The Ancient Genes Chapter 520

Wilson looked at Norek with a frown. His eyes quietly scanned the area and he sensed several explosives planted all around the place.
These were regular explosives used for mining. It seems they had deliberately avoided using mana explosives as it could be sensed by beasts.
Even though these regular mining explosives weren't capable of hurting stronger creatures, it was more than enough to raze this place to the ground.
But these people had made a fatal mistake, unlike mana explosives, these explosives could be defused.
"Lighting field!"
Sparks shot out in all directions and the timers suddenly stopped.
Norek's face turned grim, he hadn't expected Wilson to have such fine control over electric currents.
He immediately raised his hand and shot out a ball of blames towards one of the explosives detonating it by force.
"Boom!"
The pillar collapsed and the whole structure began to quiver as the dust began to fall off the ceiling.
Norek then turned towards another one but before he could do so Wilson had made a move.
"No you don't!!"
Wilson pierced his trident right at the back of his neck and Norek had no choice but to move in defense.
Norek was trying to create some distance and detonate the explosives but Wilson stuck to him knowing well what was going through his mind.
"Bang!"
Wilson's fist suddenly struck Norek's chest while Norek landed a blow at his abdomen.
"Why the hell are you so soft? Are you a girl?" Wilson couldn't help but ask with a frown. He was pretty sure this person was a guy after all he had entered the washroom with him once back in Arcane and he clearly was standing while relieving himself.
Norek's face immediately turned a bit red and slowly it turned ugly.
"You were girly to begin with. I honestly thought that you had been born wrong...don't tell me you underwent surgery and changed genders…" Wilson said with a laugh trying to get him infuriated.

But he was suddenly dumbfounded when he saw him or her glaring with teary and rage-filled eyes.
It was only now that Wilson realised that he looked even more feminine than before.
Could it be...
"Yes, I changed my gender!! Do you have a problem?!!" Norek roared in anger.
His words immediately made Wilson speechless. He didn't know how to react. He had just said it to mock him and get him angry, how could he have known that his blind shot would really end up hitting the target.
And it seemed as if he had really hit her nerves.
"Do you know how it feels to be living in the wrong body? Pretending to be the guy when you are not one? Going into a gents washroom…when you have the heart of a girl but body of a guy..."
"Bang!"
Before she could say another word, Wilson had already charged at her.
"Y-You!!" She clearly hadn't expected that and was forced into a disadvantaged situation.
"I don't care whether you are a girl, a guy or anything else…I don't have time for your backstory." Wilson's disregard only made her furry surge and the two ended up engaging in a fierce struggle.
Only her family and few close relatives like Lisa and her family knew about him becoming her.
This was the first time she had talked about it with someone else and yet the guy had been so ruthless to not even hear it. This really caused her to erupt in anger.
…
"Scree!!!!"
Nathan hastily ran as a huge shadow hovered up above in the sky.
The commanding beast still hadn't taken him seriously at all and was just toying around with him as it had yet to make a move personally.
It continued to circle around the place near to it's nest and refused to leave the vicinity. As for Nathan, he was just a pest and being a Mythic Tier Beast, it was intelligent and had its own pride. It was a clear disdain on it's side for which it didn't personally make a move against Nathan and send its underlings after him.

The Bats under its command constantly attacked Nathan. The number of bats we're too large to count. They were enough to cover the sky and Nathan had really become miserable.
Even he couldn't deal with so many of them and was bitten a few dozens of times. It was all thanks to the antidote that he still had the ability to move around.
He just needed to hold on for a while until the structure which was being used as the nest was completely demolished.
As he was preparing to fire another ray of light, a chill crept up his spine and he immediately moved.
"Swish!"
A thin layer of water sliced a few strands of his hair barely missing his head.
Nathan immediately turned around to see Faryl standing in front of him. Even though he was surrounded by a group of students from Orca earlier, he was a celestial. The unlucky bunch had all been exterminated by him
"You guys really like playing tricks don't you?" Fary said as droplets of water began to conjure around him.
Nathan's expression turned serious and as he was about to attack, his pupils constricted. He immediately tried to raise his guard but it was too late.
"Bang!"
A first crashed into his back and sent him flying towards Faryl.
Mr. Cool had suddenly appeared behind Nathan.
Faryl was surprised but quickly reacted and attacked the incoming target.
Nathan gritted his teeth holding back the pain to engage in a fight with Faryl. But to his surprise, he was clearly overpowered.
Bahamut's brother was strong!
Mr. Cool looked at him in surprise. He really didn't think that the little guy's brother was already approaching the mid-stage of Expert Tier.
As Mr. Cool was about to join in on suppressing Nathan, a sharp whistling sound entered his ears and he immediately teleported a short distance away.
"You are fast.." The voice seemed a bit surprised.
Mr. Cool looked at the person and didn't recognize him at all. He had Orca's symbol on his chest though.
But the most eye-catching thing about him was the energy he was giving off. It was definitely not a second-grade energy like mana.
'So, they are finally coming out…' Mr.Cool muttered inwardly as he looked at the guy.
If Max was here, he would have definitely recognised the guy as he had met him once when he left Aria with Norek.
"Boom!"
At this moment, an explosion rang out from the direction of the nest and one could see smokes rising. But it still wasn't that devastating yet.
The Commanding Beast seemed to have realised something was wrong and immediately began to fly back towards the nest.
But at this moment, Nathan suddenly broke free from Faryl as he activated his true spell and immediately released a pillar of light towards the retreating beast. With that large figure of the beast, the attack struck.
"Boom!"
Everyone's heart shook as those red eyes of the Beast turned towards them. It seemed that it was not happy with the scheming of the humans.
The next moment, it opened its mouth and a reddish-back ball of light conjured in its mouth and terrifying pressure descended.
'Sh*t!' Mr. Cool didn't hesitate and immediately teleported away as far as he could.
And within the next second, the devastating beam of light grazed across the surface turning the night sky bright red and leaving behind utter destruction.
The attack blew away the people in the vicinity and even the one miles away could see the bright ted sky with heart filled with terror.

All the government leaders had known about it beforehand and had made an announcement, so there was little strife and instead excitement to loot the dungeons that the Change had created. Kyle Anders was incredibly excited when he saw his starting skill, called Exponential Mana Regeneration, but his excitement quickly waned when he realized it was almost useless with his starting mana pool of twenty. He had nearly given up hope on being a mage when his family got him a new skill for his 18th birthday. Suddenly, with his mana pool expanded because of the skill, Kyle’s mana regeneration shot through the roof. But while humanity worked hard to loot dungeons and increase their skills and stats, Change was coming, and peace cannot last forever. The story is currently on haitus. (This story is a work in progress. As the first story that I have ever written, the beginning, especially the first ten chapters or so, needs heavy editing. I have decided to continue writing the story instead of going back and editing the beginning. I hope that despite all its flaws you will still find my story enjoyable.)

Trials of a Magic Core
He was brave, and noble, and true. He was also a hunk of crystal floating in a magical circle, brought into existence by the self-styled "Greatest Magus of All Time" to be his personal intelligent magical encyclopedia, filled with every minutiae of the arcane this Magus could stuff into it, all ready and accessible at a moment's notice. But is simply knowing all there is to life? Can he strive for more? Should he? (Writer's Note:) I'm a pretty new writer, so expect delays, errors, inconsistent logic, plot holes the size of a small 4-wheeled vehicle, and a distinct lack of snark. At least from the MC. Also, yes, the cover is an image I made in paint. I have...NO artistic skills. It is a placeholder. Also, I came up with this idea in the shower after a nine-hour RRL binge. SO BEAR WITH ME.
