Chapter 26: A Boss Should Have the Awareness of a Boss
Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios
“Brother, what did you say?”
Just now, Mo Han was checking the appliances.
When she heard Mo Fan talking to himself, she walked over.
“Ah? Nothing much!” A look of panic flashed across Mo Fan’s face before he smiled.
“Brother, I just looked around and this house is really big. The interior design, coupled with the included furniture and appliances, it’s definitely worth 4.5 million dollars!”
Mo Han’s face flushed red as she exclaimed in excitement.
“Of course! I’ve looked at quite a few houses online. They’re about 200 square meters, and they have three bedrooms and two living rooms. However, this house is the most cost-effective among them.”
Mo Fan could not help but reveal a proud expression as he smiled and asked, “Also, we’ve already settled the transaction procedures. We can move in now. Do you have any plans?”
“I can move here anytime, but what about Tong Yuan?”
“Anyway, our old house is still there. Let her live there alone. It’s too small for two people to live there,” Mo Fan suggested.
“Well, brother, that’s the best idea. I was worried you were going to sell that old house.”
“How can we sell that house? That’s the first house we saved up to buy.”
As Mo Fan spoke, his voice lowered.
After their parents disappeared, not even their house was left behind.
The big house that they used to live in was seized by the court.
They had no choice but to move out and use their parents’ remaining savings to pay the down payment and buy an old house.
After experiencing so many things over the years, he and his sister had grown up.
But even now, there was still no news from their parents…
“Brother.”
Mo Han walked over and grabbed Mo Fan’s hand, her eyes were filled with worry.
With how bright she was, she knew what Mo Fan was thinking when she saw his expression.
Mo Fan had been taking care of her all these years when their parents were not around.
Mo Fan was under a lot more pressure than her.
Therefore, she understood her brother’s feelings very well.
But they could only blame their heartless parents for leaving them to survive on their own.
“Little sister, I’m fine!” Mo Fan revealed a happy smile and touched her head.
Then, he looked into the room and asked, “Do you have a lot of things to bring? Should I rent a truck for you?”
“Yes, yes. I have a lot of things with me.” Mo Han pursed her lips and nodded repeatedly.
“Good. You should settle everything and move here while you’re still on leave today.”
“As for me, I’ll move all my stuff here after I go and end the rental contract. The rent’s due in a few days anyway.”
…
By the time Mo Fan and Mo Han had moved everything over, it was already five in the afternoon.

It has been a busy day.
At night, after Tong Yuan got off work, Mo Fan personally cooked and the three of them gathered in the new house for a meal.
During the meal, Tong Yuan constantly praised Mo Fan to no end.
Meanwhile, Mo Han kept adding fuel to the fire as she praised Mo Fan to the skies.
This made Mo Fan a little embarrassed and his face turned red.
As the saying went, three women could create drama, so why was it so noisy with just two?
Mo Fan sighed inwardly.
“Xiaoyuan, since you like my brother so much, you should go and marry him!”
“This way, not only can we be best friends, but you can also be my sister-in-law!”
Mo Han suddenly spoke up.
“Little sister, what are you saying!” Hearing this, Mo Fan could no longer remain indifferent and immediately stopped her from talking.
Tong Yuan’s face turned red.
She wanted to say something but she hesitated. In the end, she remained silent for a long time.
The atmosphere at the dining table became suffocating.
Just like that, the originally happy gathering changed and it ended rather quickly.
Tong Yuan ran as fast as a rabbit after dinner.
Even after she left the district, her heart was still in turmoil.
Oh no, oh no!
Her best friend wanted her to be her sister-in-law?
However, Brother Fan was really handsome!
Should she agree?
What a dilemma!
…
“Little sister, what did you—”
“What? I did it for your own good.”
“Brother, look at you! People out there that are the same age as you are already married, but what about you? I still can’t find my sister-in-law!”
“I was thinking that since Xiaoyuan is already so close to us, we should keep such a good person to ourselves.”
Mo Fan was just about to scold Mo Han when he was taught a lesson by her.
“Brother, think about it carefully. The rest is up to you, I’m going to take a shower and rest first.”
Mo Han looked at Mo Fan like he was a hopeless kid. Then, she returned to her room.
Mo Fan looked at the leaving Mo Han.
He did not know whether to laugh or cry.
I just bought us a house and you already want to give your best friend to me?
….
Mo Fan returned to his room after cleaning the dining area.
This brand-new room of his was several times bigger than his entire rented apartment.
Even if the Luxury Gaming Capsule was placed inside his room, there was still a lot of space.
He checked the time. It has been 19 hours since he went online.
He removed his clothes and laid down in the gaming capsule.
Mo Fan entered ‘Boundless World’.
When he appeared in the game, he was still at the top of the mountain.
After walking out from behind a huge rock, Mo Fan did not know if it was his imagination or not, but he felt that the fog in Maple Leaf City had become even thicker.

Mo Fan looked around and did not find any players.
He looked at the ranking list.
There were already Level 13 players and most of the players were now Level 10.
It seemed that when he was offline, a few grinders kept working hard.
So what if they worked hard?
Could they catch up to him?
Mo Fan shook his head and changed into Kuang Dao’s skin.
He walked towards the fog at the foot of the mountain.
Entering the fog, a debuff appeared on Mo Fan’s body.
[Miasma of Fog: You are in the Fog. Your vision is blocked by 80%. Your vision is limited to five meters.]
Just like what the debuff had said, Mo Fan found it hard to survey his surroundings as he was enveloped by the fog.
He had no choice but to take things one step at a time.
After walking for five minutes, a system notification appeared.
[System Notification: You have entered the first region of Dense Fog Forest. Dense Fog Forest is full of dangers. Good luck!]
At this moment, Mo Fan heard rustling noises.
It was like something was rubbing against the leaves.
After a while, Mo Fan finally saw what it was.
Snake!
A sea of snakes!
On the ground, on the trees, everywhere.
“Demon Eyes!”
Mo Fan used his Demon Eyes on the snakes and detailed information appeared before him.
[Fog Snake (Level 10)]
[The first region’s wild monster guarding the Dense Fog Forest. It has poisonous fangs.]
[Health: 30,000 / 30,000]
[Attack Power: 127-163]
[Defense: 23-41]
[Seven Steps Poison: Deals 300 poison damage. Damage taken increases by 1% for every meter moved. Duration: 30 seconds. Poison damage can be stacked.]
Mo Fan sucked in a breath of cold air after reading the message.
Although this Fog Snake’s attack power and defense were not much, the ‘Seven Steps Poison’ was abnormally strong.
With so many Fog Snakes, as long as ten of them bit him, the poison damage could be stacked to 3000. Furthermore, the additional damage from moving around would also stack pretty high.
If he was bitten by 100 Fog Snakes, the stacked damage would be as high as 30,000.
He was probably the only one who could withstand it. Others would be insta-killed.
Mo Fan looked at the snakes that were getting closer and closer to him.
He immediately rushed forward.
If he did not leave now, he would be surrounded by the snakes and it would become troublesome.
It was only then that Mo Fan understood why the previous warning mentioned danger. It turned out that the monsters in the Dense Fog Forest attacked in groups.
Even if he was a wild monster, it was useless.
Mo Fan released his Demonic Might and ran while opening a path with the Coiling Dragon Spear.
Any Fog Snake blocking him would be frozen by his Demonic Might for a second before they were sent flying by Mo Fan.

A large number of Fog Snakes were insta-killed by him.
[Fog Snake (Level 10) has been killed. Obtained 1 Spiritual Energy Point, 1 Player Reputation Point.]
The level difference between him and the Snake of Fog was simply too big.
Thus, he received no fragment reward. In addition, he only got 1 Spiritual Energy Point.
This made him even more unwilling to waste his time killing them.
For newbies who had just left the beginner village, this was a difficult situation.
If they were to run, they would receive the bonus damage from moving around.
But if they did not run, they would have to eliminate a massive number of Fog Snakes at once.
But to Mo Fan, it was just a little troublesome.
With his movement speed, he sped past the snakes and after 20 minutes of running. He eventually arrived halfway up the mountain.
The Fog Snakes chasing after him gradually disappeared.
A gust of cold wind blew out, blowing away some of the fog.
Then, a monster with a human body and a snake tail appeared not far away.
Mo Fan activated his Demon Eyes.
[Naga Warrior – Shi Gang (Level 10 Bronze Boss)]
[The guardian of the first region of the Dense Fog Forest, it has rich combat experience and a strong physique.]
[Health: 600,000 / 600,000]
[Attack: 1125-1328]
[Defense: 128-154]
[Snake Commanding Skill: Can summon snakes within a kilometer radius to fight. Cooldown: 12 hours.]
[Poisoned Weapon: It can apply snake venom to its weapon. Normal attacks have an additional 500 points of poison damage. Duration: 60 seconds.]
[Naga Secret Skill – Blood: Increase your Max HP by 100,000 for a short period of time after use. Duration: 30 seconds. Cooldown: 5 minutes.]
“Impossible! Impossible!”
“Why would a monster like you appear in the beginner village?”
After Shi Gang appeared, he shouted at Mo Fan in disbelief.
It was as if he had seen something he shouldn’t have.
“Hey, are you going to fight or not?” Mo Fan stared at Shi Gang and asked impatiently.
He was ready to attack.
The moment the Boss appeared, it revealed an astonished look.
Mo Fan found this situation peculiar. It was vastly different from his experience with Bosses in previous games.
In those games, every Boss that came out to fight would immediately attack without considering how strong a player was.
But this Shi Gang seemed to be hesitating whether he would attack him or not?
“Who exactly are you? Why are you here?” Shi Gang did not answer Mo Fan’s question.
Instead, he held his weapon tightly and asked.
Mo Fan snorted coldly and charged forward.

Mo Fan attacked thrice in a second.
Although he did not unleash any violent attacks, he still insta-killed Shi Gang!
Looking at Shi Gang who had fallen onto the ground, Mo Fan shook his head.
“You are a Boss, so you should have the awareness of a Boss! Why talk so much nonsense?”

The Chronicles of Artharian Dagworth
Back in 2020 there were many theories on how the world would end. From the many religions apocalypses, nuclear wars that would leave the planet inhabitable, global warming doing the same, biological weapons getting out of control, viruses mutating into unstoppable diseases to the dead raising to prey on humanity, either due to a virus or just because hell filled up. Also, aliens, from the war mongering kind to the ones so advanced they didn’t see us as more than worms. And of course there was the fail proof theory that the world would end when the sun died. In a bunch of billion years give or take. Althougth some new scientist were discussing if the end would be on the take side, since when the sun started dying things would go haywire on the entire solar system and we would collide with mercury or maybe mars way before the expanding sun engulfed earth. But I digress… Now, those were the mainstream theories that the everyday Joe, who didn’t know the big secret, worried about. So, if you were to ask me which theory was correct I can tell you that I haven’t seen any little green man, at least not from another planet, and so far the sun is still shining, although it’s been only 9 years since everything went to hell, not the few billions (give or take) the scientist predicted, so that one isn’t ruled out yet. These two aside, I'd say all of them. Hey everyone, this is my first attempt at writing. I have been planning to do it for a really long time, and while this is not the one epic fantasy idea I ever wanted to write, I think it's a good one. The plan is to write an end of the world urban-fantasy series. Think a world like Dresden Files, Alex Verus, Iron druid, where magic is real but exist hidden from society meets the apocalypse. It will be written in first person in the Dresden Files style, no plans for other POV for now. As you probally alredy guessed from my style, english is not my first langague, so while google corrector helps, expect grammar errors, and I'd be gratefull for anyone to point them. I plan to write 2 to 3 chapters a week, 2000-4000 words each. Might change as I get more experience and depends on my free time. Cover image from the colections of getwallpapers.com
