"She's asleep. She's tired. It must be hard for her." Lisa said quietly.

Sophie looked at Nathalia, nodded, and asked quietly. "Did you ask her? How's Mrs. Davidson? Is she really getting a divorce? Why?" She couldn't hide her curiosity at all.

There were so many rumors and gossip at the campus, even the teachers were talking about it.

Lisa got Sophie a cup of tea and said, "My curious little cat, don't be too curious. It doesn't really concern you, does it?"

"Well, I do want to know, and, and I'm worried about..." Sophie paused for a bit, though it over, and said, "about Nathalia. It sounds like a lot is going on in the Davidson family. Nathalia must be worried."

Lisa lifted her brows. She understood what Sophie was thinking about, but she decided not to bring it up. "Nathalia is a strong girl. It's not much to worry about for her." She's been through a lot and much worse. This is just something trivial. I trust her.

Sophie took out a box of cookies from the cupboard, enjoyed the cookies, and sipped the tea slowly while pondering about the rumors. It's too coincidental. Just a few days after Mr. Curt Davidson announced that he was going to give one-third of the property to Matt, Mrs. Davidson went to court.

"I wonder if Mrs. Davidson is after the property. I mean, why is she divorcing Mr. Curt Davidson so suddenly?" She couldn't help asking again.

Lisa was busy with her work. She answered without looking up, "Perhaps. And it's nothing wrong."

"Poor Matt." Sophie murmured.

Lisa heard and instantly glared at Sophie. "Why? He has everything needed. He's much better off than most people. He's the son of the mistress and can't expect to be treated the same. If you were Spencer, wouldn't you agree?"

Lisa understood that Sophie still cared much about Matt, which she didn't expect to change yet, but she was trying to help Sophie see from a different perspective.

Sophie pouted her lips and dared not disagree. "There's always so much trouble in life." She sighed.

"It's not your trouble, though, is it? What do they say? Don't trouble till trouble troubles you, right?" Lisa smiled and said gently. "If there's any trouble you have now, it should be your study. I think that you should get your master as well. Perhaps a good university in Europe?"

Now that it was about her future plan, Sophie said excitedly and with determination, "Mum, I want to find a job soon. I don't really like studying." Sophie had been one of the average students since primary school, and she believed that school was not for her.

"Alright, if you get the accounting certificate within a year, then you don't have to finish university." Lisa sighed.

"Huh?" Sophie complained, "But it's so difficult!" Mum's being unfair. The accounting certificate isn't easy at all.

Lisa patted Sophie's head gently and said, "Not for my daughter. You are a smart one. Sophie, I don't expect you to be successful in the future, but I want you to be independent and happy."

It was the expectation Lisa had for her daughter. She had learned that Nathalia was not only doing very well in the subjects she was studying at university, she was also taking piano lessons and Spanish lessons.

Lisa didn't expect her own daughter to be as excellent as Nathalia, but she would like her to be at least independent.

Sophie pouted her lips. Though not really convinced, she understood that her mother was right. "Yes, mum. I will try my best." She nodded.

When Nathalia woke up, she felt recharged. The first thing she did was to turn on her phone. She was too upset and had turned it off when leaving the hospital.

Over ten messages were received as soon as the phone was turned on, all from Spencer, apologizing, pleading, sweet-talking. Nathalia smiled while reading the messages, then she put her phone in her pocket, stretched her slim body, and got up.

Sophie noticed and quickly came over with a smiley face, "Nathalia, did you have a good sleep? Mum just made dinner. Would you like to join us?"

There was a small but well-equipped kitchen in the company where the staff could cook if they liked it. Lisa used it sometimes to make coffee and some easy food. Tonight she made Thai green curry.

The pleasant smell greeted Nathalia's nose, and she replied excitedly, "Is it Thai green curry? Oh, I love it!"

"It is. Come. Let me get you a plate." Lisa said happily.

The three sat around a small table and dined like a loving family. "Lisa, you are such a good chef! You don't know how much I've missed your cooking." Nathalia grinned.

"Aww. Aren't you a sweet girl! Anytime you miss my cooking or us, just drop by." Lisa patted Nathalia's head gently and thought, I guess she just needed a good sleep. She looks much better now.

"I will." Nathalia nodded, and just then, her phone rang. "Hello?" She said casually.

"Babe, mum's awake, and she would love to see you!" Spencer exclaimed excitedly.

Nathalia was so excited that she jumped up from the chair and exclaimed, "Yes! I will be right there." She explained to Lisa and Sophie quickly and grabbed her bag, ready to rush out.

"Nathalia, just one second." Lisa quickly packed some of the curry and rice and passed it to Nathalia. "Here. You can't mistreat your body. Don't forget to feed your tummy. And this is for Mrs. Davidson." She handed her a bunch of flowers.

Nathalia was so touched that she gave Lisa a hug and said, "Thank you so much, Lisa. I love you." She had received a lot of love from Lisa over the past year and felt truly grateful.

Lisa walked her to the lift, saw that the bodyguards were there waiting, and said goodbye to Nathalia. "Take care."

Nathalia rushed into the room. Aunt Emma and Anna were still there. There was tension in the air, and they didn't look pleased.

She paid them no attention and went straight to Mrs. Davidson, seeing that she was sat up, awake, and exclaimed happily, "Mum! How are you?"
