The Rise Of Nathalia Carter Chapter 328

Nathalia said casually while watching Daniel observantly, "Mum was a great woman, but I wish she had known men better. She married the wrong man, the worst man in the world, and she ended up paying her life for it."
"What?" Daniel's reaction seemed strange. He looked angry and shocked. "That's a horrible thing to say. Mrs. Nathalia Davidson. Are you absolutely sure of it? Are you saying your father killed your mother? You know, as an old friend of your mother, I should suggest you not to…"
Nathalia cut him short, impatiently, "Save your suggestions to yourself. I'm not interested."
Spencer frowned and looked at him with disdain.
Daniel felt a bit embarrassed, but he went on calmly, "Nathalia, you are too extreme. I'm just giving you some advice as a friend of your mother, hoping to help you. You are going to have no friends but enemies everywhere you go. You will find yourself in great trouble..."
Enraged, Spencer snapped, "Shut up! Don't you dare speak to my wife like that! Get the fuck out of here."
Daniel gasped in shock, but he didn't leave. "You don't have the right to force me to leave. I'm here to see my friend..."It's the cemetery here. They can't kick me out, and I'm sure they will respect the dead and not cause trouble.
"This is my mother's place. And I don't welcome you here." Nathalia said righteously.
Daniel kneed down to stroke the photo on the tombstone as if he did not hear Nathalia at all. He heaved a sigh and said, "Kathrine, I'm really worried that your daughter will follow your footstep. She's so young still. Bless her."
Spencer found him most irritating. Is he really a friend? Why does he talk like he's cursing Nathalia?! He's really making me mad.

If he wasn't showing respect to the deceased, he would have thrown him a punch straight away.
Nathalia, however, stayed calm. She crossed her arms, looking down at Daniel, and said with a mocking smile, "Alright then, tell me your kind advice. What should I do?"She decided to play along and find out what he was getting at.
Daniel sat on the grass and said matter-of-factly, "Be kind, of course! Help people, help those in need."
He paused for a bit and continued, "and of course, help your only sibling left..." he paused, waited.
Nathalia lifted her brows. Here it is. He's getting to the point now. "My only sibling? Who do you mean?"
Daniel didn't look at Nathalia. He replied a bit emotionally, "Your younger brother."
Nathalia was shocked. "What?! I don't have a younger brother. What the hell are you talking about?"
Now Daniel jumped up angrily, "Isn't Zack Carter, your brother? Well, half-brother, but still. He's your sibling. The Carters have been ruined. Your father's gone missing, or dead. But your brother is still alive, living miserably abroad. That poor boy. Have you not thought about reuniting with him? Helping him? Looking after him?" He said emotionally.
Is he kidding me? He's asking Nathalia to look after that bastard?! Spencer thought angrily. He could still recall clearly how Zack almost beat Nathalia to death!
Instead of feeling angry, Nathalia laughed as she found it unbelievable. "I beg your pardon? Did you just ask me to help that bastard?"
Nathalia had by now pretty much guessed what Daniel was aiming at. She could have screamed at him and punched him badly, but she told herself to remain calm.
Daniel seemed to realize that he had acted a bit too emotionally. He smiled a sheepish smile and said tentatively, "You know, your brother was young then. He made some mistakes, but that was his parents' fault. They spoiled him too much. But I'm sure he has learned. You are the older sister. You should forgive him. Give him a second chance..."

'Bang!' A punch flew right at Daniel's face.
Spencer only had to nod at his bodyguards, and they knew what to do. He did want to show respect to the dead and not cause a scene at the cemetery, but what Daniel said was simply begging for a beat up.
Stunned by the suddenness and pain, tears ran down Daniel's face, and blood oozed out of his nose. He wiped his nose with his hand, and the sight of blood shocked him even more.
He glared at Spencer, more surprised than angry, "Spencer Davidson! Be reasonable! I'm telling your wife that she should care about her family. What's wrong with that?!" He shouted righteously.
It angered Spencer even more. This time, he threw a punch at Daniel himself, right at his right eye. 'Bang!'
'Ouch!' Daniel screamed in pain. His eye was bruised instantly. He moved a step away from them and pointed the finger at Nathalia, "Don't forget you were born a Carter! Zack Carter is your brother, and as an older sister, you are supposed to look after him..."
Nathalia laughed out loud, "Hahaha. Right. I was born a Carter, but I'm not anymore. Don't you know that Frank Carte kicked me out of the family?"
"I'm sure your father was just too angry and made an impulsive decision. He surely regretted it long ago..." Daniel defended.
"Even if he's really sorry, it doesn't mean I have to forgive him. So you think I should look after Zack Carter, give him whatever he wants, and when he grows up, I will give him the Carter company, and that makes me a good sister, right?"
"Well, yes. That would be the best..." Daniel nodded excitedly.
Nathalia was speechless. So this is what he's after? But who the hell is he? What's wrong with him?
Spencer didn't see the point of talking sense to him at all. Bang! He threw another punch at Daniel, this time, at his stomach. Daniel fell over and hit his head on the tombstone.
He tried to stand up but staggered and fell on the ground again. He felt like his head was spinning, and pain shocked through his body.
However, Spencer wasn't done yet. He jumped at Daniel and threw a few more punches at his face. Daniel finally managed to shout out, "Stop. Stop. Mr. Spencer Davidson. I apologize."
Spencer stood up, flapped his shirt a bit to tidy it, and stood next to Nathalia, looking down at Daniel.
"Nathalia, would you not even consider my advice? He's your only brother. He has no one but you now."

Legends of Balarel - A Leisurely LitRPG
Glenn Redwood has longed to become an Adventurer since he was a young boy, and has focused every waking moment on that goal since turning 14. Answering the challenge of the Gods of Balarel, he has fought Monsters, Leveled, and grown stronger. Yet the day before his 16th birthday, the day he will earn his dream or lose it forever ... the Gods have made a wager. And no mere mortal wishes to draw the attention of the Gods. ***** This is my crack at writing a leisurely LitRPG. My focus is more on telling interesting stories set in a world where people live under a MMORPG-like ruleset enforced by the Gods, and less on writing another story where the MC gets massive stat boosts every chapter before heading off to wreck the world. There will be plenty of blue tables (it’s LitRPG!) but my Adventurers are just starting out. This fic is about the journey, not the destination, so expect everyone to Level ... leisurely. Updates: M-T-W-Th. I’ll post 3000-4000 words a day, or 12000-15000 words a week. If this posting pace ends up being too much for me, I reserve the right to slow posts down a bit. Inspirations: Blessed Time (Royal Road) Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In a Dungeon? (Anime) Trails in the Sky (JRPG Series) MC: My MC is a genuinely good person who’s both a talented warrior and tactically savvy. He prefers to solve problems without violence but will resort to force if necessary to protect his friends or innocent people. I’m tired of stories starring anti-hero MCs facing endless doom and gloom, so I wanted to write a nice guy with an adventurous spirit who helps people in a thriving fantasy world. That’s all.
