The Rise Of Nathalia Carter Chapter 382

People burst out murmuring, staring at the young man on the stage in disbelief. Then all attention was turned to Nathalia.
Is he insane? If Mr. Spencer Davidson was here, this guy would get a good beating up.
The young man grew more nervous as the crowd stared at him, and he realized that he hadn't expressed himself clearly. He muttered, "Sorry, I mean, I want to, err, meet her and just shake, shakes her hand, and that's all. Is that ok?" He had always adored Nathalia and been longing to meet her, even though she was married.
The crowd then understood that he was taking advantage of this opportunity for this intention. A simple handshake is understandable and acceptable, they thought.
However, people also knew that Nathalia rarely attended events or parties, and when she did, she would never have body contact, including handshakes, with anyone except her families and friends.
Most people would be considered arrogant and rude, but somehow it was accepted and respected simply because it was Nathalia.
Some girls were looking at Nathalia enviously, thinking a handshake with her is worth 100,000 dollars!
The presenter knew what Nathalia was like and dared not decide. "Well, err." He hesitated, then asked Nathalia, "What do you think, Mrs. Nathalia Davidson?"
Before Nathalia answered, someone, cut in quickly, his voice stern and cold, "It's not ok. Gentleman, take the bracelet and get off the stage, please, so that the auction can proceed."
It was Nate. He looked displeased.
The crowd was now even more puzzled. Huh? What's Nate Morgan doing? It has nothing to do with him. But no one dared to comment.
"But, but, I..." the young man was shaking a bit, feeling nervous, yet his desire overcame his nervousness, and he plucked up the courage to explain, "I merely want to shake her hand. It will just take a few seconds. My intention is pure."
It was nothing unusual to shake hands or to hug someone when people met each other, however, it was very different from Nathalia. It would be a great honor for anyone to shake her hand.
Curt watched quietly. One could not guess how he was feeling. He believed that Nathalia was capable of handling the situation herself very well. He wasn't concerned.

However, Matt frowned and interfered. "I think it's an insult that a handshake with Nathalia should be measured in money."
No one could force Nathalia to do what she didn't want to do. Her frankness and carefree spirit were some of her charms.
Seeing how Nate Morgan and Matt Davidson were defending and being protective of Nathalia, the girls were even more jealous. She's too lucky!
A bitter feeling started growing in Katie. "Mrs. Nathalia Davidson, the proceeding of this auction goes to your own foundation. Surely, you won't say no to an offer of 100,000 dollars. It's just a handshake."
A few jealous women chorused, "Yeah, it's just a handshake. It's causal."
"You won't lose anything."
The woman said bitterly.
Nathalia didn't think a handshake was such a big deal, but she personally disliked body contact with strangers, especially men. It could be because of the trauma left from her previous life.
Seeing that Nathalia was quiet, the desire in the young man's face slowly faded and was replaced with disappointment. "It's alright. Forget about it. I would not like to force Mrs. Nathalia Davidson, but I did bid this bracelet for her, the stunning goddess." He turned around and was about to get off the stage when Nathalia stood up suddenly.
"Hold on, please," Nathalia said calmly.
The young man's face lit up. He stood there, waited, feeling excited and hopeful. Has she changed her mind?
Nathalia exchanged a few words with her assistant, then said, "Would you like to accept a present, instead of a handshake, from me as an exchange?"
It was such an unexpected offer that the young man was very pleased. He grinned and nodded, "That would be wonderful, Mrs. Nathalia Davidson." He said gratefully.
Nathalia went up to the stage, and the assistant handed her a brush, paper, and ink. Nathalia spread the paper out on the desk, picked up the brush, dipped it in ink, thought for a little while, and wrote down a few words. Everyone watched curiously, amazed by her grace and elegance.
As she finished, she put the brush down, smiled at the crowd and the gentleman, and said, "I'm not a master at calligraphy. I hope you don't mind. It means kindness and gratitude."

The assistant held up the paper. It was written in Chinese. Nathalia had taken some Chinese calligraphy lessons herself and was quite good at it. The crowd applauded at the sight of the beautifully written artwork.
The assistant handed it to the young man, who accepted with a happy grin. "This is the best present I've ever received. It's wonderful! Thank you very much, Mrs. Nathalia Davidson. I shall have it framed and hang it up on the wall at home."
"Thank you for taking part in the auction and your support to the foundation," Nathalia replied gracefully.
"You have a beautiful soul, Mrs. Nathalia Davidson. God bless you." The young man said sincerely. Nathalia was a bit taken aback and smiled at him gratefully. "Thank you."
Without much effort, Nathalia had won herself more admiration. People didn't know that she was also an artistic person. However, Nathalia herself never really cared much about how others thought of her, and she didn't intend to gain popularity or affection with her talents. The only person she cared about and cared to please was her husband.
Even Katie was gazing at her, thinking she always finds a way to deal with any tricky situations. It's impressive.
The presenter was very relieved that the problem had been sorted perfectly, and he quickly took the chance and went on with the auction. "The next item up was a..."
"Sorry to interrupt, but I believe that this is a great opportunity for Mrs. Nathalia Davidson to make things clear..." A man spoke aloud suddenly.
It was so sudden and so loud that everyone turned around to watch in surprise. A middle-aged man, very well dressed, and a young teenage boy in poor attire and with a pale face stood up.
Daniel Brown? He's also invited? Nathalia frowned. "To make things clear?" She questioned. It's obviously planned and plotted in advance, showing up on this occasion. He's got guts. Well, now that you're here, you won't get away so easily this time. Nathalia thought.
Daniel led Zack towards Nathalia while glaring at her. "What are you going to do with your brother?" He asked demandingly. "Your so-called education foundation, this charity auction, is nothing but a lie to disguise your selfishness. You don't even care for your own brother!" He said aloud righteously.
Zack was in tears, looking pitiful. "Nathalia, my sister, I have nowhere to live, no money for food. I'm starving and homeless. I'm in so much pain." He pleaded. He was shaking slightly, and his lips were so pale that he looked sick.
Daniel put his arm around Zack's shoulder intentionally to show protection of him. "You see what you have done to your brother? He's sick. Are you pleased now? And here you are, holding your charity auction! How pretentious!" He said angrily.
The crowd exchanged looks with each other and started murmuring and discussing.
"What's going on here?"
"Is he Zack Carter, the son of Frank Carter?
"When has he returned to the States? He's coming to ask Mrs. Nathalia Davidson for help?"
Think about what he and the family have done to her! Isn't he ashamed at all?! Some say Frank Cater died; some say he has been hiding, but wherever he is, look what he has done to himself and the family!
His daughter is locked in the asylum; his son is homeless. But his older daughter, whom he tortured, has now become the most respectable lady in town, married into the Davidsons, and he's not getting any benefits out of it. Such is life, full of surprises.
"Who knows what this boy wants coming back here, but I bet you he's here to cause trouble as he's always done."
"Well, he has no one else to turn to but Mrs. Nathalia Davidson now."
Some pitied Zack and thought it reasonable that Nathalia should offer help, while others despised him resentfully.
Nathalia didn't care how others think of her. She would follow her heart and do what she believed to be right. "I never say that I'm a philanthropist, but I know to treat people the way they have treated me, especially those that have hurt me." She trusted herself and knew what was right or wrong. No one was to judge her.
