Falling For Miss Captain : LOVE Vs DUTY Chapter 25

Two days passed by quietly. Felix would always spend the whole day in the hospital while Yelena's family would accompany her at night. He used to have some rest at night but he hardly falls asleep.
It was around 11 p.m. when Felix received a call from Mrs. Vanessa Arista. He quickly picked up the call.
"Hello, Mrs. Arista."
"Felix, I know it's late now and you also needs a rest, but I can't wait to share this good news with you. Yelena finally wake up!" Mrs. Arista exclaimed from the other line.
Mrs. Arista was a bit surprised when she didn't hear any response. She thought that the man would almost suffer a heart attack when he heard the news!
"Hello! Hello, Felix!"
Unbeknownst to Mrs. Arista, Felix jumped out of his bed the moment he heard the news. He dress up, grabbed his car keys and stormed out of his apartment right away.
Mrs. Arista ended the call and turned to the doctor who was currently checking Yelena's condition. Her husband and father in-law were also there, standing near Yelena's bed. They also rushed over as soon as they heard the news.
"Doctor, how is my daughter?" She asked the doctor.
"Her condition is quite good. We will have a CT scan and other necessary test tomorrow. She will need at least 8 weeks of complete rest." The doctor informed Yelena's family.
"Thank you, doctor."
After the doctor left, Mrs. Arista send home the two men. They insisted to stay but the mother said that the room must not be too crowded for the sake of her daughter's recuperation. They finally went home after minutes of protest.
Yelena barely managed to keep her eyes open. Maybe the wound made her much weaker than before. She looked at her mother who keeps on staring at her with a worried face. At the same time, her mother also look happy.
She never saw her mother looking at her with such a worry face; so it feels foreign to her. She didn't know how to behave in this situation.
When she finally have a clear look on her mother, she realized that the latter really looked tired. Did she tired out herself from nursing her?
She was surprised at the possibility of her busy mother looking after her personally!

"Mother." She muttered.
"Do you need anything? Are you in pain?" Mrs. Arista replied anxiously.
Yelena used to thought that even if she dies, her mother wouldn't care much. She was fine when her brother who was her only son passed away!
But now that she witnessed her anxious face and worried voice, she questioned herself. Was she wrong?
"I'm fine, Mother." Yelena's throat was dry and pain which turned her voice hoarse.
"You are so lucky, Yelena. You have a man who love you more than anything else. He never stops visiting you during the past three days." Mrs. Arista stated with a smile.
Yelena didn't pay much attention to what her mother said. She thought that the man she referred to was Maurice.
Mrs. Arista laugh as she understands her daughter's thought. "You fool! I'm talking about Prince Felix. Maurice don't know about your accident. I thought that you wouldn't be pleased to see him; so I didn't inform him."
Yelena looked at her mother in disbelief. She was sure that she heard how she remained in a coma for three days.
Wasn't the Prince supposed to return to his homeland after the Peace Day? Does it mean that he didn't return? But...why did this made her feel happy?
"He is still in Silveren?" Yelena confusedly asked.
"Yes. He said that he cannot leave you in this state." Mrs. Arista looked at her daughter. "You love him too, isn't it?"
Yelena was always shocked by her mother's words. Her mother was the one who chose her current fiancé. But why was she so calm when she aked her if she love another man?
She thought that her mother would be angry if she knew that she let another man enter her heart!
"Yelena." Her mother calmly called her name. "If you want to break off the engagement, you can do it. I mean, I will do it for you."
"Why? You always want me to marry Maurice."
"I want you to be happy. If the one who can give you happiness is Felix, then I have no objection. It's fine as long as you are happy." The mother explained.
Was this how it feels to receive a mother's love? Does herself being sick made her mother's heart soft?
Yelena could not utter a single word. She close her eyes, recalling the only warm memory she had with her mother which was fifteen years ago! That exact memory was what made her unable to hate her mother.

Feeling warm by the old memory, Yelena fell asleep in no time.
Mrs. Arista went to the restroom after her daughter fell asleep. On her way back to the room, she bumped into Prince Felix who could barely catch his breath.
"Where is Yelena?" He gasped.
"On her room." Mrs. Arista replied with a bewildered face. She didn't expect him to come because he didn't respond when she told him the news.
She glanced at her wristwatch and wondered just how fast did he drive to get here? But before she could say anything else, the young man already rushed to her daughter's room.
Felix barged inside Yelena's hospital room. His gaze instantly landed on the woman who was lying peacefully on the bed.
Why was she still sleeping? Didn't he heard that she wake up? Did she lose her consciousness again? His excitement was quickly replaced by anxiousness!
"Don't worry. She fell asleep just now." Mrs. Arista reassured him as she walked inside the room.
"How is she?" Felix immediately asked.
"She's okay. She said she's fine."
"Can I stay for the night?" He asked again.
Mrs. Arista laughed. "Why is the honourable Crown Prince of Edeladon who is also my esteem business partner always asking me for a favour these days?"
But she sighed when she saw his haggard looks. "Okay. I'll go home for tonight. But as I said before, don't be too hard on yourself. You're a mess these days. What if my daughter dump you because of that haggard looks?" She teased him.
Felix immediately touch his face and hair when he heard the mother. Did he look that bad? It made him questioned his confidence on his looks.
Mrs. Arista finds his reaction very amusing. Maybe it was quite fun to tease the lovestruck Prince!
But she trusted this man. She had been doing business with him for a few years and she knows that he's a man of honour. Besides, he was the man who cherish her daughter more than anything else! That alone was enough of a reason to trust him.
After Mrs. Arista left, Felix sat by Yelena's bed and keep on staring at her face. Even though the woman had been lying sick for days, he still finds her beautiful!
A slight smile appeared on his handsome face and he was overwhelmed with joy! It's just three days but to him, it was like forever!
As always, he placed his hand on the bed and then placed his head on it. He too quickly fell asleep to finally have a much needed rest.

When Yelena wake up at dawn, she was startled to see the man next to him. He was sleeping soundly even though his posture would be very uncomfortable.
She was more than happy to see the man. But when she take a closer look at him, her mood dampened at once!
Just like her mother, why was he so pale? His once captivating eyes were also covered with dark circles! She then recalled what her mother said to her. Maybe he was exhausted from looking after her! The bags under his eyes were the proof that he didn't get enough sleep or rest for days!
She voluntarily lifted her left hand and caressed his face. His haggard looks and tired face gave her the urge to do so. But she immediately withdraw her hand when she realized that her action wake him up.
When Felix saw Yelena who was sitting on her bed, he rose from his seat at once. "Are you okay? Did I wake you up? Are you in so much pain? Should I call a doctor? Do you need anything?" He asked so many questions at once which earned him a chuckle from the woman.
"I'm okay. I was the one who wake you up. I can bear the pain. I don't need a doctor for now. And for the last question, I need water." Yelena answered in the exact order. She smiled when she saw him smiling awkwardly.
"Water? Okay." He poured a glass of water and help her drink it.
As soon as Felix put back the glass at the table next to the bed, he leaned towards Yelena and pulled her into a warm embrace.
"Thank you for surviving. I was so worried that I feel like I'm dying." He said in a low voice.....
