The Rise Of Nathalia Carter Chapter 883

When the car started, she started to realize something.
"Wait! What date did you say?"
"Just the literal meaning. Don't you understand?" replied Patrick while driving.
Angelo was more confused. She was not close to Patrick enough for a date, weren't they?
"What? You don't want to?"
Patrick glanced at Angelo and saw a clear refusal expression on her face.
"I…"
Angelo didn't know how to say it. She didn't know how to deal with people like Patrick.
"Don't worry. I won't force you to do anything," Patrick suddenly added.
Angelo refuted, "You are forcing me now."
When she finished her words, the atmosphere suddenly became quiet.
After a while, Patrick turned the wheel, making a turn at a cross, heading in another direction.
Finally, the car stopped outside Green.
Angelo had guessed that Patrick would send her home, but now she was still surprised that Patrick would easily give in.
As she was about to get off, she heard Patrick say, "Don't forget my words. I won't give up easily."
Seeing Patrick's car disappearing, Angelo tried hard to remember what Patrick had said last time.
Thorne house
Just as Patrick entered the yard, another car came in soon.
Drake got out of the car, looking not well, like not taking a good rest.
"Hi, Drake."
Patrick went up to greet Drake, who nodded and asked, "What about the family?"
"Everything's normal. It's just that…" Patrick thought of a letter he received a few days ago and hesitated if he should hand it to Drake.
"What?"
Drake entered the villa, took off his coat, which Hale took over, and hung up. But Patrick still didn't answer.
"What happened?" asked Drake again.
Patrick sighed and said, "A few days ago, the Watts family sent us an invitation for celebrating McCoy becoming the master of the Watts family."

Patrick used to focus on Daisy's engagement because Angeline might be there, so he didn't give much attention to the invitation.
Yesterday, he recalled it when he learned McCoy being against the Thorne.
How could McCoy send them an invitation after doing such a bad thing? What was he up to?
"Where's the invitation?" asked Drake.
Hale took the invitation back.
The Watts family would hold a wine party at six p.m. three days later.
"You'd better not go, Drake," suggested Patrick. He had been good at judging people's moods from their expressions, so he saw through Drake's thoughts.
"Yeah."
Drake stuffed the invitation into an envelope and went upstairs.
Patrick stayed for a while but still couldn't get it. Drake usually ignored such invitations, let alone the declining clan like Watts.
"Mr. Drake must attend it for Angelo," said Hale slowly. Patrick suddenly got it. Drake went abroad for Angelo, but from his look, he might fail. And in the Watts family party, he might meet Angelo.
***
Since Angelo got back from abroad, she tried to go to Christina to ask about that night and thank her seriously.
That was Angelo, having a clearcut stand on what to love and what to hate.
Christina had done many things against her, but she saved her from Absolon this time. So, she wanted to thank her.
For Angelo, the favor couldn't counteract the hatred, but she would keep them apart.
However, the movie was under post-production, and both Christina and Angelo had other works, so they hadn't got a chance to meet.
But Angelo didn't expect that it was at the Watts's party when she met Christina again. Besides Christina, there was another person -- Drake.
The delight of seeing Christina suddenly disappeared. Angelo was about to withdraw to a corner when McCoy blocked her way.

"How about greeting them with me?"
"What?" Angelo reacted slowly. Greeting? Greeting who?
Under the mask, McCoy smiled. He pulled Angelo's hand and walked towards Drake.
Angelo wanted to stop when she got what McCoy meant, but she walked with McCoy when she saw Christina standing with Drake intimately.
McCoy stopped in front of Drake. "Long time no see, Mr. Drake!" Then he looked at Christina. "Oh, you're more and more adorable, Miss Christina!"
"Thank you! Congratulations, Mr. McCoy, for becoming the new master of the Watts family! But it seems that you should be in this position, are you?"
With that, Christina raised her glass and touched McCoy's, and McCoy seemed to be pleased by her words.
"Stay for a while after the party. I need to ask you about something."
Drake's words broke the harmonious atmosphere. He looked calmly at Angelo, who got nervous, and even her hands were shaking.
"Can you ask her now, Mr. Drake? I have a date with Angeline. She may have no time to see you later."
McCoy held Angeline's hand, and his words sounded threatening.
There was no change in Drake's face, but his mood did have a significant fluctuation, and all his body gave a cold aura making people chill.
Christina hurried to mediate the atmosphere, "Drake just wants to know something about Angelo. So, can you give them some time, Mr. McCoy?"
"Angelo?" McCoy showed a look of knowing nothing. Then he looked at Angelo, "What's wrong with Angelo?"
Angelo stayed for a second and quickly replied, "I don't know. What do you want to know about my brother, Drake?"
"Where's he?"
"France. You knew that, didn't you?" Angelo showed a look of knowing nothing but got nervous in her heart.
"Tell me the exact address. I want to find Angelo. I have an important matter to discuss with him,"
"Hmm... what's the reason that you're looking for him?"
"Just tell me her address. Stop this chasing game, will you?"
Drake sounded annoyed and every sentence he said startled Angelo.
She pouted her lips and retorted," Mr. Thorne, why not use your power to look for him?"
Drake's face changed, and she seemed to devour Angelo as he walked closer to her. "Woman, the patience wearing thin, I ask you properly, but you made it more complicated,"
Angelo was scared and quickly answered.
"Well… I don't know where he lives now. But a few days ago, he mentioned changing dwellings for safety because people were investigating him."
Drake went silent and turned to leave.

Until he was summarily defeated by the Hero as a mid-game boss battle and executed for his crimes, of course. When a dedicated fan of the RPG “Next to Eden” awakened in the body of the cruelest future Count, four years before the beginning of the game, he pledged to live humbly. He would let his brother lead and support the Hero from the shadows to ensure the demon invasion would be defeated and he could enjoy life in peace. Rather, he would have, if he hadn’t gotten the Hero’s mentor killed in a freak monster attack before the Hero’s training could even begin. How was he supposed to live a life of peace and luxury if the Hero couldn’t stop the end of the world!? Donning a mask, Cyrus took up mentoring the Hero himself; how hard could it possibly be? . . . Four years later, the kind jack-of-all-trades hero Leon had become a twisted powerhouse: alienating his party members, clearing enemy encounters in a single magical blast, and coldly ignoring the affections of the girl whose love would have allowed him to clear the final boss. He seemed to have plastered himself to his Master’s side, instead. Cyrus bit back his despair while the hero reached out to grasp his hand. “Please stop ignoring the saint, Leon; you can't beat the Demon King by grinding stats! You need the power of love, remember?” “Don’t worry, Master,” Leon smiled as he traced the lines of Cyrus’s palm gently, almost reverently. “I have all the love I need.” VDL is two parts plot and worldbuilding, one part slow-build gay romance, starring a man far too proud to admit he's in over his head and the hero who loves him. Should be updating weekly.
