《The Genius’ First Love》The Genius' First Love

Two weeks unfolded fast and things went a little lighter than the week they had the Puente De Amor accident. Darryl was able to move a little better then and his speech was improving but he still couldn't move his legs though and so he went around the hospital in a wheelchair.

Willow had been discharged from Feather HealthCare and was immediately brought to the South to recover.

Dannah's surgery went well but she hadn't woken up until then. The moment she opened her eyes, Darryl was the first person she saw.

"Dee…" She called on him weakly confused as to what happened but before she could throw another question, all the things that happened in the bridge refreshed in her memory and she remembered it all "O my god Dee...what—"

"Shhhh...shhhhh," Darryl shushed her, afraid that her rising tension would be bad for her, especially that she just recently had a heart transplant. "Everyone is okay. Everything is alright,"

Although still confused and worried, she held onto Darryl's assurance and hoped he wasn't lying. However, as she couldn't help it, she asked, "The children?"

"They are okay. Willow had some injuries but she had recovered," Darryl relayed.

"You sound….bad...what happened?" Dannah immediately noticed his speech difference and realized he was in a wheelchair. "Your legs?"

"Dannah I'm okay..I've never been okay," Darryl told with sincerity. He was all worried the past few days that his sister would not wake up and seeing how she was flooding him with questions made him so relieved, "I was soo worried…"

"I feel exhausted but I feel fine," Dannah realized then that it was she that made Darryl anxious these days. It was obvious from how his eyes glistened with tears upon seeing her well. "What happened to me?"

The last thing she remembered was that she was shot by her sister and that she bled right through her heart. Instinctively she drew her hand to her heart and realized she had a fresh wound in there.

"You had a heart transplant," Darryl told her. "Your heart gave up and you needed a new one for you to survive. However, they had trouble finding a match and so you almost died,"

"Since I survived then it means I have a new heart," She meant it as a joke but to lighten up the mood. Seeing how Darryl was thankful she survived then it must mean she was really in a critical condition then. "I hope the Lagdameos didn't kill someone to get me a new heart,"

"L Empire being ruthless is already a history," Darryl was full of determination when he let the words out. "Hopefully we can all move forward. Thank you for coming back," The Lagdameo held his sister's face and caressed it. Things have all gone wrong since the accident that happened six years ago and all of it happened because of how the Lagdameos lived. Their ways were crooked and they just had the taste of their own cruelty. Hopefully he can change that but when that happens he fervently hopes that Dannah will be with her.

"Well for a moment I thought I'm going to follow Scar already," Dannah admitted. "I remember on the bridge when I got shot I called on him and wished if I was to die, he'd escort me to the afterlife. Afterall we promised to be together forever"

Darryl's expression changed when he heard his sister's words. Then gently he conveyed, "Well he is forever with you now," Darryl dragged his hands in front of Dannah's heart and smiled bitterly.

The girl thought Darryl was just trying to comfort him but she realized he meant something else. "What do you mean?" She asked, confused.

"I gave you his heart," Darryl revealed. He was the one who fixed Scar's funeral and he learned at the hospital that they took his undamaged organs and preserved them ready to be donated for those who needed it. Scar had left on his last will and testament that in case of his sudden demise, he would want his organs to be donated to those who needed it. So Darryl had Lawyer Yu fix all the legalities and look for the rights donees.

Luckily at the moment Darryl woke up and learned that Dannah needed a heart, he called for Lawyer Yu and the latter told him Scar's heart has not found a donee yet and so he tried to have the doctors see it matches Dannah's anatomy and it did. So then was taken and they transplanted Scar's heart to her.

"What?" Dannah was surprised for a moment but immediately understood it. Both her and Scar left some wills about donating their organs in case they'll die and so she knew Scar's organs were probably preserved by those whoever take charge of his funeral. That time however, she was held in prison and so Darryl took care of everything.

When everything sunk in to Dannah, she cried at it. She remembered Scar and how his life was cut short. Who would have thought he would end that way but that was his fate and she was just thankful that he came to her life knowing how beautiful of a person he was.

"Scar.." Dannah shed some tears and Darryl wiped it out from her cheeks. "Even when you are not anymore here, you still saved me,"

"He loves you Dannah and he was always true to his words that he will always protect you," Darryl cheered her up. What Dannah and Scar had was more than friendship, it was a sacred vow of companionship and devotion. It was a beautiful strong connection that Darryl knew her sister will forever treasure.

"Wherever you are Scar, I know that it's better than here," Dannah spoke, hoping her dear Scar would hear it somehow, "I know you are happy and at peace now. I promise I'll always remember you,"

Dannah said more prayers for Scar right then and Darryl just stayed beside her, making sure his sister had all the warmth that she needed for good comfort.
