The Ancient Genes Chapter 442

Max sat there and continued the pointless conversation with Arnold. Alan too talked in circles, not bringing anything of importance….
A minute later, Alan stood up and walked away.
Arnold too stood up a few minutes later to leave when Max suddenly asked, "I don't see your friend, Master James today….is he not coming?"
Arnold looked at Max and smiled, "We are not that close…"
Max looked at his back, 'That guy must be busy stomping down his Brother's influence…'
Werner was with them, James wouldn't let go of this opportunity.
He hadn't heard any news in relation to the disappearance of Werner Ovens…the Ovens family must be looking for him…..
«Bahamut: Finally alone…"
A message popped up in front of Max. He slightly turned his head to see Bahamut sitting in the distance.
«Coward Cat: Yeah...»
«Bahamut: Remember the surprise I planned for you?»
«Coward Cat: Yeah...there was something like that..So what is it?»
«Bahamut: Can't show it here….»
«Coward Cat: I have a surprise for you as well….» Max suddenly smiled.
«Bahamut: Oh?»
«Coward Cat: Let's see who is better at surprises...»
«Bahamut: Sure, I don't plan on losing...»
Bahamut smiled as he suddenly sneaked out of the hall.
A minute later, Max got up as well and got out without anyone noticing.
….
Underground Parking Lot, 3rd Sector, Edwinson House.
The guards were chatting casually and didn't even notice when two figures sneaked into the place.
"So what is the surprise?" Max asked with a smile as he looked at the guy who barely made it up his waist.
Bahamut smiled confidently as he walked to the back of his car and opened up the trunk.
He then put his hand inside and dragged out a guy. The person's hands and legs were tied and his mouth was tapped.

Max looked at him and frowned. The guy looked familiar. He stared at him for a bit and finally realised...
It was Victor!
But why did his hairs turn white?
"Why is he with you? I heard he ended up dead in some accident…." Max muttered as he looked at Bahamut.
"Well, that doesn't matter…...he will be useful to us…" Bahamut said as he pulled the tap on his mouth.
"I told you...I won't do anything! Why the hell did you tie me up and threw me into the trunk…'' Victor glared at Bahamut. His behavior of being calm and composed could no longer be seen….his inner personality seemed to be leaking out…
"I brought you to your home? Do you expect me to take you out in the open? A dead person can't be walking out in the open like that..." Bahamut shook his head.
"Anyway, it's your time to work….you have been bugging me all along...here is your opportunity…" Bahamut further said as he pointed towards Max.
"Huh? What the hell?!! What is he doing here…" Victor's face turned ugly as he looked at Max. He hadn't given a proper look to Max until now.
"Oh? I didn't tell you about it….." Bahamut suddenly remembered that Victor didn't know about Max's true identity and explained to him that Max was actually Zack's son.
"F*CK! Another one! Where do you keep popping out from?!! No wonder you got out alive after almost killing me....just how many more of you are the-"
Before he could say anything, Max stomped his face, shutting him up.
"Is this guy going to talk to shit or help us?" Max asked as he looked at Bahamut.
Bahamut helplessly looked at Victor who was struggling under Max's feet. "You going to talk or would prefer a bit more torture…"

He then looked at Max and Max took his feet off of Victor's face.
Victor glared at Max but didn't talk shit anymore and only complained, "I want to talk to the Lord….what will this guy know....besides I have a lot of things to say to that old man..."
"Let me deal with him…" Max said as a black dagger appeared in his hands.
"Y-You!!" Victor was shocked when Max suddenly brought out a weapon. He immediately turned his head to look at Bahamut.
"I said I won't kill you...I never said he won't…"
"Goddamnit!! Fine!! I will speak!! I know about the people who went after your father and plotted against your mother, the person who is plotting against the whole family...." Victor gritted his teeth.
"Isn't it Saleos? I know it too...if you have concrete proof then let's talk...if not, you are worthless.."
"Do you think that person alone is enough to shake the family?" Victor sneered as he looked at Max.
Max's gaze changed. He obviously knew that…..he was suspecting it as well….
"So, who is supporting him?" Max asked as he looked at him.
"The Ovens House…." Victor replied as his eyes flashed with killing intent. He had some score to settle with James.
"Ovens.." Max muttered. These guys….good...until now the enmity between them was because they were on the opposite sides…..but now it was personal…..
"You want to talk with the old man, right? I will bring you along…" Max said as he looked at him. It was time to take action, the old man already had his doubts but he can't convince other with his words...
It was time to take the family under control...
"You won't just kill me after this, right?" Victor looked at Bahamut.
Bahamut ignored him and just put him back into the trunk.
"This guy is useful...we can't let him die….besides, I already have taken him as my follower…'' Bahamut smiled as he looked at Max.
"You took him as a follower?" Max asked in surprise.
"Didn't you notice? He had mutated somehow...he no longer is a human or a demon…" Bahamut said with interest.
Max looked at the trunk and released his domain. Everything became much clearer to him and the next instant, he was surprised.
This...why did it feel so familiar….
Max felt that the aura coming from him was familiar….it resembled more of a demon than a human but something was different here…
"So, what about my surprise?" Bahamut asked as he looked at Max.
"Yeah…" Max took his eyes off of Victor. He then took out a piece of red crystal from the spirit world. It was the third item from the auction.
He threw it towards Bahamut.
"What is this?" Bahamut asked in confusion.
"Look inside, it's a storage device…" Max replied.
Bahamut looked inside the red crystal and froze. He suddenly turned his head to look at Max. His tiny eyes were stretched out to it's limit.
He was shocked!
This...he couldn't believe it....how did Max got it!!
"So, who won?" Max asked with a smile.
