The Rise Of Nathalia Carter Chapter 686

Nathan looked at Angelo in a daze. He was not handsome in a classical way, no flowing golden curls or ivory skin, no piercing eyes of green. However, there was something about him that made him more handsome than any catwalk model; in his ordinariness, he was stunning. Something radiated from within that rendered him irresistible to Nathan. He had brown hair and brown eyes, a soft round face that was currently red from exertion, and soft, plump lips. No wonder Stella went after him, Angelo Thorne was mesmerizing.
He felt a strange feeling of déjà vu wash over him when he stared into his eyes. It was as if he knew Angelo Thorne, but that was not possible. This was the first time he was meeting him.
Realizing he looked like an idiot staring at him, he quickly spoke up. "Sorry, my name is Nathan. I am Stella's brother. Are you going back home? I can drop you off if you like?" He asked questionably.
Angela kept silent. The last thing she wanted was to get into another Hill's car. Especially a car that she had gotten into many times before. She and Nathan had many fond memories of his vehicle. Them going on long drives, pigging out, and many more. But that was all a guise, she thought bitterly.
She never imagined she would meet Nathan again, right here, right now! She had imagined ways to take revenge on him, but now that was he here in front of her, she was quiet. Revenge was imperative, but she would never take revenge at the cost of her life, no matter how much she wanted to.
Remembering how brutally he had treated her last, Angela clenched her fists, took a deep breath, and glared at Nathan coldly, "Sorry! But I'm good!"
Nathan froze with a stiff smile on his face. He was not used to hearing 'No' from others, especially a nobody young boy of a rich family. Girls usually fell over him due to his naturally boyish good looks.
"Okay, then we can talk right here," Nathan replied while leaning against his Mercedes. "I'm here to talk about what happened a couple of days ago at the party. What you did to my sister."

"What do you mean what I did to your sister?" Angela bristled. She was sick of everyone blaming her for the shit she did not do!
"Having sex in her car? Does that sound familiar?" Nathan taunted back.
"Are you kidding me!? I do not know what that bitch told you, but nothing like that happened! In fact, it was her desperate ass who got me drunk and dragged me into her car. She is the one who came onto me!"
Nathan became stony-faced immediately and said, "Watch your tongue! You don't know who you are talking to!"
"I know exactly who I am talking to! You are just like your sister! A piece of trash! Get your facts straight before you come onto others, blaming them for shit they did not do! I do not know what Stella said, but if you keep blaming me, then I will make this public and accuse her of sexual assault, which she did to me! You should be thanking me that I have not done that already!"
With that, Angela turned to leave. She did not want to look at his face any longer. However, she was stopped when Nathan roughly grabbed her shoulders and turned her around. He manipulated her, so she was now against his car, and he was towering over her. His hands were digging into her skin. He was absolutely livid. She spared no effort to shake him off, but she failed.
"I told you to watch your language, you stupid!"
Angela gulped in fear. She was tired from the run and did not have the energy to fight a fully grown man off her. Further, Nathan was tall and strong. There was no way she would get him off her easily if he himself did not let her go.
"Let me go! Who the hell do you think you are!?"
"I'm going to show you who I am." He growled before leaning in close to her. "I'm going to see what's so special about you that even my sister could not resist you."

Angela whimpered and closed her eyes, waiting for the inevitable. However, before she could feel Nathan's lips on her, he was pulled back, and she was free. She opened her eyes and gasped when she saw Drake standing there over Nathan, who was on the ground clutching his arm with a pained expression on his face.
Anger boiled deep within Drake's system, as hot as lava. It churned within, hungry for destruction, and he knew that he was about to explode. The pressure of this raging sea of anger inside him was going to force him to perform murder.
"What do you think you are doing?" Drake's voice was purely cold. There was no emotion in his voice, but his eyes showed his real emotion. They were pitch black and murderous. Angela had never seen Drake this angry before. His hands were clenched and tense as if ready to pounce at any second.
"Mr. Thorne…I…nothing, I was just talking to Angelo." Nathan's voice was trembling.
Drake glanced over at Angelo and noticed his pale face and shaking form. He did not fail to notice the red handprints on his wrists and shoulders.
Drake bent down and grabbed Nathan's collar. "It did not seem like just talking to me. You are lucky I am letting you go easily. If you come near him again, I will have you killed." Drake threatened in all seriousness.
Nathan had no doubt he was telling the truth, so he nodded. Drake roughly released him, and he took no time standing up and rushing to his car. His hands were shaking, but he managed to get the keys into the ignition.
Angela watched his car flying away. She wondered what Nathan would have done to her if Drake had not shown up. She shuddered to think that he would have attacked her; he was capable of anything; she knew that better than anyone else.
"Are you alright?"
Hearing Drake's words, Angela ran to him in a hurry and stood close to him. His protective body near her calmed her down.
"He did not touch you anywhere else, did he?"
Angela shook her head no and trembled when she saw the red marks were now turning blue on her wrist and shoulders. Nathan had been holding her really tightly.
Drake swore under his breath. He should have killed that asshole for touching Angelo!
"Do you know him?"
"Yes, he is Nathan, Stella's brother. He wanted to talk about what happened in the car, but he was blaming everything on me! Drake, I swear Stella got me drunk and led me to her car. I didn't even do anything!" Angela cried out desperately, hoping he believed her.
Drake lightly grabbed Angelo's hands and said softly, "Hey, it's okay, I believe you. Calm down."
"I want you to take guards next time!" Drake told her.
Angela nodded and looked back at the place where Nathan had parked. She noticed they were in a secluded place, and no one would have seen anything if Nathan had tried to harm her. She thanked God Drake had shown up when he did.
Angela followed Drake all the way back home. She was still thinking about the events that had happened just now, as if their shadows ruled her.
"Come to a business party with me tonight," Drake said slowly out of nowhere.
Angela raised her head with astonishment in her eyes. Was Drake asking her out?!
"Um…but…" Angela started to talk but was cut off rather rudely. She humphed.
She knew Drake seldom took anyone with him to his many business parties. But he was asking her of all people? His eighteen-year-old stepbrother!
Drake answered in an indisputable tone, "I'll pick you up at seven." Then he left her standing, leaving her at a loss.

Tower of Somnus
When humanity first encountered alien life, we were judged and found wanting. The Galactic Consensus interviewed our leaders and subjected us to a battery of psychological tests to determine our progress as a society. They found us to be selfish, wasteful, impulsive, and boorish neighbors. Earth was blockaded and our collective encounter with our extrasolar neighbors rapidly faded from memory. All they left behind was a hypercomm relay and a handful of subscriptions to a massively multiplayer game that participants played in their sleep. The Consensus said that it would let us interact with our neighbors in a controlled setting. That it would teach us to be better members of the galactic community. The megacorporations that controlled Earth ignored the game until they learned that the powers earned from clearing dungeons were just as real when day broke. Magic, supernatural abilities and rumors exploded from nothing and a subscription to The Tower of Somnus became a status symbol. Katherine ‘Kat’ Debs doesn’t have much, but it could be worse. He slowly backs up until his back is against the wall like my own, "You're..my neighbor?" He points to my door and I nod my head quickly. He hums softly, "You been here a while?" He asks and I nod my head once again. He chuckles, "Ya head hurt?" I nod again but stop as he laughs softly, "I-I mean.. no.. it doesn't." My cheeks burn red as I look at my shoes, "I-It doesn't hurt.." I repeat like a dummy and listen to him clear his throat, "So do you actually live there or was it bull?" He puts his box down before walking over to one of the grey bins. I nosily watch as he pulls out a big grey sweatshirt, "Here." He holds it out for me to take and I stare at him with wide eyes, "F-For me?" I hesitantly grab the soft fabric as he chuckles, "Nah for ya mom." I puff my cheeks a little and give him a small glare, "Hush." He leans back against the wall and shakes his head, "It's cold out.
