"We don't know how long we'll have to live together. Why are the two of you arguing on the first day?" said a person who came from next door.

She had overheard their argument.

"You don't know anything! This woman is not like what she seems. She always uses dirty tactics! Tsk!"

She said it so loud that almost the entire dormitory could hear her.

More people began to gather at the front of Li Ran's room.

Li Ran looked at Fang Qiu, baffled.

She asked, "Do we know each other?"

"You don't know me, but I know you. I've heard a lot about you!"

Fang Qiu said arrogantly.

'She's causing trouble for no reason.'

"You're already so old, yet you act like a child. How pathetic."

Li Ran turned around and left after saying that.

It was not as if she had no other place to stay, so why should she put up with someone like her?

The person in charge was still shouting over the loudspeaker. All the shouting hurt his throat and he had already finished the two bottles of water in front of him.

He frowned and opened another water bottle.

Nobody knew how much time had passed.

Li Ran felt very drowsy. She kept moving her legs so they would not turn numb from all the sitting.

The person in charge was finally done with his microphone duties!

Li Ran hurriedly got up. Her gaze had been fixed on him all this while.

She was halfway from reaching him when suddenly, someone stopped her.

"Li Tao, right? Let's go back. Fang Qiu has left."

Li Ran was confused.

"Why would she leave? She was so adamant earlier."

"I offered to switch rooms with her and she accepted."

"Who is this person? This is ridiculous."

Li Ran murmured to herself.

She massaged her legs and sighed softly, "Thank you."

"It's okay, This is just a small matter. You can have the lower bunk of the bed. Do you want to go to the canteen together? It's time to eat."

"Okay."

Li Ran looked at her gratefully.

Then, she asked, "What's your name?"

"I'm Lin Ke."

As she said that, Lin Ke wrapped her arm around Li Ran's. The two of them headed to the canteen as if they were sisters.

'What a strange feeling.'

Li Ran's impression of Lin Ke was very favorable.

The canteen was bustling.

There was a sea of people.

Surprisingly, everyone was lining up in an orderly manner.

They received their own portion of food.

It was some rice, potatoes, and beans.

"Shouldn't there be more? You can't even spare an extra spoonful?"

Li Ran and Lin Ke were some of the last few people. However, there were still others and nothing like this had happened to them.

Lin Ke was not convinced and wanted to say a few more words but the staff left.

The two of them were left staring at each other.

"What the heck, just rice? Not even some water? How are we supposed to eat? I've eaten more when I was outside compared to this. What a lousy place. Did they think we came here to suffer?"

Lin Ke was furious. She looked at the pitiful amount of rice in her bowl. There were so few that she could even count them.

Li Ran took a deep breath and smiled. She pretended to be calm and said, "I'm not that hungry. I ate a little too much for lunch. Let's go. You should hurry up and eat."

She really needed to find a way to enter the mysterious space!

'I can't take this much more!'

They were sitting at a table and were about to eat when suddenly, someone took away Li Ran's bowl.

Lin Ke turned around and saw what happened.

She exploded!

"I'm really impressed! Are you serious? You're taking away her food? People like you actually exist? You've really opened my eyes!"

She immediately attracted the attention of a crowd.

"Give her food back!"

Lin Ke glared at the person and was about to snatch the bowl.

However, Li Ran stopped her.

"It's not worth it. There's no point in getting angry over such a meager amount of rice."
