"Here, Your Highness. I ordered a new phone with the same number as you wanted." Cayden handed a new phone to the Crown Prince.

It was already evening in Edeladon and the Prince was busy attending social events of the country for the whole day. He was currently on his way back to the palace when he received his new phone.

Felix immediately switched on the phone and try to make a call. Almost 20 hours had passed since he last talked to Yelena and he wondered if he made her worried. When he was about to make the call, a message notification popped up in his screen. When he saw the name of the sender, he instantly opened the message.

'Is everything alright? I try to call you since last night but your phone was switched off all the time. I'm about to leave for Agrana for a mission. I don't know if I'll be able to get a signal as it is quite a remote place but don't worry. I'll take care of myself and take care too.'

Reading the content of the message, Felix furrowed a brow. He knows that it was her job but it was quite harder than he thought. Will she be alright? He suddenly felt anxious, worrying about her.

He dialled her number anyway but he was unable to connect her. Putting down his phone, he noticed his heart that had become very heavy ever since he saw the message. He was not okay since last night incident but now, his condition had become twice... no... thrice messier than before!

Seeing the number of times she had tried to call him, he felt so guilty. She might want to talk to him so much since she will be leaving for a mission! Will she be upset with him?

Last night, he lost his mind for many hours. He was sitting in that cold floors until morning. He only gets ahold of himself when Cayden came to his room in the morning to remind him of all his schedules for the day! Only then he realized that his phone was broken.

Felix glanced at the window of the car he was riding and saw the streets and places flooded by people. The sight made him missed his life in Silveren.

Walking side by side with her in a buzzy street, their time together in the villa and even the hospital; he missed that simple and normal life. However, it was the life he could never have in his homeland, Edeladon.

At one room of Hotel Regency, Brigadier Lexus was sitting in a couch with Gina Larson who was sitting opposite to her.

Gina glanced at Lexus once in a while. She was surprised by the Brigadier's behaviour today. It's true that he was always quiet but not as quiet as today! She wondered what had gotten into him.

He was supposed to visit her in the morning and he already reached the hotel to meet her but he cancelled the plan saying that there was something urgent. Now it's 3 in the evening and he suddenly showed up again.

"Is something wrong?" She finally asked Lexus while forcing a little smile.

Lexus's eyes that once swept around every corner of the hotel room was now fixated on the woman before him. He keeps on staring at her with an unreadable face. After what seemed to be forever, he finally responded, "No. Everything's fine. How about you?" He asked.

The silence before almost killed the woman. Lexus never behaved this way before, especially when he was with her. Though she tried her best not to show it, his behaviour made her nervous. "I'm fine. I spent most of my time in this room." She tried to act as normal as ever. She pushed the couch where she was sitting, harder and harder and narrowed her eyes at the floor.

"It must be boring. Why wouldn't you just return? Are you scared that your father would act up?" He noticed her nervousness as he observed her and added, "Do you want me to talk to him?"

"No." Her once seemingly calm face turned anxious in a split second. But when she saw his surprised face, she quickly maintained her composure and fake a smile. "It's not about my father. I only want to relax here."

"Relax?" He muttered with a slight smile and shifted his gaze from her but it made the woman more nervous. He looked at her again but this time, his smile was gone. "Is threatening people your way of relaxing, Gina?"

The fake smile that she wore dropped in a blink of an eye! She looked at him with a seemingly lost face. "What are you talking about?"

"Don't try to feign ignorance." He maintained a calm face but there was an undeniable sadness in the Brigadier's eyes when he looked at the woman he deeply loved. "Gina, be honest with me. Don't put on an act, at least in front of me." His voice was still calm and gentle like the past.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Gina rose from her seat and turned her back at Lexus but the latter grabbed her in the hand.

He played the confession of the man which he recorded. Gina's body became stiff and her eyes widened when she listened to the confession.

"Do you know how much I wish that it was not you? I desperately wish for him not to say your room number!" Hearing his words and desperate voice, Gina closed her eyes. She was in pain, but she won't show it.

The Brigadier put away the recording and stood before her and hold both of her upper arms with his hands. He bent down to match her height and look at her. "Gina, this is not you. You won't go this far. Tell me the truth. Did something happen to you?"

Gina opened her eyes and her sharp eyes glued on him. She roughly shoved his hands away. "You already heard the truth and you also have evidence. What do you want me to say?" She snapped. "Just do whatever you want. I'm not afraid of anything now." She walked past him, trying to run away from the conversation.

Her sharp gaze and words break the Brigadier's heart. The truth was right before his eyes but why does it hurt so much? And why does she seemed like she was pleading for help? In his eyes, she seemed more desperate than he was!

"I still don't tell anyone." His words made her halted her movement. She turned around and look at him but Lexus was standing still.

"Felix is still waiting for the result of my investigation." He finally turned around and met her gaze. "I want to give you a chance to come clean and to admit your crimes. Please don't let me down, Gina."

When the woman was very quiet, he continued, "I've known you ever since you were a kind-hearted and innocent girl. Even when people said that you had changed into a different woman, I always believed that you still have that nature in you. Even this time, I still believe that there is a reason."

Seeing her seemingly indifferent reaction, Lexus narrowed his eyes. "You know that I always love you no matter how much you changed, right? I will wait for your call. I hope you make a decision which you won't regret."

He took his phone which was on the couch and walked out of the room. The moment he stepped inside the elevator, he felt his body that had suddenly become weak as if all his energy were drained out at once!

He pressed his back against the elevator and hold the elevator walls with his hands to support his body. To confront her like that, it was the most hardest decision the Brigadier had ever made in his life! No wonder it took a huge toll on him both mentally and physically!

Inside room number 501, Gina's indifferent demeanor instantly disappeared the moment Lexus left. Her legs had lost all its energy and they could give up any seconds!

Barely making her way to the couch, he sat down and instantly make a call in a panicked state.

"W -what will I do? Lexus find out ev -everything!"

"No. He still d -don't inform the P -Prince."

Her hands started shivering non-stop when she heard the command from the other line.

"No. P -please! I can't do t -this anymore! H -how can I do that to L -Lexus?"

"I b -beg you! P -please set me free now! I had d -done enough!"

Feeling more desperate and helpless by the last words she heard from the other line, Gina put down the phone with her shivering hands.

She only had two questions. Was death the only way to relieve herself from hell? Will she be able to set herself free from the chains that bound her?!

When Lexus finally walked outside the hotel, he saw people gathering around one place. He walked towards there just to know what had happened. He makes his way through the crowd until he reached the front and when his eyes landed on the scene, his face turned pale and he instantly stood frozen!

Lying on the ground with blood all over her body was none other than the woman he loved with all his heart!

"She tried to commit suicide by jumping off from this hotel." The people in the area murmured.....
