"Silly! Why would I leave you? I'd rather die than leave you." Felix chuckled as he gently embraced her.

This time, he was very careful not to hurt her. He embraced her gently as if she was the most precious treasure that needs to be treated with the utmost care!

"I'm sorry, my love. I briefly visit my family but the immense snowfall delayed my plane. I'm sorry for coming late." He calmly apologized to her.

His family? Yelena lifted her head and place her chin on his chest when she heard the word. "I'm sorry. You also have a family to care about, but you keep on staying here because of me."

It's been two days since she wakes up from a coma. But he was the one who stayed by her side all the time. He wouldn't leave her even when her family members came. But she was not bothered by it. So far from being bothered.

She enjoyed his presence so much to the point where the fact that he would also have a family waiting for him doesn't even cross her mind! She feels guilty for being so thoughtless.

"Don't be. I prefer to stay here anyway. At least until you completely recover." He slowly ran a finger through her hair. "If I return home while you are lying sick here, I won't be able to feel at ease."

"I promise. I will take you out of here and bring you to a nice place with a great atmosphere. You can continue your treatment there. Your wound would surely heal more faster at such place." He opined.

Just the thought of it made Yelena so happy that it gave her the urge to get better soon!

"Mother, is this your doing?" Maurice Serano angrily said to his mother as he handed her a newspaper.

'The heiress of TR Group and heir of Serano Group reportedly engaged for 7 years!' was the headline of the front page of the country's most popular newspaper.

It was still very early in the morning but the news spread throughout the country as fast as a wildfire! It became international breaking news in no time!

Mrs. Serano calmly sat on the couch, having a sip of tea. She seems to be very fascinated by the unique aroma of the blended tea from a foreign country. A sweet smile plastered her face as she inhales the pleasing scent.

When he witnessed his mother's behaviour, Maurice became more impatient. How could she be so calm after creating this mess?!

"Mother!" He yelled but close his eyes to calm down a bit. "Answer me." He asked in a surprisingly calm voice.

He was always a good and filial son to his mother throughout his life. It was the first time he ever raised his voice at her! So, he tried his best to remain respectful to her.

Mrs. Serano lifted her head to look at her son. "Is there any problem with it?" She simply asked as if she was doing the right thing.

"Mother." Maurice helplessly sigh. "Elen and her family already break off the engagement! What you did is wrong!"

"So what? They just break off the promise that stands for 7 years and act as nothing happened? They need to pay for looking down on us." Mrs. Serano stared at her son with disdain. "Your heart is so soft. You will just let them have their way after 7 years?" She shook her head in disappointment.

Maurice was at a loss for words. If possible, he too wanted to have Yelena back! But what could he do now? She already loves another man!

Losing his principles and turning into a villain because of love was the last thing he would ever want to do! Even if he cannot have her, he still wished for her to be happy!

He might not be able to fall for any other woman in the future. Even if that happens, he knows it will not be that soon. He will surely need time. But it's better than making her despise him even more!

Maurice could feel his heartbreak that was caused by his mother whom he respect and love the most in this world! Maybe he was wrong. His mother didn't care about him at all!

"I won't let you have your way, Mother. I once disappointed the woman I loved. I will not let it happen again." He shoves his mother hand away from his shoulder and walks away from her.

"Maurice! Come back here!"

Mrs. Serano repeatedly called his son hoping to make him turn around again. But the latter stormed out of the room as if he didn't hear his mother's words!
