The Rise Of Nathalia Carter Chapter 384

"You are being biased, Mr. Curt Davidson. But let me tell you, your daughter-in-law is cursed, and she will only bring bad luck to people around her. If I were you, I would kick her out of the family immediately."
On hearing so, Nathalia glared at Daniel in disbelief. What's wrong with this guy?!
"Shut up! Who is this lunatic talking nonsense here? Where's the security? Get him out!" An angry voice came from the door.
Enraged, Daniel turned around, ready to retort, but had to stop himself from shouting when he saw it was Sue Davidson.
Surprised and delighted, Nathalia hurried to Sue, put her arm in hers, and smiled sweetly. "Mum. I'm so glad to see you." Mum's here! And she just helped me! That must mean that she's not angry with me anymore! Aww, today is my lucky day!
It wasn't an easy decision for Sue to make at all. She thought about it and hesitated for hours at home. And Zoe had to try every way she knew to persuade her.
In the end, she decided to attend the party, but only planned to show up for a bit just to show Nathalia a bit of support and so that Spencer would not be disappointed.
However, as soon as she walked in, she heard someone insulting Nathalia and felt the urge to defend her instantly. How dare anyone to speak of my daughter-in-law in this way!
Daniel composed himself quickly, and a sneer appeared on his face. "Mrs. Davidson, I've heard that you have been unwell. Don't you know that it's all because of her! A very reliable fortune teller has said that Nathalia Davidson is cursed and she will only bring bad luck to people close to her."
Nathalia found it absolutely unbelievable. How ridiculous!

Sue was seriously enraged. She glared at Daniel resentfully and retorted angrily. "Nonsense! If anyone is cursed, it's you. My Nathalia is such a loving person. She's smart, amiable, kind, and thoughtful. How dare you insult my daughter-in-law! You will get a letter from my lawyer very soon!" Who the hell is this guy? He's well-dressed and looks decent, but what comes out of his mouth is disgusting!
Everyone was shocked to see how Sue reacted as they remembered her as someone who was gentle, meek, and even passive.
So it was Curt. He felt like he had never really known his wife.
Daniel didn't expect Sue to react so angrily as he thought Nathalia and Sue were having a fight. Why is she helping that little devil? I thought she disliked her.
"Mrs. Davidson, you must be very sick. Have you forgotten what this little devil did to her family and now she's leaving her own brother to suffer..."
Zack wept quietly, tears running down his cheeks, looking very pitiful. However, Sue glanced at him with despise. What's he crying about?! Annoying! She herself hated women who seduced others' husbands, and she had no pity for bastards, what's more, Zack was a bully.
"It would be disrespectful to Nathalia's mother, Mrs. Kathrine Carter if Nathalia offered to help this bully, and to me," Sue said sternly. Then she turned to Nathalia and said gently but seriously, "Nathalia, if you accept him as your brother, I won't see you as my daughter-in-law."
Sue had received a letter from Curt, the first letter he'd ever written to her. It wasn't a love letter, but he explained in detail what happened between him and Katherine, and he apologized for hurting Sue. He said that he totally understood if she wanted a divorce and he would support her.

Sue felt much relieved after reading the letter. As if everything suddenly sank in and she accepted it all, and when she did, she could finally let go. The past is the past, and I don't want to cling to it anymore.
On hearing her mother's name, Nathalia looked at Sue instantly as tears filled her eyes. She felt grateful and loved. Mum's a wonderful woman. She loves me.
But she quickly lowered her head down so that people wouldn't see her tears. She nodded and said softly, "I won't, mum. I'll always be your daughter-in-law."
Sue felt her anger melting away, hearing Nathalia's meek voice. She's been through a lot, but she's too proud to show her weakness. I've been too hard on her. She's just a girl. She shouldn't carry the weight of the past that has nothing to do with her.
Sue put her arm around Nathalia's shoulder and said softly, "That's my good girl."
Nathalia felt the warmth and support in Sue's embrace. Her face lit up. Mum has finally let go of the past! She's not angry with me anymore! We can return to a happy life like before. Oh! Spencer will be so happy. I can't wait to tell him.
Nathalia thought happily, and she was even grateful for this drama and trouble Daniel Brown had caused.
Sensing that Nathalia and Sue actually loved and supported each other, Daniel brown was utterly disappointed. He meant to drive a wedge between them, but it backfired instead. What's wrong with these two! Nuts.
Helplessly, he turned to Nate. "Mr. Nate Morgan, your opinion means a lot, and I believe you are fair and just. Don't you think Nathalia Davidson should take the responsibility of looking after her own brother?"
Nate rolled his eyes at him, having somehow guessed it was coming. He said casually, "So your intention is purely to help this boy? Right?"
Daniel felt as if he had been insulted. He answered immediately, "Yes! Of course! There's no doubt about it. What could I be after? Money? I have plenty..."
Nate looked at him in disdain and said indifferently, "Perfect then. You have plenty of money, and you want to help the boy. Help him yourself. Sorted."
"What? But, but I'm just a stranger. We are not blood-related." Daniel defended hurriedly. Why is he helping that devil as well?
"Neither are we. He's not my biological brother." Nathalia said aloud and clearly.
Daniel Brown snapped, "Do you hear how irresponsible you are?! You even deny the relationship with your brother!"

Making of a Genius [A Progression LitRPG]
What does it take to climb to the top of the academic ladder? Lexus came face to face with his mediocrity the moment he arrived at Cambridge University to study computer science. There was a ceiling that he could not overcome, an intellectual world that was unreachable. But if you give a chicken an eagle's wings, it will fly higher than you could ever imagine. And that was exactly what happened to Lexus: with the help of a system, he could make it big. Schedule:1 chapter per week (every Friday evening at 5:30pm GMT). The weekly schedule is to allow time for research and factual accuracy where required. Author's Note: The story is about a computer science student at university, gradually improving and embarking on the path to become a world-renowned genius-level expert with the help of a system. There'll be a lot of studying and academics, but imagine being the best in your year. Easily. At that point, academics stops being stressful and starts being fun, doesn't it? The initial chapters are heavy on mathematical detail, but I don't expect anyone to actually read through them thoroughly. It's fine to skim them or even skip them, but I hope you try to get a sense of the progress being made, and feel happy for Lexus when something 'clicks' inside his brain :) As the story progresses, later chapters will go into less depth into individual questions, though I aim to remain consistent in terms of scientific accuracy/feasibility. Welcome, and I hope you enjoy the story!
