Falling For Miss Captain : LOVE Vs DUTY Chapter 5

The atmosphere in Belden was pleasantly nice. Winter had recently began; so the weather was not too cold nor hot. It was the best time to visit Belden for tourists.
Fascinating buildings, hill resorts, hot springs, seaside, historical monuments and museums were what made Belden the best tourist destination. Despite being a small country, it was one of the world richest countries due to its advanced tourism.
The capital of Belden was filled with different kinds of shops, hotels and restaurants. People casually walked past each other as they were all busy on their own. But many didn't failed to notice the dashing young woman who was too beautiful to be real! Though her outfits were simple, her beautiful looks and perfect figure made her stood out among the crowd.
Dressed in a white t-shirt which was casually tucked in her blue jeans, a gray cardigan which was up to her upper thigh, a gray sneakers and a small shoulder bag hanging on her right shoulder; Yelena casually strolled around the buzzy street, not even knowing that many pairs of eyes were watching her.
The fact that this gorgeous woman was an Army Officer, would not even crossed the minds of the people there!
Her captivating almond amber eyes shined like a bright fire which was in its full glory. With a sleek black hair, a V-shaped face, a curvy figure, a straight nose and a soft full lips which added to her feminine looks; she looked like a celebrity rather than a soldier. She was the perfect epitome of the saying 'Looks doesn't like.'
Amidst the eyes watching her, Yelena leisurely enjoyed the splendid weather and an enchanting scenery of her surroundings.
She knew that her brother always wished for her happiness; so she always tried to spend her time to the fullest whenever she was there. It was her brother's wish to spend his birthday there every year; so she always went there for him each year.

She entered the cafe and ordered a cup of coffee with some snacks. Then she sat on a seat next to the glass wall and glanced at the outdoors.
Families happily walking together; young, cute and lovable siblings; couples holding hands walking side by side; all sorts of people were on the buzzy street. The scene made Yelena questioned herself.
When did her life went wrong? A warm family, a lovable sibling, a relationship where she could be just herself; she had none.
She shifted her gaze and downheartedly stared at the floor. Though she hated to admit, she was feeling lonely.

After a long day of wandering around, Yelena stepped out of the museum where she spend a whole hour, watching some great paintings and historical treasures of Belden. She was about to leave for the hotel, until she saw a scene which caught her attention.
"I'm not a liar. Wait for a few minutes. My friend will be here and you will get your money." A young man said to the taxi driver. He take out his cellphone and tried to make a call.
But before the call was forwarded, the taxi driver grabbed the young man on the arm. "Do you think I would believe you? I had met many people like you. You are just trying to stall some time to fool me! Come, let's go to the police station." He pulled the young man, trying to placed him inside the taxi.
"How many times do I have to say that I'm not a swindler?! I forgot to bring my wallet. If you believe me and wait, I'll pay you ten folds." The young man retorted as he brushed away the hands of the taxi driver.
"Excuse me. What is happening here?" It was Yelena who inquired the situation. She saw the two men arguing from a distance and decided to take a look at it.

"This young man hired me without even having money. He even said that if I wait for his friend, he will pay me ten folds. He's such a swindler!" The taxi driver exclaimed.
The young man grew tired of the accusations. "I'm not a swindler. I simply forgot to bring my wallet." He repeated himself. His voice was calm yet deadly serious.
Yelena examined the young man who was standing before her. Since she joined the army, her character judging skills had greatly developed; and she somehow thought that the young man didn't looked like a swindler at all. Apart from his expensive clothes and enticingly handsome face, he had a powerful aura in him; which she finds it really strange.
"I'll pay for him." Yelena said as she handed the taxi driver a few dollars.
Her actions really took the young man aback. He didn't even knew this woman. They were complete strangers. Why did she helped him? While he was busy with his thoughts, the taxi driver had already left. The young woman who helped her was about to leave too. "Wait!"
Yelena was about to leave but as she heard him, she turned around and faced him again.
"Thank you for helping me out. Give me your bank account number and I'll surely pay you back." The young man opined. His gaze never leave Yelena. May be he was curious of the woman who aided him.
"No need. It's not much anyway." Yelena declined with a fainted smile. Before the young man could say anything, she turned her back at him and leave right away.
Yelena grows up watching her brother helping people in need, without even asking for anything in return. Then it became her habit too.
But she was not aware of how noble the man she helped out of good deed was!
A small smile was formed in Prince Felix's lips as he watched the disappearing form of the woman who help her out. Then a young man hurriedly approached him.
"Your Highness, you should not leave alone like that. Will you stop making me worry?" Cayden gasped as he finally finds his friend, who was also his master.
When he realized that the Prince was not paying attention to him at all, Cayden shifted his gaze to the direction where his Prince was staring at nonstop. Then he noticed that it was a certain woman.
"I want to know where she lives." Prince Felix ordered and still, his gaze never left the direction where the woman was.
Cayden instructed his men who were on standby at a distance. "Comply with the Crown Prince's order."

Someday, he’ll find where his family went. Someday, he’ll uphold his end of the bargain and hunt beings powerful beyond anything he’s ever known. Someday, he might even – hatch? “CHEEP!?” Things to Know: -Cheep!? Will release on a minimum weekly schedule. -After a backlog of chapters, posting will slow, but in the interim you can expect a chapter a day up until roughly 25 chapters. -This story at times will potentially carry some heavy moments, but the tone is intended to be lighter overall. -There are invisible game-like elements in this story, but nothing so concrete as a dedicated gamelit novel. -I personally have some issues with anxiety, so I may or may not interact with the community a lot. I'll try if anyone has questions, but I can't guarantee that it'll be consistent. -MC is a non-human lead, and will never actually become human. Romance will potentially happen between side-characters, but not with the MC. -MC IS NOT THE ONLY VIEW POINT. I have to put that out there because people sometimes hate alternate PoV's in a story. None of them will be filler, and they'll be there only to give a little bit more nuance and meaning to the world that the MC has stepped in, or is about to be imminently important. I'll try to keep them down, but this also helps to prevent me from burning out getting trapped in one view. -Most of all, I hope that this story is enjoyable to you, and that you have a great time reading it! -Written by Michael Adams, Cowritten/Edited by Summer Kent

The Tears of Kas̆dael
It was just supposed to be a game. A really, really great game, yes - but a game. Instead, Jasper got his heart ripped out by a brooding goddess and awoke to find himself in another world. No weapons, no skills. Naked. Trapped in a world full of ancient horrors, where gods and monsters still roam the earth, Jasper is forced to adapt quickly or die - and he's not ready to die. Good thing he's a mage. This is a high-fantasy novel with light LitRPG elements. It's not super-crunchy, but the system is an important part of the story. There is some light cursing and gore, but this is not a Grimdark novel. There will also be no harem. The current schedule is chapters on M-W-F of around 2000-2500 words, as well as occasional bonus chapters that provide background or insights into side characters. This is my first real attempt at writing a full novel, but the story is based on a world that I've been creating and re-creating since I was a child. I have an extensive "history" and religion, and even a semi-cohesive language system worked out, which will hopefully slowly shine through as the story progresses. I want to avoid having too many info-dumps, so I may from time to time post a bonus lore chapter that will explain some of the background for any who are interested.
