Every important men in the tribe was present at the meeting called in the central village. They gathered around the great hall where the Chieftain and his heir used to sit. It was the place where every villager, blue blood or not, comes whenever they had concerns or requests from the chieftain.

Everyone sat at on their feet crossed legged as they lined up on one corner facing the chieftain's seat. Each of them had a role, specially the seven village leaders who also served as the tribe council. No one of them had any idea why this meeting had been called but few months ago, the healer was found intruding the border and they all think it has something to do with her—especially now that it was the Chieftana who was managing the household and everyone know how the Chieftana hates the roux blooded.

Roux blooded had a great significant in their tribe's history and since then, the Nanpeople together with other tribes expressed strong disapproval with them.

"The Chieftana comes in" the head chief's servant called giving everyone a heads-up.

"Respects to you Chieftana," Everyone in the room said in unison as they lowered their head but when they lifted it, they were surprised to see the Chieftana wearing red traditional clothing, something that was only worn whenever someone dies and whenever the island suffered from a tragedy.

"Chieftana? Why are you wearing red?" Everyone gasped except from Professor Owen. The villagers despised the color red because it was a sign of bad luck for them but the Chieftana was flaunting it in front of everyone without fear.

The Chieftana ignored the men questioning her choice of clothing but she had a reason for wearing this. She sat on the chieftain's sit which only aggravated everyone's reaction. Why was the Chieftana sitting on the chieftain's sit when the heir chieftain should be the one sitting there? Now that the chieftain is gravely ill, it should be the first born who should replace him temporarily until he recovers.

In the midst of everyone's chaos, the Chieftana suddenly shed tears "Men of our tribe... I am in deep distressed right now because of the tragedy that befell on the chieftain's family. Our chieftain is ill and our heir chieftain died today..."

"What are you saying Chieftana? The heir chieftain was a very healthy boy, how could he just died like that suddenly..?"

The Chieftana cried even more looking like a helpless woman. Suddenly someone entered the room and kneeled in front of everyone. They knew this person, it was the Baruk of Guvillage. He came in with a remorseful and a messed up face.

"Men of our tribe. Forgive me. The chieftain's heir was under my care when he died. I accept whatever punishment the Chieftana had for me" He said and lowered his head up to the floor.

"What are saying Baruk Gu? Please explain this matter to us?" Everyone was already in panic. If their claims were true then who could lead them now? The Highest God only favors those who have chieftain's blood and the chieftain's heir was the only male son of their leader.

"We were in a voyage when somebody attacked us at the line," The Baruk of the Guvillage explained, his face was still facing the floor "The chieftain's heir saved us all by sacrificing himself"

"Voyage? How could come was there a voyage at this point? Isn't the law only provides we can only cross the line every two years?" Professor Owens blurted in not wanting to believe what the Chieftana and the Baruk said. His words shook something within the two person who announced the heir's death.

"That is right," Baruk Tsu, who was Baruk of the place where the professor seconded.

"It was the chieftain's heir's request," The Chieftana sobbed, intentionally pretending as the helpless mother who can do nothing against his son's wishes. "He believed that there was some cure on the other side and so he insisted on going no matter how many times I refused."

"But being the Chieftana, you are under the obligation to secure the heir's—"

"Enough!" The Chieftana who grew tired of the men's reasoning shouted in a hard tone causing everybody to look at each other. She had never acted like that before as she was always kind, loving and gentle. She herself didn't understand where those emotions came from but thought of something to remedy her ruined self. She started it by sobbing tremendously.

"Wasn't it enough that I was grieving that you had to blame me?" Her fake cry gained everyone's sympathy as they thought that Baruk Tsu and Professor Owen were acting unreasonably. "Even though the chieftain's heir isn't my own flesh and blood, I considered him as my own son. How could you accused a grieving mother?"

"Nobody is accusing you Chieftana I apologize. I meant no harm" Baruk Tsu lowered his head to the floor. He knew that offending the Chieftana at this moment will not do him any good. By traditional law, the Chieftana is next to the chieftain's heir. "The death of the chieftain's heir is just so sudden"

"Aeden! What have we done wrong to offend the Highest God?" Someone cried when news of the chieftain heir's death sunk into their brains "What will happen to us now?"

"This is still a curse of the devil's child! We are doomed!" Somebody shouted.

"We are lucky our Chieftana belong to the Nanpeople" Someone blurted and Baruk Tsu suspected whoever it was, it certainly was an ally of the Chieftana, "She had great wisdom. She can bring us together and lead us all while the chieftain is ill"

"True. At this very point of time a brilliant Chieftana can light the way" Someone added that brought a smirk to Baruk Tsu's face. He knew already what was going on, so no one can fool him at this point. He knew how the Nanpeople wanted to rise in power that was why they are pushing the Chieftana up. Now that the chieftain's heir was dead, they will insist on making the Chieftana as the highest leader and the Nanpeople will become the powerful tribe amongst the seven.

"Great respects to you Chieftana," The other men paid respects the woman in red in order to convinced her even though there was still no decision from the council about the Chieftana's assumption in power "Please lead us all, we begged of you"

"Yes Chieftana we begged of you" New sets of voices gathered in and convinced her to take the chieftain's place momentarily.

The Chieftana closed her eyes, she looked utterly devastated with everything but then she held herself up as if it was not the time for her to mourn "If that is what everyone asks then I heartedly represent the great chieftain. After all I am his wife. He's burden is mine too, so I will be willing to lead you all until he recovers"

That same meeting, the Chieftana was crowned as the highest leader and Baruk Tsu, Professor Owens and the rest of the small tribes knew their fate is doomed.
