Falling For Miss Captain : LOVE Vs DUTY Chapter 39

"Can I ask you why you don't like me being with your daughter?" Felix and Maj. Gen. Ethan Arista were sitting in the study room.
When Felix said that they won't go until they receive his permission, the father asked to have a private chat with him.
Mr. Arista raised the cup of tea brought in by the maid and took a sip. He then shifted his gaze to Felix who looked at him with a determined face. "You're not from Silveren, that's why. Besides my daughter is an Army Officer. Think carefully, Your Highness. Will your people accept a Silveren soldier as the wife of their Crown Prince? I don't think so."
It's the same. The same topic that creates an argument between his family! Felix narrowed his eyes, recalling the history and dispute between the two countries. Unfortunately, it's not a trivial matter.
"You are the future King of Edeladon. I'm more than sure that you won't abandon your position just because of my daughter. Let's look at the other way. Just in case if the Edeladons happen to accept her, I will still oppose to this relationship." Mr. Arista stated firmly and Felix looked at him with a confused face.
"Because I don't want my daughter to sacrifice her whole life and career just because she loves a future King. I won't have a problem if the career she chose was a business, a doctor or any other line. But it's the army and I'm sure you know what I mean. Will she be able to continue the career that she really loves, in your country? The answer is obvious, Your Highness."
Felix raised his eyes that were glued to the floor and look at the Major General. "I know that there are many reasons why we could not be together. But Mr. Arista, I refused to give up if there is at least a single reason for us to be together. And I already find that single reason."

"And what is that?" Mr. Arista asked indifferently but deep down inside, he admired this young man's nature. He was indeed a true royal.
"It's your daughter's happiness. As of now, Yelena is happy with me. And I will do everything to keep things that way. I want her to always smile happily as she did now." Felix responded firmly.
Mr. Arista was about to say something but Felix beat him at that.
"I can promise you one thing. If there ever comes a day when Yelena is not happy with me, if the stress and mishaps of our relationship outweigh the happiness; then I will get lost from her life voluntarily. But...I will give my all so that such things wouldn't happen." Felix concluded.
Mr. Arista's strong and formidable gaze fell upon Felix for a while and the latter also look at the father with his eyes full of determination. If any other men were in Felix's place, they might already cower due to nervousness as the aura of the Major General was no joke. But Felix was rooted in his seat while maintaining eye contact with the man at the same time! His action quite impressed the father.
While Mr. Arista's gaze was fixed on the young man who didn't seem to be nervous at all, he also didn't fail to notice the hidden message on his face.
'He had no intention to give up on his daughter and he was willing to do anything to keep her!'

Felix left the Arista Mansion with good news. The father permitted him to bring his daughter to the countryside!
But he still didn't accept their relationship. He allowed them to go because of his daughter's sake. The father can't deny the fact that he was the one who brings happiness to his daughter's life. Besides, he trusted him.
He returned to the hospital in a hurry as he was very excited to relay the good news to his lover. But when he entered the hospital, a familiar face greeted him.

"Hi, cousin." Prince Alonzo waved at him with a mischievous smile.
Prince Felix approached his cousin who was in the hospital lobby. Only one thing came to his mind. What was his playful yet problematic cousin up to?
"What brings you here, Zo? When did you come to Silveren?" He asked his cousin. He was a bit surprised to see him but if he showed any of that, his childish cousin will be full of glee; so he maintained a blank expression refusing to give him the honour to feel victorious!
Prince Alonzo was not pleased by his cousin's indifferent greeting. He made a perfect plan to surprised him and was super ready to witness his amazed expression but his calm cousin was as composed as always. "Hey! That's too much! Can you at least act like you're glad to see me? You're no fun!" He whined and pouted like a little kid.
Felix helplessly sighs at his cousin. They were the same age, but how come he never grows up?! He always spends his time partying and playing around with some girls! All he ever did was making troubles!
"Come on, Zo! You're not a kid anymore." He shook his head and walk past his cousin but the latter was quick to follow him.
Alonzo followed Felix inside the elevator and continued to bug him.
"Hey, Flix! I heard that your girlfriend is admitted here. So, I came here to see her!" Alonzo exclaimed, feeling proud for being thoughtful. He held his head high with pride.
"What's the need to rush? You will eventually meet her anyway." Felix calmly replied, not even sparing a single glance for his cousin.
"I'm very curious, that's why. I really wanted to meet the woman who makes you open your heart again." Prince Alonzo's voice trailed off a bit as he knows very well how Felix was sensitive to such talks. But to his surprise, his cousin was still very calm. Maybe he really recovered now!
"Wait!" Felix tilted his head to his cousin and glanced at him with suspicion. "How do you know that Yelena is here?"
Alonzo awkwardly rubbed the back of his head and avoided his cousin's suspicious gaze. He looked everywhere, but him. "Umm...I went to the apartment and..."
"Did my men tell you?" Felix sigh, feeling quite annoyed. His men should be aware of how troublesome his cousin was! Why did they send him here? They should make him wait at home!
Alonzo recalled the thing that happened in Felix's apartment last night. He threatened to hurt himself for almost half an hour until his cousin's guards finally gave in!
Though the two men were loyal followers of the Crown Prince, they cannot let him hurt himself as he was also a member of the royal family. After all, ensuring the safety of each royal family members was their duty.
Alonzo finally looked at his cousin with an appeasing smile, hoping that he would let him off the hook.
They then get off the elevator and entered one well-protected VIP room.
Felix immediately approached the woman who was sitting on a bed. His annoyed expression before was completely gone and his face was plastered with an exciting smile. "I'm here. Do you wait long?" He sat on her bed with tender eyes.
Alonzo stood next to the door with his gaze fixed to the woman who was called his cousin's girlfriend.
Oh my god! She's so beautiful.....
