Magic Shop System Chapter 37

When the first ray of the day spread over the city, people started to gather outside the Shop in a narrow street—the news about potions spread like a plague and everyone knew that today Kadyn would sell potions. His shop had become renowned in Avibria City over a single night. Everyone was eager to hold the vials of the potion in their hands.
As the time passed the crowd swarmed into a small alley. It became hard to stand in a single place due to the rush and the cursing and shouting and screaming filled the entire street.
"Hey, take your hand off my butt!"
"Where do you think you're pushing!?"
"You stink, damn it! How long has it been since you bathed?"
"Do you think I won't say anything because you have a round butt and big boobs?"
Kadyn looked at the scene outside the gates of the shop and shook his head.
"There are so many people. How are you going to sell those potions?" Elora, who stood beside him, asked.
"Just wait and see. With increasing numbers of people, our profit will also grow," Kadyn said and headed to open the gate.
He eyed the crowd in front of him and said. "I won't lie to you. We have only a limited number of potions. However, there are so many people who want to buy it—if I sell to specific people, everyone would get dissatisfied. Therefore, we will sell the potions to those who bid the highest."
"Now we need to compete?!" a man said with little anger.
"Yesterday you said that everyone can buy potions!" another man voiced his indignant.
Others also showed their unhappiness. However, Kadyn continued to maintain his smile. "Of course, everyone can get potions. But not right now. After all, it takes time to brew them. It's hard to make so many potions alone in such a short time. Do you have any better ideas than bidding? If not, then we will follow my procedure."

Kadyn eyed the crowd and went on when no one said anything. "Alright. We have thirty low, ten intermediate, and five high grade potions. We will start with low levels." As he said, Hicka came from behind, dragging a large table—Kadyn placed the table at the center of the gate.
Then he put five potions on the table and said. "The value of these five potions is ten thousand. So we will start the bidding at ten thousand. Whoever bids the highest will get the potions." Kadyn said and peered at the vast crowd.
"15000!" someone said.
Kadyn turned towards the bidder and saw a brown-haired middle-aged man. He wore expensive clothes, his beard and mustache were trimmed. "Our friend has bid 15000. Does anyone want to bid higher?" Kadyn said towards the crowd.
No one spoke. Kadyn was disappointed, but he knew that it was just a start many people just wanted to see the show first. He still has twenty-five more low grade potions. "1...2...3...sold!" he counted upto three and passed the vials to the man who bidded. The man held the potion and smiled, looking at the corner of the street where Jenna was standing with a smile.
Kadyn wouldn't care, even if he knew that he was Fenon's man. After all he was giving him such an enormous sum. Why would he refuse the money from his enemy?
"Alright, next batch," he peered at the gathering and said. "The starting price would be the same. Start!"
So the bidding continued many people competed with each other. The man who bought the first batch also participated but failed to get his hands on any more potion. Other people weren't their just to watch the show after all.
Kadyn noticed that anyone who bid seemed to have a force behind him as they stood in groups and no one dared to go near them. However, he also noticed a lonely figure standing at the corner. She looked around a 20 years old lady with a curvaceous body and charming countenance and green eyes and black hair and slim waist and big boobs and sexy ass.

She wore a beautiful blue dress that enhanced her charm even further. In her hand was an umbrella of blue colour that painted a perfect picture of some classic painting—the strange thing was that no one dared to go close to her, either.
No matter who it was, they maintained their distance from her, peeking at her from time to time from the corner of their eyes. Kadyn was enchanted by her beauty. He had never seen anyone more beautiful than her in his life. He was just eighteen years old, and his blood was also hot. After all which man doesn't like beautiful women?
Kadyn took a deep breath and shook his head. For a moment he was distracted, but he controlled his emotions and went to proceed with his auction. He failed to notice a surprised look on that lady's face—surprised that he could resist her charm and curled her rosy lips. An alluring smile appeared on her face, and her brows arched like a crescent moon. Alas, no one saw that sight, as they had already turned towards Kadyn.
"Alright," Kadyn said. "Let's begin…"
"Cut to the chase," an arrogant voice came from one of the groups. Kadyn turned and saw a girl gazing in his direction with a proud look. She was rather beautiful. If that blue clothed woman wasn't here, she would be number one beauty in the crowd. She can even match Elora in beauty. However, Elora was just fifteen years old—there was a vast room to grow. But this girl was already around twenty. Her beauty was in prime.
Before Kadyn could say anything, the girl went on. "If we calculate the price of intermediate and high grade potions, it would be 125000. I'm ready to pay 200000 to buy them. If anyone can pay more, I will concede."
Kadyn was left stunned. He never thought that this woman would be so arrogant. Doesn't she fear other people? What if they became upset and tried to make things difficult for her?
"If Miss Zelie wants to buy the potion, I won't take part." A middle-aged man said and cupped his hands towards the girl he called Zelie.
Zelie just nodded without replying. It seemed it was beneath her status to reply.
"Haha, if Irabel House can back out for Miss Zelie then our Palius house also won't compete." Another middle-aged man said, snorting towards the man who first spoke.
As these two spoke, others also retreated one by one—Kadyn eyed everything dumbly. He wanted to know what was going on. Does that mean this arrogant girl has some kind of special status?
Hicka saw his confused face and whispered in his ears. 'That's Magic Association Leader's daughter."
"Oh." Kadyn nodded, understanding the situation. He eyed the girl with narrowed eyes and had the urge to slap her—if she hadn't spoken, he was sure to earn a lot. However, she foiled everything. To curry favour with her, everyone backed out from bidding. Left with no choice, he had to give the potions to that girl.
One of the man walked towards Kadyn and passed the money as he took the potion off the table and walked away speaking no word. That attitude incensed Kadyn. But he couldn't make enemies with the Magic Association. He knew that they could pinch him to death if he antagonized them with no power or backing.
Taking a deep breath, he calmed himself down and said. "Alright. All the potions had been sold. You will know about the next sale soon. Thank you for coming today."
As he said, he unconsciously turned—he didn't know why—towards the corner where the lady with the blue umbrella stood just a few breaths prior. He was disappointed when he saw the empty space. She had disappeared.

Tales of a Grim World.
Ancient prophecies say that once every thousand years, one shall rise to bring about a new age of darkness. A harbinger of evil, a being born for the sole purpose of sowing misery and disgrace. Through them, the world shall know of war, famine, pestilence and death— the four seals that herald the end of times. Besieged by the maws of evil, humankind shall suffer in agony as they watch everything they once knew be unmade before them. To oppose such a being, the whole world has had to stand united, in the battles that came to be historically known as the Great Holy Wars. Guided by the Saintess of Irithel, brave heroes coming from the four corners of the world had to sacrifice their lives in order to fight against the Harbinger and cast away the darkness. Our story begins in the year 578, a bit over six hundred years since the end of the fifth holy war. In the kingdom of Valtia, a small nation belonging to the Union of Western Kingdoms, an urgent missive bearing the royal seal arrives at the hands of Earl William Taylor. Though it might still be almost half a millennia too early for another Harbinger to be born, dark clouds already loom over the northern continent of Gram, as many bizarre events start taking place. Follow the story of our main characters as they struggle to survive in a grim, unforgiving world. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Warning: This work is intended for mature audiences and contains adult scenes and heavy descriptions of violence and gore. Saga of Fallen Kings, Book I: The Revenant Prince
The Philosopher King once conquered the known world, his power seemingly unlimited and his armies inexhaustible. Since that time his might has slowly unravelled, and his once steadfast empire has begun to crack, splinter and devour itself. In the isolated Southern Realms, where even magic has abandoned them, none of that matters. For years it has been filled with warring kingdoms, where as many kings die to the blade as to old age, and constant battles tear apart the land. When one such kingdom invades its old enemy, the King and his heir, Prince Caden, are killed. Unable to accept the loss of his family Prince Arian is broken, and when the Philosopher King stretches out his hand in aid, Arian takes it without a second thought. When Caden wakes from death, he's different. His eyes and soul have changed, and he finds a world filled with friends who no longer trust he's even human. Suddenly thrust onto the throne and indebted to the Philosopher King, Caden has no choice but to keep going - he must finish what his father started, and try to survive the machinations of the figure who now owns his fealty. Meanwhile something beyond death stirs for him, desiring nothing more than to drag him back into its embrace. Author's Note: This story used to be known as "A King of his Own", but after some consideration I have decided to rebrand it. The first reason is that I was growing increasingly dissatisfied with the title. The second is that I have come increasingly to view this story as a 'saga' containing multiple 'books' rather than one long, continuous publication, and as I did so I realized that as I was quickly getting to a point in the story where I wanted the first 'book' to end. This doesn't mean I'm going back on the things I said below - they're just going to continue in the next book of the Saga of Fallen Kings. :) Also, be aware that I do plan to edit this at some point. Though I take care to squash out any obvious errors when I proof-read, and do simple edits in that process, at some point I'm almost certainly going to do large edits that might significantly change parts of the story. Old author's notes: This started as a completely random writing session. There was no purpose or direction, but as I kept typing an entire world began to form in my mind that I knew I had to write about. My plan is to turn this story into a veritable medieval fantasy epic that spans an entire world, follows multiple character and storylines, and takes place over many years. The story has quite a grounded, almost 'realistic' start, but many more fantastical elements will be introduced, expanded upon and become central to the narrative. I have ideas for this story that make me genuinely excited and I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy writing it, and join me on what will hopefully become a truly massive fantasy epic. If you do enjoy this story please consider following, rating and leaving a review. I'm also happy to answer any questions or comments you have.
