The Rise Of Nathalia Carter Chapter 370

"Ok." Sophie took a look at Zack and hesitated.
Seeing that they were about to leave, Zack shouted after them, "Please, help me. Talk to my sister and ask her to help me please. I've changed. I know I made mistakes before, but I have changed. Please..."
Sophie paused, turned around to look at Zack again, and frowned. "Nathalia," she said, but just as she was to speak, she changed her mind, "was it chocolate cake you had just now. It looked delicious." Sophie didn't beg for Zack. Yes, he did look pitiful now, but she recalled how he used to treat Nathalia, and she had no pity for him.
Like mum said, everyone needs to take responsibility for what they do. I shouldn't interfere.
Nathalia smiled approvingly, "Yes. You should try it." Just as they were to leave, a clear and pleasant voice came from behind, "Nathalia."
Everyone turned to look and was amazed by the charming man standing by the door, tall, incredibly good looking, assertive, and royal.
Nathalia pouted her lips slightly and said impatiently, "What brought you here?"
Nate walked in with everyone gazing with admiration and curiosity. "I'm here to buy flowers. I'd like a huge bunch of roses, red roses."
"Cool. They will get it ready for you." Nathalia told one of the assistants to take care, and she turned to leave.
However, Sophie was too stunned to move. "Come, Sophie?" Nathalia tapped her shoulder.
Sophie blushed. My god, I have been staring at him. He's too good looking! But, Nathalia seems so indifferent. Doesn't she find him charming?
Again, frustrated, Nate said bitterly, "Hey, shouldn't you be a bit more hospitable. I'm a customer, after all. Your arrogance won't do you any good for your business."

Nathalia rolled her eyes at him. "You are free to leave if you don't like my attitude. I don't have the patience for picky customers." She didn't care who it was. If they annoyed her, she showed it.
Nate had by now got used to her attitude and mannerism. He wasn't annoyed at all. Instead, he chuckled and apologized, "Apologies, Mrs. Nathalia Davidson. I shall tell all my staff to shop here. They will be your loyal customers."
"Huh, I don't care. Whatever." Nathalia lifted her chin up and said proudly.
Nate heaved a sigh and put his hand on his forehead in frustration. She's not an easy one to please at all.
Sophie had been watching and waiting to be introduced eagerly. She ran out of her patience and asked, "Nathalia, who's this?"
Nathalia waved her hand impatiently and said, "It doesn't matter. You don't need to know him." She had always felt that Nate was a troublemaker. Whenever he showed up, there would be trouble.
Though Nate had learned what Nathalia was like. He still felt a bit hurt. "Nathalia, we are friends. One shouldn't treat their friends so unkindly."
"Friends?" Nathalia wasn't compromising at all. "Who says so?"
Nate now realized it was pointless to reason with Nathalia. He thought for a little while and said, "Anyway, I was to ask you if I should pay Mrs. Davidson a visit. What do you think?"
Nathalia frowned, "Mrs. Davidson?"
Nate nodded sincerely, "Yeah. Your mother-in-law. Spencer Davidson's mother."
"Why?" Nathalia was curious and puzzled. "What for?" Does he know that mum's not receiving any visitors? Well, if he doesn't care to be rejected. It's up to him.
Nate was pleased that he had now got Nathalia's attention. He grinned and said, "Well, to show her my respect."

Nathalia looked at him for a while and thought he had some other intention, but she couldn't guess what it was. "Whatever. It's up to you."
An assistant handed the bunch of flowers to Nate. Nate closed his eyes and smelled it, then he passed the flowers to Nathalia, "Beautiful flowers for a beautiful girl." He said gently while looking at Nathalia affectionately.
Everyone gasped in surprise, especially Sophie. She had her eyes wide open, staring at Nate, then turned to look at Nathalia. A new pursuer?! Even though Nathalia's married! And this guy! He's crazily charming!
Nathalia didn't accept the flowers. She rejected sternly, "I don't want them." Red roses! Does he think I'm that naïve?!
Nate smiled and said politely, "I came here in a rush and didn't have time to prepare a presentation. So, here were the flowers, simply paying my respect."
Nathalia hesitated for a bit, then took the flowers. Nate grinned happily, but just within seconds, the grin disappeared and was replaced by a surprised look as he watched Nathalia pass the roses to Sophie. "Here, Sophie, this is for you."
It was the first time Sophie had ever received such a big bunch of beautiful roses. She exclaimed with excitement, "Wow! This is beautiful! Thanks, Nathalia." She was so happy that she had not noticed the sulking look on Nate's face.
"Come on, Nathalia. That's not very nice of you." Nate said, feeling defeated. She just gave the flowers I gave her to someone else, right in front of all her staff! He thought helplessly.
Nathalia tilted her head and said sharply, "Why should I be nice to you anyway?" You disrespected me first, and I'm now just treating you the way you treated me.
"You..." Nate couldn't find his tongue. For the first time, he was helplessly speechless. No one had ever spoken to him this way, and he didn't know how to react.
Not knowing what to say, he pointed at Zack, standing behind him, and asked, "Is this your brother? He doesn't look like you at all."
It was so obvious that he was changing the subject, but Nathalia allowed him. "Right. He doesn't look like me." See, I'm not the only one that thinks so. Nathalia thought.
Zack blushed awkwardly. "Nathalia, how could you say that?! You took my family property, and now you are denying..." Apparently, he still hadn't learned how to conceal his thoughts and intentions yet.
Everyone stared at him. Sophie frowned. He was pretending to be pitiful and pleading for help just now. So this is what he's really after. His family property, ha. He must think that the Carter Company belongs to him.

El's Revenge
“Revenge is not for the dead- we, as the living, take revenge to relieve the burden we feel,” I whispered into the air. “Salvation for the people who suffered because of you,” I watched as the city burned in the flames. “Salvation for the people like me, who believed in the proclaimed heroes when in reality they were the devils.” I smiled faintly as the ‘holy land’ of those ‘saints’ was destroyed. I heard rustling sounds as Charlotte came to stand next to me, grabbing my hand. “El, are we the bad guys?” If I was still the same as I was before, I might’ve broken down and started crying. Now, it was different. “A villain is just another victim. They cry and mourn, it’s just that no one heard, leading them into madness. It’s one of the reasons why we know the most, but care the least.” I took a deep breath. “We may be the bad guys in other peoples’ eyes, but in my story, we’re the heroes.” Charlotte took in my words for a while and pondered, before nodding in agreement. “As children, we loved the heroes, as adults we understand the villains.” I looked at her and bonked her on the head, earning an angry glare from her. “Hey! You’re barely an adult yourself you know,” she grumbled. I laughed and ruffled her hair, before countering her. “At least I’m not 12. You can’t even be considered a teenager at that age.” After that, we silently watched the flames ravage the land, before leaving.
