While my hits connected, apparently this cultivator vitality is a little bit too much for my fatal strike to get rid of him. And that's a real pity as he continues forward, trying to completly avoid me!

While yes, I did get out of his way while using my devious sidestep, that doesn't mean I will let him attack Eve! I guess that this 'Predator's mindset' ability has its downsides to it. Of course, if I'm alone and my only target is to either survive or defeat my enemy, it can work wonderfully, but in the current situation with someone to protect behind me, using my capabilities to deliver as much harm to my opponent might not be the best thing to do!

As this man fleeting silhouette is getting closer and closer to my woman, I once again use the windslord special ability to propel myself forward, while forcing the circulating energy shared with Eve to burst out through the side of our waist. While I account this unexpected change of my direction that would surely happen with where I was aiming my sword, Eve couldn't expect a sudden bout of her energy to explode out of her, throwing her out of the harm's way!

"How dare you try to hurt her!"

As I fly through the air at breakneck speed, I shout those words as I finally plunge my sword deep into this expert insides. Thanks to the ability still making the better of my mind, I don't feel any regret from trying to kill him. I guess even if that wasn't the case, the sheer might of my love to Eve should shadow my moral regrets that were bound to appear if I killed not one, but two people in my first real fight!

"Get lost, you piece of shit!"

Kicking backwards, the sheer might of his attack managed to send me flying. Since I didn't want to let go of the sword, it got pulled off from the expert body as well.

At this moment, my happy times with Eve flashed in front of my eyes. If I was barely able to fight with this monster with the full use of my abilities, won't my significant other be powerless to defend herself?

With my desperation growing withing my soul, it feels like my body gets fueled with it! As I smash furiously with windslord at the ground to propel myself forward instead of falling backwards, I can only powerlessly watch as this expert launches himself at Eve. Even before I got to reach the point of our previous clash, I was forced to watch his hand shooting towards the cute head that used to be in my embrace just a few moments ago!

BURST!

If I thought that what had happened back on Eve's mansions courtyard was a disaster, then her action really showed me the real meaning of this word!

While she wasn't as powerful as me in terms of physical combat, it went without saying that she was really well versed in operating with her cultivation! Seeing how she managed to condense our energy into thin threads and overflow our paths with most of the energy in our possession, I could only wonder at her insane control over such a raging flow of the energy!

With a sudden burst, all the threads of energy that she made finally broke free from our bodies, speeding at impossible speed to connect with each other! Looking at her expression shifting from confidence to a puzzlement I realised that even she didn't expect such an outcome!

From my limited knowledge, I could assume that she just wanted to set this energy free outside of her body, to force this expert away by the sudden depressurize of the energy in the outer world. How could she know that this energy would instantly get attracted to the same thing happening in my own body?

But that's strange, up to this point our cultivation was shared, but using the energetical abilities didn't force the other party to do it the same at the same time. I guess that would be disastrous in itself! Can you imagine what would happen if she was training while I would be negotiating the prices of some artefacts on the market? just the thought of me suddenly erupting with power in the middle of the busy street was enough to make me shudder….

Or was it something else?

Maybe the strange thing that happened when our energy threads finally connected with each other was the culprit behind my reaction?

In a flash of light, I felt all of my mana suddenly vanishing from my body, as if those threads outside pulled it all away. Following my intuition, I braced myself for a lethal wave of energy to be released, when I heard the expert attacking us muttering some words.

"I won't fucking let you…"

I have to admit. This guy is a damn monster. Somehow he managed to break the connection between our energy threads, spliting them into two lines of power with him squashed in between them!

But how did he appear in the middle between me and Eve? Sending a quick look at the ground, I saw a deep trail dig up by his legs all the way from my loved one position to here he was standing right now! I guess even without our energies connecting, it was more than enough to push him away!

That would also mean that when he got hit by my own energy, with both forces of the same size pushing him from opposite directions, he had no choice but be squeezed in between them!

"RELEASE!"

With Eve's shout suddenly resounding in my eyes, the whole world shined like a star, before everything vanished as my mind faded away.
