The Ancient Genes Chapter 426

The next day arrived….
Max walked out of his room with his towel and toothbrush to get in line. The life of a servant was difficult….
He was pretty sweaty as he had just returned from his morning workout.
"Did you see the newspaper?"
"Yeah, the son of Sir Zack has appeared it seems…."
Max's sleepy eyes opened up as he heard the two servants beside talking. He decided to inquire about it and soon came to know that everyone in the capital was already aware of his existence….
'Did the Old man plan it?' Max thought inwardly. At least a good thing that the article didn't have his name or picture…he didn't want fame as a noble. Not to mention, he would hate it if people started to stare at him while he walked through the streets….
Just thinking about the celebration organised for his return was enough to make him puke…
'Can you create another one of those clones using my life force, Andriel?' Max asked as he sighed. He wanted someone to replace him.
'That was something I created in Lisa's mind, if you want to manifest it in reality...it will require some major work…' Andirel replied.
'Oh! Let me hear it…' Max didn't think that she would give him a positive reply.
'First condition is the need of a connection...I know we are connected by love and fate...but I am talking about something more practical…'
'It's my fault for asking something from a pervert…' Max shook his head.
'No! I don't mean being connected in that way….I won't mind if you want to be though...Uhm! Anyway, I was talking about a contract….a connection from forming a bond…'
'I see…' Max nodded, it was not his fault for thinking in a different direction. After all, it was Andirel whom he was talking to...
Still, he was not sure about this contract thing. He just wanted to wait and see how things were going to go with others, could they find their spirits or not.…..
But looking at her, Max felt that Andirel wasn't going to leave him no matter what….
'After that, you can cultivate my Spirit Art...when you reach an appropriate level, you can separate your life force to form another clone…'
'Interesting….it can be pretty useful…' Max muttered as he thought about it.
'Interesting?..... N-No!! You can't do that….I am not..…' Andriel became flustered after hearing. She seemed to be nervous…
'What's wrong with your head? Do you think I am some perverted monster? Go and cool your head…' Max shook his head and cut off the conversation.
Andriel was usually at the peak of her pervertedness early in the morning….Max had already gotten used to it and hence avoided going into the spirit world during this time..

A few minutes later, Max walked out of the bathroom and headed to his room.
But when he entered the room, he was surprised to see a person sitting on his bed.
"What are you doing here?" Max asked as he looked at Lisa. He didn't realise that he wasn't in a perfect get up.
His shirt was loosely hanging on his body. Only one two his buttons were buttoned. Water was still dripping down his hairs onto his chest.
"Will you talk or just keep staring at me?" Max asked as he looked at her.
"Y-Yes!" Lisa replied like a soldier. She was clearly flustered. It almost made Max want to tease her, but he knew that it wasn't the right time….
"Grandpa sent this…" Lisa said as she handed over the two small pieces of ticket to Max.
"Hmmn? Movie tickets?" Max asked as he looked at her in confusion.
"He wants us to go…" Lisa said with a troubled look. She couldn't understand why her grandpa was suddenly interfering when he hadn't done so previously…...
"What will he do, if we don't go?" Max asked with a sigh. Why was life so tough for him?
"He didn't say anything…" Lisa replied. It was obvious a lie….her grandfather had clearly told her not to let Max loose...she had to maintain a grasp on her man…
Obviously, she wouldn't be saying something so embarrassing to Max.
"You want to go?" Max asked as he looked at her.
Lisa opened her mouth, her head seemed to be swaying sideways as well as vertically at the same time….
Max didn't know what to say to her. He just gave a look at the timing of the movie. It was around 5 in the evening.
'What a waste of time…' Max sighed. He was already having a time crisis because of being a servant.
He had felt that he was close to breaking through the 3rd layer of his Spirit Arts. Today was the day he was going to make the desperate effort...but now he had to postpone it...
"Let's just leave it be...he won't do anything serious…" Lisa said as if she noticed Max's thoughts.
Max looks at her and had obviously noticed her train of thoughts as well. He felt a bit odd, he didn't mind if it was a normal situation…but after what had happened…. He wanted to maintain a bit of distance honestly….
'I have never seen a movie...let's just go..what's the big deal...and how can you be so heartless after doing all that to her....' Andrel chimed in.
'I didn't do anything...you were the one who did it…'
'Hmm….didn't you enjoy it?' Andriel asked playfully.

'So, what if I did?' Max was still calm. He wouldn't be lying if he said that it wasn't an exciting experience. It was his first time being intimate with anyone...
But he didn't want to lose his sight. He had seen things and knew very well what possible future could be ahead of them….
It wasn't the time for getting distracted…
'Don't be so stiff….does the trial really have to be given so much importance? Just forget about it, don't let it bind you..' Andirel said as her tone turned soft.
'It isn't binding me….I just don't want anyone to end up like that girl because of me…' Max said as he remembered the scene. Even though he was living the life of someone else, even though those people were dead long ago, he couldn't deny what he saw….
'I will change your mind...just you wait…' Andriel was frustrated because of Max's decision. If it wasn't for this piece of his memory, she was confident of winning his heart long ago….
'Anyway, a movie won't do much…I might as well go and avoid angering the old fellow…'
Max then looked towards Lisa and spoke, "Let's just meet up in the evening….I will directly arrive at the hall since I have to go to the Academy.. ''
Lisa was suddenly stunned at the change in Max's attitude.
"Will you leave, or do you want to see me change?" Max said with a frown when she didn't move in a while.
"W-Who wants to see you change?!! I am leaving...hmph!''
Max shook his head and sighed.
….
"Where were you?" Elly asked as Lisa came back to the room. She seemed furious….and she seemed to be blushing as well…
"I just went for a walk…." Lisa lied without batting an eye and before anyone could say anything else, she spoke once again, "Anyway, we are going to watch a movie in the evening be prepared…"
"What's with the sudden plan?" Aria asked a bit amused.
"Well you two have been a bit depressed, so let's go and have some fun…." Lisa said another lie. She was just too afraid of spending time with Max alone.
"I don't want to..." Elly replied.
''I have already asked someone to get the tickets.....you two are coming." Lisa declared in a domineering manner.
"How are you ordering my people around...." Elly looked at her. She knew that she hadn't brought anyone along with her. It would be too wired if she called her family to buy movie tickets for her.
"I just asked them to buy tickets. I said it was you who asked..." Lisa replied with a silly smile.
She didn't know that she would be soon regretting her actions….
….
An hour later...
"A movie?" Axel asked in surprise. He was talking on his phone.
"What's with the sudden plan? I have to meet with the headmaster in the noon….'' He further said with a troubled look.
"Evening….Fine, I will make some time…'' Axel said with a sigh and hung up.
"It's tough having a girlfriend…." Wilson said as he looked at him.
"Sure is…..maybe I should just break up...I don't have time for this….I am wasting her time as well…" Axel muttered as he contemplated.
"Wait!! Why are you here? Go back to your own place!! This is not the place for your breakfast!!!" Axel lost it when he saw Wilson eating the breakfast he had prepared for himself.
"You really have learned to shout while I was absent…" Wilson said as a purple light sizzled around him.
Axel froze and immediately retreated while preparing to activate the formations in the room.
"It's been a while and you people still haven't changed I see.. " A voice rang in the room as the main door suddenly engulfed itself in black flames and turned to ashes….
Axel's eyes widened when he saw the scene. Suddenly a horrifying scene from the past flashed before his eyes. His action figure had been burned to ashes. He still had nightmares and panic attacks thinking about the incident.
That guy had returned!!
Axel immediately dashed towards the action figures on the table and collected them before running back to his room and locking himself up…..
"Your face sure has changed..." Wilson said with a smile as he looked at the guy. His face was almost unrecognizable to his past self. It wasn't the face itself but the look…..something must have happened…
"Yeah, I realise I was being too good to people….some people can't be changed….You can try but when the limit is crossed you need to give up on them..." The guy said as he looked at Wilson.
"Good for you…" Wilson said as he looked at him with a condescending gaze. He didn't like this blabbering. At least this guy from the past had guts to raise his fist and now all he could do was talk...Wilson had lost interest...
"I also realized something...I should have said it to you a long while ago…"
"Oh! And What is it?" Wilson asked with an amused look.
The guy smiled as he raised his fist before slowly raising his middle finger, "Stop whining all time b*tch…"

Never before has sending one of you off made me feel quite so guilty.” Whenever she found herself in doubt, she would weigh her actions against the guiding principles of the one whom she revered. “When you don’t know the rules of the game, start making them up. When you are constrained by unfavorable conditions, inject a little chaos.” It was the supplementary message that concerned Vera the most. It was difficult to follow because it was intentionally vague and mired in subjectivity. “How can I enjoy myself when you look so tormented? Are we in danger?” Vera fell silent. An experiment is taking place on a planetary scale. Across the surface of the planet, a phenomenon referred to as "Blight" is spreading. Festering regions defended by fierce creatures called “blightbeasts” taint the surface, warping the land and proliferating unceasingly.
