The Rise Of Nathalia Carter Chapter 190

Matt watched Nathalia and Spencer leave, holding Mrs. Davidson's arms on each side. He buried his thoughts and heaved a heavy sigh. "Mum, let me take you to the hospital, please."
Nancy looked around and hated the disdainful look on the shop assistant as well as a few other customers that had the luck to see the show.
Normally, Amy would grab any opportunity to spend time with Matt, but this time, she excused herself as quickly as she could.
As soon as they got home, Nancy poured her anger out like a sudden summer storm. "Matt, ask your father to get you a position at the Davidson Group as soon as possible. We can't let Spencer have everything."
Born into a rather well-off family and later living with Curt Davidson, Nancy had always been spoiled and granted anything she wanted. Today she felt utterly disgraced.
The thoughts in Matt's head were already giving him a headache. He ignored his mother's request.
What's wrong with my son? He is definitely capable, but he just doesn't seem to have the ambition. She thought disappointedly. "Are you listening to mum? If you don't, then don't call me mother anymore."
Matt looked her into her eyes and replied helplessly, "If you want me to work at the company, you talk to dad, but I don't want to and am not capable of working there."
"Matt!" Nancy glared at her son, furious and frustrated, "What have I done? Over twenty years, I've raised you up, and now, this is how you treat me? Do you also look down upon me? You see me as someone's mistress?"
Nancy fell in love with Curt at first sight. Despite the fact that he was married and she even knew that he was an unreliable playboy, she decided to stay with him and raise his son, which she regarded as a great achievement. She was proud of herself.

Matt realized that he couldn't understand his mother anymore. Impatiently, he said, "No, I don't." while thinking, if you are feeling so pathetic about your life, why did you stay with my father, and why did you have me? You knew what life would be like to choose this path. You are not the only one suffering.
Tears ran down Nancy's face as she went on complaining, "Matt, you know all my life I've felt the threat of that woman. You need to help me. You need to be better than her son..." She moaned about not being able to win the title of 'Mrs. Davidson', about the injustice she had to suffer from, without acknowledging the fact that she was the mistress who took someone else's husband.
She claimed that she did it for the pure sake of love but knew very well what her real motive was. People were greedy. When they got wealth, they wanted a reputation. After they got wealth and reputation, they wanted love; and when they had all of the above, they wanted marriage, a title, and identity. More.
Matt suddenly found his mother a stranger. Have I never got to know her well enough, or has she changed?
"Enough, mum!" he snapped.
He doesn't see you as his brother, so why should you care about him? He's just an obstacle to us, a nuisance we should get rid of. Amy will help you. She adores you, and for you, she's been very nice to me. You should be nice to her. We will need the help of the Berry's in the future."
"Don't waste your time. I won't marry her." Matt couldn't listen to his mother anymore. He said angrily. What has become of my mother? She's arranging my marriage to take over father's business, to inherit his money? Where did she get such an idea from? What am I to her? A gate to a wealthy life, a guarantee to be Mrs. Fame and Fortune?

Enraged, Nancy slapped Matt on his face and scolded, "Don't you dare say it again! What the hell do you want? Why can't you just listen to me? Do you just want to be a useless policeman all your life?"
Matt suddenly stood up and said icily, "Mum, I can't understand you anymore. You need to calm down and stop this nonsense. I guess you need some time for yourself. See you later."
Home didn't feel like home to him anymore. All he had to hear was complaints and annoying, even scary words. He didn't want any of it.
It wasn't that he intended to distance himself from his mother. He was forced to.
As he was about to leave, Nancy grabbed his arm. "Where are you going?" Is this a hotel room? He just came back, and he is leaving now. He just comes and goes! Doesn't he care about me at all?
If he does, he should be talking to his dad and helping us get back together. He's not listening to me at all. He has no ambition, no aspiration; he just works and works, as bloody police!
Matt took her hand off his arm and said, "I'm busy. I still have some work to do. You need some rest." He found his mother's aggressiveness rather repulsive.
Angrily and desperately, Nancy slapped the table and said, "You need to at least help me do something about that girl, Nathalia Carter."
"Whom?" Matt stopped. What's with Nathalia now? What does she want?
Recalling the incident of the other night, Nancy clenched her fists angrily. "Nathalia Carter. I hate her. If it wasn't her, your father would not have turned so cold to me. It's all her fault."
She had tried calling Curt, but Curt wouldn't even pick up. However hard she tried; it was all in vain. It's that little bitch's fault!
"Mother, that's your own problem. Don't blame others. She's innocent." Matt was apparently upset. Nathalia has been following her heart. She hasn't done anything wrong. She never has any bad intentions.
She was the one he treasured the most, yet only secretly as it could not be known to the world.
"Why do you have to go against me? I'm your mother! Why are you protecting that little bitch?! You have to make me angry, don't you?" Nancy picked up a glass on the table, threw it at Matt, and roared.
Matt dodged, and the glass smashed into pieces on the floor. He frowned, "Mother, calm down, you need some rest. Get those evil thoughts off your head." He sounded so calm that it was insulting and disdainful.
He opened the door. "Stop! You stay here! My goodness. What's my son doing to me?" She yelled at Matt and pounded her chest with her fist.
Bang. The door shut. Matt left.
I have to do something. I can't have it go on like this. Nancy thought to herself.
