. She was assigned to the second floor. Specifically, the first room on the left.
Most of the dormitories had two floors and a total of five rooms.
There was a dormitory that had eight people living in it, while another dormitory had a total of twenty rooms on the first floor.
Li Ran estimated that there must be at least a thousand people at the base.
In the room, there was one bunk bed. There were also two tables and two chairs but other than that, there was nothing else.
After Li Ran entered the room, she hesitated for a moment before choosing to sleep on the lower end of the bunk bed. She was pregnant, so she had to be careful. Climbing ladders would not be ideal.
However, just as she was about to sit on the bed, a girl beat her to it.

The person was smiling but she had a rude expression. Her tone was even stiffer.
"I sat down first, so this bed is mine. Do you have any objections?"
"Yes."
Li Ran answered directly.
The girl looked at Li Ran. She raised her eyebrows and said, "You are not qualified for this bed. I will fight you for it. I've practiced sparring."
Li Ran glanced at her coldly. She then said calmly, "Fight? Your thoughts are very dangerous. I'm not staying in the same room as you."
Then, she walked towards the door.
"What? Are you going to complain?"
The girl stood up and shouted. There was a hint of nervousness in her eyes.
"Are you even an adult? Complaining about such little things!"
"So what?" Li Ran sneered. She was very disdainful about the situation.
"Go ahead. See if anyone cares."
"Remember, my name is Fang Qiu. Go and report! Report me!"
Fang Qiu's smile did not disappear from her face. Since Li Ran had not left yet, she said to her again, "This bed is mine! You have no rights to it!"
Her attitude was extremely rotten.
There was not a hint of fear on Fang Qiu's face.
However, deep down, she was worried that she might be kicked out if things got out of hand.

Love Of Baybur [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
The Sultanate won a huge battle against their enemies of different religion, and now left them with only a piece of land surrounded by Sultanate's forces. Baybur, a yerliyya from a backwater place, is hailed as a hero after the war for his past contributions in a strange manner and is, thus, invited to a banquet prepared by the Sultan and attended by many Great Nobles. To Baybur, who had dreams of stepping on a higher stage in Sultanate's politics, and in his Orta's ranks, this is a chance for him to shine and rise. Yet he, and many in the banquet, knows that victory is far from over. And this presents a chance, with greater risk than before, to impress the Sultan and the Pashas of the Sultanate. Sanjak-beys and Aghas of the Janissary Corps all seek to devour their enemies, both in and out of the Sultanate. And Baybur, in the midst of this brewing storm, is no different from a fish dreaming to be a dragon. But a woman he meets at the banquet changes everything; his goals, his dreams, and his fate. After all, love, without expression, is a deadly curse. As a note, Cover is not mine obviosuly, and I write this both for NaNoWriMo and Writathon. To some history lovers and nerds who specialize in it, I know you might be angered quite a deal with some things I've written.(I get the feeling when someone talks wrong foolish things in a study I know, no hate) But this is a historical fiction written by a seventeen-year-old, don't expect much from me to know every single detail. Much of my research is surface level and some things are, well, to fit plot, are changed. So bear that in mind. For schedule/chapter thingt, there will be at most five chapters until I pass the 55.555 words mark. Each chapter will be around or above 10k+ words. It is also not edited, and probably won't be unless I find a great deal of time in my hands after November to see what I lack in where. That's all. Now go read, or leap to another fiction. Enjoy!
