Harry Potter: Blood Of The Dragon Chapter 205

Everyone came together that evening. The formation of the Order was a success, now all that remained was the division of labour and the goals.
"What are your plans, Magnus? From what we have seen, you seem to be really aiming to develop the country." Bobby asked him. He was very interested in learning about this. Magnus, of course, never hid anything from him. Due to this, he knew about all his companies, even the magical ones like Emrys Construction, which was by the way an awesome company in his mind, he had seen the construction site once. He also knew about MEDA, another amazing idea.
Magnus sipped on the lemonade, "Well, this is 1973's second half, right? Right now, the GDP of the United States is 1.04 trillion dollars. Meanwhile, ours is 192 Billion dollars. Nowhere near them. I want to surpass them, not in military power, but economic power, the military will improve automatically.
"However, I have recognised multiple factors that make this task impossible. One, lack of land. Two, lack of a large population. Three, lack of industries we can rely on. Four, our trade is not very good. Five, Infrastructure.
"I have already set my plans in motion to tackle the first two. The lack of industry is not something I can do alone. At most I can run a few big world-renowned companies, but we need more people to start things. The government needs to take a soft approach to entrepreneur laws.
"Next, the trade will increase as long as we solve the industry problem, and as the industries come and we have money, we can make infrastructure to support a sustainable economy.
"My goal is to increase the United Kingdom's land area by twice. I am not just trying to make it an export-based economy, but also a consumer-based economy, this way, even if there is some kind of financial crisis around the world, we won't be affected much.
"For this, we need to analyse the markets and capitalise on them. Become the best player in every field."
~He's... Crazy...~ Bobby thought. But he felt excited. Why wouldn't he feel proud if someday the UK left the US behind in terms of money and became the richest nation in the world?
~This is the King this nation needs.~ Tom was a muggle and he felt deep admiration for Magnus.
"With the correct planning, it's doable," Adrian said after thinking deeply.
Edgar nodded, "You just gotta say it and I will construct it."
But only Ted had a very important question, "All this is good, but let's not forget there is a dark lord out there after your life and the good days of the world."

Magnus nodded, "I will stop him, I am taking steps towards that too. And do not worry, no matter what happens, this project will not stop. Once we start this economic machinery, there is no stopping it. Ah, one more thing, although we are the founding members, I want you all to keep your eyes open for any new talent in any field. I have decided to initially create the Order of Merlin to be 25 members big. We can expand it later if needed."
But then Edgar spoke and came clear, "Just to be clear, I was also offered to join the Order of the Phoenix made by Dumbledore."
"Same here," Ted added.
"What is this Order about?" Magnus inquired, even though he could guess.
Ted answered, "Fight the Dark Lord, that's about it."
Magnus thought for a few seconds, "Hmm, I will probably join this order too, just for the name's sake. I have already started to prepare the Order of Merlin for any future fights with any Dark Lords. What I have is something they don't, immense wealth. I am developing magical armour for our people, it will decrease out fatalities by a great number. With time, I will poach members from that order to mine."
Edgar chuckled, "Hehe, I guessed you'd do that. Okay, let's decide what we need to do for the next year, we can have half-yearly meetings about future projects if you want."
Magnus agreed, "Yes, we will have many meetings but for the progress, we will have half-yearly. For now, Tom, you need to reach the rank of Commissioner, later I will transfer you to become the chief of MI5, after that you will run for MP elections and if possible become the Home Secretary or the Secretary of State for Defence."
Tom gulped hearing that. This scale was grand, he was to move from the crowds of ordinary people to the forefront of the government.
"Ted, you have done pretty well, you have elevated the status of all British law practitioners around the world with the multinational company. Your ideal goal should be to expand to other countries too. try to get into Africa, China and India, they have a big population. The initial returns will be low but slowly, as their economies grow, so will our market. You will also be my official legal advisor when I take the throne." He said.
"Aren't I already your legal advisor?" Ted inquired.
"You are, but nobody knows it. Now, Adrian, you have a big task. How is the creation of Private Security going on?" He inquired.

"I am looking for well-trained men. A lot of officers and soldiers from the Soviet Union are looking for jobs. There are also some retired American Soldiers. I have created a three men wizard team, they will be handling everything about them. Currently, I have started training 300 men. But I would like to get some contract papers like the ones we signed, they are special, right?" Adrian asked him. He knew those old papers couldn't be normal.
Magnus nodded and answered, "Yes, I made runes in them. They will notify me when a contract is broken. Each member of the order will sign it. And yes, you should get the members of the private military to also sign it. What have you named the company?"
"I would like a few of those contracts too," Ted spoke up.
"Me too, it'd be really helpful to find out spies," Edgar added.
"Maybe I can make my company's executive board sign it." Bobby thought out loud.
Magnus chuckled, "Okay okay, I will make a machine to mass-produce them."
Adrian agreed, "That's nice. And I have decided to name the new subsidiary 'The Golden Company'. Well, because you love gold and it will be used to secure your interests, which can be called gold." Adrian explained the name, but he was holding laughter.
"Hehe, it's a nice name. People would think it's some gold mining or trading related company when they hear the name. You just keep on expanding and modernising them. We will need to use them extensively in the future. Now, Edgar, history is going to remember you as Edgar the Builder. Your job is simple, construct and construct. While making money of course." He instructed.
Edgar laughed, "As long as I am in history books in the future, I guess it will all be worth it. But make sure they have a good picture."
Now, Bobby was left. Magnus had a big task for him. "Bobby, I want you to expand the Futuretek greatly. First, set up a large battery manufacturing facility. Dad is only interested in inventing them and not producing them. So we are going to produce the new Solid-State Batteries. We can name the company Eternal Energy Solutions."
Bobby wrote in his notebook, "I was already planning to set it up, as I want to research the feasibility of making a portable computer and telephones."
"Awesome. Next, buy a car company with all of its production lines. We will make FutureTek cars in the future. The designs will be made by my dad's small company. Other than this, I want you to start investing in all kinds of electrical items that our army or companies might need in the future. Maybe even start a weapons research division. Also, the most important part. I want you to invent a low-cost computer that people can put in their homes and various schools in the country can afford." He suggested.
But this left Bobby confused, "You do know that most people don't know how to operate computers and consider it a waste of money."
Magnus nodded, but he had a different long-term plan in mind. "I want our population to start learning about computers and coding. I want our next generation to be full of critical thinkers and not blind followers that work like robots. It will be amazing if children can slowly start learning programming languages from a small age, because computers are the future. It will start just like how alphabets are taught and then to more complex stuff like grammar.
"In just a decade, we can leave behind Japan in the technological field if this goes on. You are already at Oxford University, maybe you can ask a few professors to start compiling 9 textbooks for children from the 3rd year of school to the 12th. They need to be about computers, their hardware, software and programming. Then I will get the Department for Education to implement them. I will even donate lots of computers to various schools."
Bobby laughed. If this plan was successful, computers will become so famous that his company will make billions from sales. The more people got into it the more people will continue to invest in hardware.
"I bet those old men at Oxford will wet their pants when they hear about this. However, I will be going to the United States in August, I will be completing my Masters from MIT. I can start looking for talents there too." Bobby revealed.
Magnus nodded. No matter what, the US was way ahead of Britain in many fields. They invested in research and development at the right time and were now reaping the benefits, and they will continue to do that for years. He needed to take the right steps now or it will be too late and then there will only be the downfall of Britain.

Blightbane
Miscellaneous Notes: - I want to see about making a crude map of Shroud to help readers. - I also want to get back to writing Coalescence updates. Schedule Notes: - None for now, updates when I can. [ Thank you for your patience and support as I improve my writing and storytelling abilities. I'm also using this story to better develop lore that extends far beyond it. ] Thanks to another exceptionally talented artist, Hiroeth, Blightbane now has an official cover! Vera was alone again. “You’re completely unprepared. Never before has sending one of you off made me feel quite so guilty.” Whenever she found herself in doubt, she would weigh her actions against the guiding principles of the one whom she revered. “When you don’t know the rules of the game, start making them up. When you are constrained by unfavorable conditions, inject a little chaos.” It was the supplementary message that concerned Vera the most. It was difficult to follow because it was intentionally vague and mired in subjectivity. “How can I enjoy myself when you look so tormented? Are we in danger?” Vera fell silent. An experiment is taking place on a planetary scale. Across the surface of the planet, a phenomenon referred to as "Blight" is spreading. Festering regions defended by fierce creatures called “blightbeasts” taint the surface, warping the land and proliferating unceasingly. Among the sentient creatures of the planet, it is the Blightbane Guild’s responsibility to stem the tide. They endeavor to cleanse the land in a struggle of attrition, but they are losing ground. A young man named Caim has been uprooted from his former life and transported to The Shrouded Theocracy, an isolationist nation with fanatical policies. He must struggle to survive with only an unfamiliar strain of magic to aid him. There is a secret to this magic. One he knows very little about. He intends to explore just what makes this magic special. On the far border of the theocracy, a mage scientist named Inis discovers a revolutionary new way to infuse strength from defeated blightbeasts. Using herself as a test subject, this process allows her to grasp magical concepts previously thought beyond her reach. Though she tries to document any side effects that arise, something escapes her awareness. She is playing with a dangerous force that will claim her most treasured asset if she isn't careful. Everyone and everything on the planet is a part of the experiment. The experiment is a lie.
