What did just happen…

Pulling my hands out of the freezing coffin where Eve's real body was still located, I couldn't even be bothered with the insane pain akin to nothing I have ever experienced. Simply letting my own regenerative forces take care of the prevailing pain, I just stared at Eve's in her deep, freezing sleep, before finally turning my attention to where it should be.

*Bonger?*

With the words that Eve left me with just before the collapse, if I wanted to understand a thing of what had happened towards the end of our quick reunion, only my trusty system could help me out here.

"Do you prefer the short version or the long one?"

With the potential weigh of this yet another revelation that was about to hit me, I couldn't stay on my legs any longer. Sliding down one of the columns supporting the roof of this underground room, I sat directly on the floor.

"What Eve was trying to do before I stopped her… Was to use her own soul to fill the void inside yours. Using the link of the dual spirituality, she was ready to sacrifice her own self just in order to let you move on."

Just the first sentence uttered by the Bonger was enough to catch my heart in a grip and hold it tight for as long as it took me to realise the most important part of what he said.

"Yeah. To cut this matter short just like you wished me to do, instead of letting her sacrifice herself, I created an embryo out of the part of her soul and indeed moved it to your own body. Right now, whenever you grow, whenever you cultivate… Hah, whenever you will be even recovering to your full strength, this embryo will grow with you. While it's by no means a way to save her directly… A part of her that's in you, will be able to experience everything that you will, and when you will be back to meet with her personally once again, she will at least have something to experience with her full, real self, rather than just meeting with you for a few minutes."

Listening to this revelation, I could finally breathe out in relief. I felt that something strange was going on when this huge hole in my mind was being filled up with something even greater than the simple love we shared, and couldn't rest with the number of worries it caused me. With everything explained, I could finally rest easy.

Standing up, I patted myself on the chest, as if that small thing could be later transferred to Eve, and raised my sight once again on her lifeless body.

*Is that all then? Did she suffer some mental injuries before you stopped her from that damned stupid sacrifice?*

"No, it doesn't look like it, but her strength was fully sapped. With how you were the only one capable of growing previously, that would put a long cooldown on the ability to meet with her in the mental plane, but that's where the other part of the embryo comes in. Remember the part of your strength being divided between you and Eve's soul? Whenever you will reunite, that saved up strength could be used to either prolong your meeting…��

Hearing the strange stop in the middle of his sentence, I couldn't help but feel the hope grow in my heart as if the last part of what Bonger was going to say could revive my dreams of healing Eve and allowing her to fully return back to life.

"... or increase the strength of her own soul, which might lead to her being capable of healing herself up before that wound would kill her. But there is something that you need to know, and this is something insanely important, so focus and listen."

Sensing the change of Bonger's tone, I knew that the hard part of that good news finally was about to come. No matter the world, no matter the magic, there always was a cost to something, so there was no way that all those positive information wouldn't be counterweighted by something equally horrible!

When the embryo will grow strong enough… You might be able to suck the rest of Eve's soul out of her own body, and transfer it to another one, as long as it is powerful enough to contain her overgrown soul… But there is a cost to all of this. With the embryo taking almost a physical form, and the link between your souls… If you ever dare to come inside a fertile girl, and that act will lead towards her bearing a child… That child's body will be inhabited by said embryo!"

Eh? That was the cost? Like, for all the good stuff that just reached my ears, all I had to be cautious off, was not cumming inside some random girl? Not even refraining from intercourse in the first place? While I didn't feel any bit of the pressure with my emotional parasite now gone, I had to recognise sex as a profitable source of statistic points that could directly translate to my own growth, and shortening the time required to finally save Eve!

"Oh, just shut up and listen. If the embryo will grow strong enough, you might even use a part of its stored strength, to project Eve's soul in its entirety on a foreign body! While it will be only a temporary fix, lasting up to a few hours at most, during this time, all the negative sides to this solution will be gone, allowing you to shoot as much sperm as you want, and looking at how much you love her, even more important part of this will be the fact, that she will be able to enjoy it fully herself!"
