The Ancient Genes Chapter 523

"I will support you…" Mr. Cool calmly said as he appeared behind Max.
Max looked at him and nodded.
He looked at the Commanding Beast as his aura began to surge. He recalled his spear and it came flying back into his hands.
Max slowly began to walk towards the Beast and with each step, water began to conjure and bust out his feet.
"Roar!!!!"
A water dragon emerged from beneath and people's expressions changed.
Most people still didn't know what Max's power was, while those who were aware that he had Nature Affinity and was a Beast tamer were truly shocked.
Because a creature formed of pure element meant it had to be an Elemental creature.
It was already rare to see one and now Max had two. And those two were of fire and water element. It really was enough to turn people green in envy.
The Water dragon bared its fangs and crashed into the Commanding Beast as the struggle began.
The Commanding beast gave out angry screeches as it tried to rip the water dragon apart.
Water Dragon obviously wasn't its match but it still managed to bite of its flesh before getting ripped apart.
The Commanding Beast was finally injured...
But Max wasn't done yet. The moment the Water dragon got ripped, he immediately controlled the water to engulf the Beast's head trying to suffocate it as he himself closed on it with his spear.
The people nearby finally snapped out of the daze and moved into attack as well.
But half the way, Max's eyes turned grim and his figure instantly disappeared under Mr. Cool's exquisite control.
"Boom!"
A reddish black streak of light tore apart the water bubble and shot through the place where Max had been standing earlier.
The people who were in the same path as Max were instantly obliterated by the attack and a deep trench was left in the middle of the city running a few hundred meters.
"It's breath attack is too strong! We need to seal it! There is no way to get close to it with him shooting those things out!" Ren said with a frown.

"Idiot! Even if we get close it won't change anything as our attacks aren't powerful enough to penetrate it's skin.." Bayu sneered looking at him.
"Isn't your wind element the sharpest...why don't you give it a try?" Faryl asked with a smile.
"It's no use talking like this...we need to do something fast.." No one knew who this guy as he had deliberately covered his face and academy badge but he definitely was strong enough to speak with them.
And he wasn't the only one, aside from him there were two others who had similarly hidden themselves and were radiating powerful pressure.
Before the discussion could continue any further, another breath attack came raining down on them, forcing them to retreat.
"Scree!!!"
The Commanding Beast released another screech and suddenly roars began to sound all around.
'Sh*t!'
Everyone cursed.
It wasn't called the Horde Commander for no reason. It definitely had passed some kind of order.
"Kill it before it gets us!!" Farly shouted before taking out a ball like object.
"Everyone close your eyes!" He shouted before throwing it towards the Commanding Beast.
"Buzz!"
With a slight buzzing noise, the ball suddenly exploded and a bright white light flashed, turning the central area into a plain white sheet for a few seconds.
Even though they had retreated far away from the point of explosion, they could still feel a strong searing pain on their skin.
The Commanding Beast roared in anger and pain as it smashed the structure around turning them into ruins.
When the light subsided, the Commanding Beast's eyes had turned red while it's skin was badly charred.
It seemed to have weakened a bit. The people knew that it was now or never.
"I know you guys are holding your cards as well! Take it out before it's too late!" Farly said as he looked at everyone else.
Ren took a step forward and a piece of mana crystal appeared in his hand, shocking everyone.
Mana crystals were an important resource and it's management was handled very tightly by the Association.

Even a single piece was worth a fortune. It was something which could help a Grand Master and Supreme Tier Mages to pursue a higher realm.
One could just imagine how desperate those power houses were for it.
"Shatter!"
Ren crushed the mana crystal, raising the hair on people's body. Only a crazy person would do such a thing. Without Grand Master Tier Mage's control, it was a death wish to absorb mana from the crystal.
The Mana in Ren's body began to climb and his aura surged to the Peak of Expert tier, almost reaching half the way into a Master Tier.
"Bang!"
Mana exploded out his body, conjuring a terrifying gale around him.
"Tempest!"
The next moment, his body shot forward at a breakneck speed. Beside Max and Mr. Cool, there probably wasn't another person who could keep track of his movement.
Within a blink of an eye, his sharp blade which probably was even higher grade than Max's spear and dagger managed to slice off the beast's flesh.
"It's not deep enough…" Max frowned, the injuries were there but it was not fatal.
Ren noticed it as well when the Commanding beast's claw cane crashing down on him. As he was about to move to dodge , his body suddenly slowed down as blood gushed out of his mouth.
Max immediately moved and leaped high into the air. His eyes met with Mr. Cool and he was already onto it.
In front of everyone's surprised eyes, Max and Ren's bodies suddenly twisted and the two exchanged places.
"Bang!"
Max felt the impact of the beast's claws and blood began to leak out of the corner of his mouth but he had managed to hold on.
'Domain!'
The next instant, he cut off the beast's mana supply, weakening its defenses.
Ren who was suddenly in mid air didn't know what was going on but when he saw the defenseless beast below, he wasn't going to let it go.
He immediately clenched his teeth and even with blood flowing out his nose and eyes, he pushed his wind to the limit and came crashing down on.
"Swish!"
Blood splashed as a huge tear appeared in the commanding beast's wing.
The commanding Beast immediately went into a frenzy as a cold bloody aura erupted out of its body.
"Stop it!!"
Someone screamed and immediately people moved. No one dared to hide their cards at this point of time.
A barrage of attacks landed on its body carving a few more injuries on it, but none was as serious as the one given by Ren with Max's help.
At this moment, the bloody aura which the Beast was gathering reached its peak.
"Boom!"
Max felt a strong impact on his chest and felt his internal organs shake as blood splashed out of his mouth as he was sent flying away with debris of buildings which were blown along as well.
He didn't know how long he flew before crashing down and getting buried beneath all the junk.
'Damn, I was still underestimating it….is this the so-called Mana Explosion of a Mythic Tier beast…" Max muttered inwardly as suppressed the pain and kicked out the debris before climbing out of the hole.
But when he did, his eyes turned wide.
There was nothing left….
The entire central area was flattened and he was thrown quite a distance away.
Max couldn't see anyone else. Either they were buried beneath the debris or eliminated.
After all, if even he could have a few broken bones, he didn't know what condition others were in…
Max suddenly looked towards the Beast in the distance which was still in a frenzy shooting breath attack everywhere and sighed.
So, it has finally come to this....It seemed he would be testing his limits to see how far he could go...
'Well, let's see just how strong is it compared to me…' Max suddenly felt his blood boiling and the Ancient Manual began to circulate in his body as he felt the flow energy concentrate into a finer and purer form.
It seems the fight would soon be turning desperate and bloody….
