"Did you come here as a General or my grandfather?" Yelena laughed at her grandfather who always comes with his uniform whenever he visited her.

"If I came as a General, will you still be sitting there in a comfortable position?" The grandfather teased her back. His precious and only grandchild had become quite cheerful despite being in a hospital and he was really grateful for that.

Yelena laughed at her grandfather's blunt joke even though he was telling the truth. If a General came to visit her, then a mere Captain like her won't be able to sit still!

"Grandpa, I think you and Father are very alike. You love to make fun of me with your high ranks. This is really unfair." Yelena whined.

"Don't worry, Yelena. Everyone in the army knows how capable you are. You are the best among your batchmates and the first one who was promoted to Captain. You will surpass me and your father very soon in terms of achievements. Who knows? You might even become the first female General of our country!" The General commented with a proud smile.

The first female Army Chief? Yelena's face slowly faded when she heard the beautiful title. Of course, it would be a huge success if she was able to reach that far!

"Grandpa, you know that I will have a chance only if I keep my job and stay in Silveren." She muttered. "And I don't think that's possible now."

The smile slipped from the old General's face. Just like his son, he cannot bear to part with his granddaughter. But what could he possibly do? For him, his granddaughter's happiness always comes first.

It was the same when he heard the news of the engagement. He confronted Yelena right away and asked her if she was willing to get engaged. He even said that he would stop the engagement if she wished to. But Yelena said that she wants the engagement to happen. That's why he didn't oppose to it. But it turns out that her parents told her to answer that way!

But as time passed, Yelena became quite happy with the engagement. So, that stopped him from pursuing the matter further. It became the exact decision which he always regrets!

"You have a good eye for men, Yelena. Felix is a great choice. As long as you're happy, that's the only thing that matters. You know, you can always start anew. Whatever path you choose, I'm sure that you will be able to nail it. Just like you do now." The grandfather calmly said to her. His voice was warm as always.

"I'm not sure about that. I only know how to use guns." Yelena commented in a joking manner.

The General's lips curved into an amusing smile. "Did you forget that you receive special lessons in business administration and management for a decade? You are good at many things."

When General Logan Arista noticed his granddaughter unconvinced expression, he continued with his words.

"The way you live now is one example. During your childhood and teenage years, who would have thought that you would make a great Army officer? No one saw this coming and you eventually surprised all of us."

When Yelena keep her mouth shut with many things in mind, the Grandfather decided to change the topic. "Do you know that the Prince personally convinced your Father to allow you to go to the countryside villa together?" He said with a playful smile.

"Really?" Yelena raised a brow. Wasn't her father strongly opposed to their relationship? As long as she remembered, the Major General was never the type to give in easily!

"Yeah. I already told him to bring you there but he said that he will go only after receiving your father's permission. Guess what? He convinced your father within ten minutes!"

"No way!" Yelena exclaimed. "My father gave in within ten minutes? Is that even possible? Then what did my father said?" She curiously asked her grandfather.

"He said he only allowed to let you go to the villa. He also said that it doesn't mean that he approved your relationship." General Logan Arista laughed as he repeats his son's unreasonable claim. If he didn't approve the Prince, then there's no way that he would allow them to go to the villa!

"I knew it. Father never easily admit defeat." Yelena scoffed at her father's stubborn nature.

From the start, she had confidence in Felix. She was convinced that he will make her father accept him. It was why she was never much troubled by her father's disapproval. But she didn't expect her father to give in this soon! Her boyfriend was really amazing.

"Have a good time there and come back with a healthy body. Okay? Our Silveren Army will look forward to your return." The General holds his granddaughter's hands and gently pats them.

"Understood!" Yelena breaks free her right hand and jokingly salutes her grandfather which was followed by a peal of light laughter. But the pleasant moment of the two ended very soon when the Colonel who was on standby outside, entered the room.

The Colonel was the right-hand man of the General who manages all his work. He respectfully salutes the General. "I apologize for disturbing, sir. But I'm afraid that it's time to return to the Headquarters. The meeting with the soldiers is only minutes away." He informed him.

"Well, I think my visit ends here. But I expect to see you in a good health next time. Do you think it's time for me to retire now? Then I will have more time for you."

Yelena rolled her eyes at her grandfather. He always tried to provoke her by saying that. "Grandpa, will you please just go?" She said with a seemingly annoyed face. "I think my man will arrive soon. I'm afraid that you will disturb us." She deliberately said to piss off the old General. A wolfish smile plastered her beautiful face.

The grandfather sighed in defeat. Only a few days had passed but his granddaughter had become so brazen and menacing! He rose from his seat, shook his head at Yelena and finally walked out of the hospital room.....
