Age Of Islands: I Can See Through All Things Chapter 10

Jack looked at the slaves and said, "Anyone who has experience of being the butler of a big shot, step forward. I have a job for you."
When Jack finished, the crowd chatted and discussed.
Soon, a few people stood out.
Jack looked at the people who came out. With a thought, the information of the few people appeared in front of him.
Jack's eyes lit up when he scanned them.
Unexpectedly, a middle-aged man who stepped forward was actually the butler of an Earl!
He had picked up a treasure.
The Earl was an important figure in a country.
How could the person they used be trash?
Furthermore, he was not familiar with this world. With this person helping him, he would definitely have less trouble.
So Jack looked at him and asked, "What's your name?"
The person hurriedly said, "Master, my name is Steve."
"So Steve, introduce yourself," Jack said.
He could not expose the existence of the system. There were many things that they had to say themselves.
"Master, I have been Earl Eide's butler for fifteen years. Because of the change in the kingdom, the earl was killed, and all the family members were captured and turned into slaves."
Hearing this, Jack nodded.
Following that, the others also introduced themselves.
They were all the assistants of the butlers of some minor aristocrats. They were not worthy of Jack's attention.
Jack nodded and said, "Very good. You will be the butler of this island in the future. Those few people who came out will be your direct subordinates. You will listen to my orders and manage this island well. Do you have the confidence to fulfill my expectations?"
When they heard Jack's words, their faces revealed ecstasy and they quickly knelt down to express their loyalty.
At this moment, their data changed again.
This was especially so for Steve. His loyalty went from 65 to 82.

It was just a little less than Eugene.
The change in loyalty lit Jack's eyes.
Loyalty was definitely more useful than soul contracts.
Especially in the case of the butler, all their actions represented the master.
Being sincere in helping him and being forced to help him were two completely different concepts.
Jack, who had tasted the benefits, was ready to add to the fire.
He pointed at Eugene next to him and said, "Those who are loyal to me, complete all my instructions seriously, and satisfy me, will all have a chance of obtaining freedom."
"In this incident, the Silver Swordsman Eugene performed very well, so I decided to give Eugene the status of a free man!"
With that, Jack took out Eugene's soul contract and held it high in his hand so that everyone could see it.
Then, he tore it into pieces in front of everyone.
In an instant, a ray of light flew out from the soul contract scroll and fused into Eugene's soul.
Eugene was ecstatic when he felt the changes in his body.
He hurriedly ran in front of Jack, knelt on both knees, and shouted loudly, "Thank you, Master Jack, for this immeasurable gift. From today onwards, I, Eugene, am willing to give up everything for you, even including my life!"
When everyone saw this, their eyes instantly lit up.
Most evidently, the Silver Swordsmen and the newly conferred butlers' loyalty had increased by at least 10%.
Eugene's loyalty directly reached 100!
This was a pleasant surprise.
It was just that Jack did not know what other use it had when loyalty reached its highest level.
As for why he chose Eugene, it was because Jack was strong enough now.
He could beat a Silver Swordsman without upgrading his skills, so Eugene's use was not that obvious.
Using him as a role model for others to see hope was also a good choice.

On the other hand, Jack knew it was only a matter of time before he annulled the soul contract with these people.
It was simply because a kingdom could not be ruled through soul contracts.
He might as well take it out in advance and let them see that he was clear about his rewards and punishments. Only then would they work for him seriously.
This was important.
Because even if it was Jack, he could not keep his attention on everyone.
However, once his favor was cast, there would always be people who had dreams and were willing to give up everything to exchange for this hard-won freedom.
These people could also lead others to form a virtuous cycle within the slaves.
Then Jack selected a few talents with management experience again.
One was an aristocrat who had managed the army in his town, his name was Enger.
Jack appointed him as the regiment commander.
He even selected a few loyal men and appointed them as the three battalion commanders under the regiment commander.
Then, Jack told them his thoughts.
Firstly, the slaves were divided into squads of 10-15 people, and the squad leader position was created.
Three squads made a platoon, three platoons made a company, three companies made a battalion, and three battalions made a regiment.
Indeed, Jack had brought the military hierarchy of his former world to this world.
This method would not be effective in managing civilians.
Fortunately, with the foundation of the soul contract and dozens of Silver Swordsmen, it was enough for this method to be implemented steadily.
After completing Jack's task, they would be divided according to the specific circumstances later.
Soon, with Jack's strong support, all the Silver Swordsmen dispersed.
A few of the highest ranking officers chose their own subordinates. The lower ranked subordinates relayed their intentions to their own subordinates once again. They then selected their lower ranked officials, and so on. After about an hour, more than a thousand people were separated accordingly.
Everyone entered the group Jack had prepared for them in advance.
Looking at the noisy slaves below, they were successfully pacified in a short time.
The butler nodded.
He was someone who had a lot of experience and naturally knew what a slave was like.
Steve's assistant asked curiously, "Sir Butler, what is the purpose of Master doing this?"
Steve nodded and said, "Master's way of doing this is to divide the original slaves into several groups. This way, the previous relationship between them will be instantly broken up. This way, everyone will have their own place and won't be as scattered as before."
"As long as Master gives the command, we can do anything. Why should he give out authority like that?"
"Hehe." Steve could not help but shake his head.
Only the weak could not bear to share their power, because they were afraid that the people below would rebel.
As for the strong, they did not need to be so controlling, because such authority was troublesome. The strong only needed to obtain benefits.
Of course, these people would definitely not understand these words.
Hence, Steve explained, "Some of the slaves are from the same family, while others have formed a group inside. If they continue like this, although it won't be a big deal in a short period of time, if it goes on for a long time, it will definitely cause injustice among the slaves. In other words, the weak will be suppressed and the strong will form stronger groups. At that time, it will definitely affect the orders from above."
"We have to thank Master for laying out the path for us!"

Grey [HIATUS]
I was originally fueled by anger and disdain to write this and looking back, most of what I wrote for this story was unplanned and a bit trashy. I kinda stopped having ideas for this, so I stopped in the end. If you're looking at this right now, you probably shouldn't read this because it's only 12 crappy chapters in and yeah... Sorry to the people who might've liked this. (Maybe one day I'll continue this, but for now, I have other plans) Grey, a prince, is unsure about what to do when he starts running away from an enemy beast tamer. He's unsure on what to do now that his father, the king, is dead. In the forest alone, he'll discover a small companion and a rogue. Together will they figure a way to take back Grey's kingdom? Or will they just die in vain? Let's be honest here, most of you probably like the fox aspect of the story the most. (BTW the cover design is made by me. Terrible, I know) I'm kind of done with writing bs descriptions that I might change in the future, plus I'm not very good with being thoughtful with quotes and stuff like that. I just write what pops into my mind, which is usually stupid things. So the description may or may not be accurate so I've changed it to being very vague.

The story will feature a stubborn and sometimes just plain weird female MC and those she cares about. Edit 02-03-22First mini arc is completed, am working on the second part. Note: this is my first time writing a Litrpg and the second time I tried to write a story which contains more than a few pages. So please bear with me and feel free to offer suggestions, positive criticism, and the like in the comments. A note’s note: the Litrpg part will be, especially in the beginning, slow going. While I like to think this story is going to be a Litrpg, it will not focus heavily on the mechanics. And finally, a note-like note of a note: English is not my native language and only me, myself and Word grammar check have looked at the text. If you see a horrible affront to the English language, please let me know. Enjoy!
