Like a docile lamb he tagged after her, letting her pull him to her with her tiny hands that had become rough.

"Just so you know, I use Gu hospital."

She looked back at him and gave him a slight knock on the head.

"Ouch! Mrs Gu I am a patient."

Xiao Ai didnt bother to invite Lifen when she was leaving. She just dragged her hubby into the elevator and left.

Lifen:"...." Seriously? Mo Ai seriously?

At Care Medical Centre....

Not knowing that she had caused quit a fuss in her department, she just took her hubby to get some treatment.

Yusheng frowned at Xiao Ai. "I am a surgeon. Why do I have to treat this.." he pointed at Gu Bojing. "Do you not have your hospital?"

Gu Bojing made himself comfortable on the bed and spoke quietly. "What can I do? She dragged me here."

Xiao Ai wasnt in for their guy talk as she was impatient. "Just do your work and quit talking."

Yusheng didnt have a choice and had to tend to Gu Bojing. "Didnt you leave with Lifen? Where is she?"

Xiao Ai steped outside to make a call to Lifen. "Did you get it?"

"Yes....I got an handkerchief but it's only soon before she knows it's gone."

"Its fine...we will be done tonight. What happened with Weng xu Lou...you arent that irrational."

She sighed and leaned on the railing, staring at Xiao Ai from up. This friend of hers....did she deserve it?

"I know right. I just got angry that she set us up with those girls."

Xiao Ai nodded her head and was about to hang up when she asked. "How did you know she set us up?"

Lifen stood straight still gauging her expression from up. She carefully answered. "Its only common sense. Who isnt happy about your union with your husband? Shen Yumo isnt that foolish as to set you up with girls."

Xiao AI nodded and smiled. "You talk like you have common sense. You quack!"

"Xiao ai..."

"Hmmm...."

After a long pause and Lifen still didnt speak, she checked the phone to be sure the call was still connected. "Are you still there..."

"I am up here..."

Xiao Ai looked up towards the stairs and saw Lifen slouched against the stairs.

"I just wanted to say...go easy on your hubby. You never know how many eyes are on him." She paused and the two friends looked into each others eyes. "He's your only weakness. You can't deny it."

Xiao Ai hung up and walked back into the room. Somehow she felt that the tension she felt with Lifen was even smaller compared to what she was feeling between her hubby and Yusheng.

"What's wrong? Why the serious look?" She gave Yuseng a pat on the back. "Do you stare at your patients like that. How incompetent." She then turned to her hubby. "How are you feeling."

He smiled back at her. "Good. Especially now that you are here."

Yusheng almost cringed. He walked out of the room and rested against the door frame.

This kind of fate? How was one to avoid it?

She wouldn't....she loved Gu Bojing too much to do such things.

He was about to leave when he noticed Lifen slouched against the railings upstairs. She seemed to be in deep thought. All she needed to complete her melancholic look was a cigarette.

Lifen turned around to stare at him and she smiled. The kind of smile she gives when shes too tired. Except this time she wasnt smiling at him, she was smiling past him as if she could see his soul and read his mind.

He waved a hand and walked towards her.

"Cant you just have sex with me?" She asked.

Yusheng was taken aback by her question. "Dont you have manners? Is that all you want from me?"

Lifen placed a hand on his coat, she leaned in and spoke. "I cant want other things except from your passion. Your passion towards me in bed."

Yusheng stepped back and stared at her. "Is there really not a chance between us?"

She moved closer again. "Tell me...do you really want there to be a chance between us?"

Not quite understanding her question, he placed his hands in his coat and questioned. "And what should that mean?"

Lifen sighed and looked past him to stare at someone, she faintly smiled before answering. "Surly you dont want someone who is likely to kill her husband on her wedding night, do you?" she glanced at him and then past him before making her way down the stairs.

He stood there staring at her back until she disappeared before looking behind him.

Xu Ning was staring back at him. Her eyes filled with a mystery he couldn't uncover.
