While Others Cultivate, I Use My Unique RPG Leveling System to Cultivate Smut Romance With Their Girlfriends! Chapter 275

Locating the true body of my opponent put a smile on my face. Despite predator's mindset working at full swing, noticing the fleeting presence right beside the beast was somehow able to activate my inner greedy self, always happy to strike two birds with one stone!
Or to be more precise here, two obstacles with one barrage of spells!
"After the second thought…"
Putting everything in one basket, I started speaking towards the illusion or clone in front of me, releasing my vectors at the target below in the middle of speaking.
Most of the conscious beings would expect their opponent to finish the sentence or at least their word before attacking, so I made sure to do otherwise!
Tik!
Instead of a loud bang that people associate with power, my combined array of spells barely made any sound.
"You…"
CRACKABOOM!
Only when the fire drilled deep into the flesh of the best, did the shockwave announced the arrival of yours truly might!
Hidden behind the screen made of the dust that separated me from anything on the earth, I was unable to watch how astounding effects brought my attack, but even if there was a tiny little drive for me to go down there and spectate the show, it was firmly held in place by the cold rationality and calculative approach.
Would I gain anything from exposing myself to danger?
Is watching the fireworks worth putting my beloved one in Jeopardy?
No matter how fast I was trying to finish the matters, I was constantly urged to speed up with how quickly the energy in my dantian was drying up. Compared to before, it looked like Eve finally got serious and started using some real, powerfull moves to fend off the attackers.
On this point, I couldn't help but wonder how the hell did Katenaris influence Jelier to the point when he could allow such shenanigans to happen in his own city. Even if he were to turn his ass towards us and pretend that both of us never existed in the first place, with how quickly the Eve was using up the energy now, there was no way there wouldn't be any collateral damage both to the public and the arena itself!

It's finally coming to an end…
Watching down on the ground, I could see that this once immeasurable blob of the condensed energy was now withering down. With any other opponent, I would just use my remaining free mana to just secure the kill, but I couldn't forget how honourably did this beast acted towards me before.
If I were to just kill it without a care in the world, I would belittle all my morals so far!
Even if there truly was some kind of powerfull master behind the Katenaris right now, this show of force should be convincing enough to warrant the surrender of this beast!
Crack.
Just as I was about to use some minor shockwaves to dispell the dust from the air and inspect the scene, the illusion near me suddenly covered in cracks, before shattering down.
With a bad feeling arousing in my chest, I looked down once again, only to see that a new fire of energy took over the monster's aura!
Not happy with what was going on, I didn't wait any longer.
Two delicate shockwaves in the clouds beneath my feet were enough to clear my vision without putting to much pressure on my flight spell. But what I saw, was almost enough to make me stumble!
Right down on the ground, a monster was feeding on the lifeless body of the beast that I just fought!
Watching the situation with bot my energy vision and normal eyes, I could see how the inner energy contained in the very body of the magical beast was vanishing when its flesh was ripped apart and placed in the mouth of this strange monster!
What the hell?
This day was turning stranger and stranger by the moment. With all the insanity that was going on, I was closed to just giving up and risking my backup plan to just get rid of all the obstacles, catch Eve up and just go somewhere safe!

My line of thought broke when I realise that with every bite of the beast flesh, this dark monstrosity looking like a dark fire raging around a concentrated thing was getting stronger and denser.
If I just stay in the air and wait for something to happen, I might end up unable to even fight this thing at all!
Making sure to replenish the mana in my dantian to the brim for the last time, I gathered my strength and started casting.
I'm not supposed to face so much in a single duel. Others might keep saying rubbish, but this fight turned into something entirely different the moment the tamed beast turned out to be way stronger than its owner. The appearance of this damned monster wasn't my responsibility and I wasn't going to be the one taking care of it!
With just a single, weak fireball appearing in front of me, I located the place where the Dracons and Katenaris were sitting, before pouring thousands of mana points into my spell.
On the outside, it looked as if I was just taking aim at something while holding the attack for as long as it would take me to ensure my accuracy wouldn't be off. One had to look really closely and with energetical vision or cultivation equivalent of that ability to realise what was really going on!
When the fireball got infused with as much mana as my first sunflare consumed, I added the vector to the party. Even if I wasn't sure about its potential effects, I remembered what it was capable of when it was an evolved form of rank one level two spell, so I could only expect something far greater when basing it on a weak fireball!
Everyone saw its effect on a simple fireball, so I was quite curious to see how it would change my ace card!
Go forth, my spell!
As soon as I finished an additional cast of two weak barriers, I wanted to let go of the casting form, but something totally unexpected happened.
The spell refused to let go of me, and suddenly started sucking my mana out!
Fuck!
If I want to have any chance of escaping this place alive and well, I couldn't afford to lose even a single more point!
But just like back when I first brought sunflare into this world, I wasn't able to do a thing!
As the seconds ticked, the rate at which the spell was growing only increasing, swiftly getting rid of all the remaining energy from my mana pool. And then, it started feeding off the energy from my dantian!
NO!
THIS IS FUCKING TOO MUCH AND WHERE IT STOPS!
SYSTEM! UNLOCK VORTEX!
I wouldn't let anyone endanger Eve, even if that meant risking my own self!

But your prospects in this Malthusian world are limited. Johanna Milton and her friends have an answer: delve into Ancient ruins, avoid Changed beasts and mana pockets, and salvage Ancient materials, collectibles, and trinkets to sell. It pays well if you avoid the perils of the Ancient world. But when they find the skeleton of an Ancient, their lives take a strange turn. Suddenly, Talents straight out of fantasy novels become theirs. While they try to make sense of what happens, eyes turn to them, to the four who seem to break all rules. Or are they merely following them? Because, in the Beyond where he's spent 150 years waiting, one dead Ancient knows the truth. Douglas Moore has played those games often enough when he was alive to make sense of the System that rules the Changed world. He can no longer act on his own, but he has access to the Interface. And four people for which he can bring whatever it takes to face the world. Change is coming. The Changed Ones is a slow-burn litrpg fantasy trilogy (Ancient Bones, Ancient Books, Ancient Bonds) set on Earth, 150 years after the RPG Apocalypse... which mostly failed. Keywords: LitRPG, realistic setting, low-leveling, post-post-apocalypse, fantasy earth, slow-burn, secondary POVs, female primary MC, team adventure, worldbuilding. Trigger warnings: casual swearing, adult innuendo (no explicit scenes whatsoever, though). Oh, and potentially a bit of politics. Bonus content: a Litrpg Easter Egg hunt. With lots of eggs across the book, some easy, some hard to find. Current score: 6/20 (20 eggs, 6 found) Publication schedule: on hold until September for book 2.
