College Construction: My Principal System Chapter 4

A month's time passed very quickly.
Under principal Fang Yuan's leadership, Yun Ding High School had already made complete preparations to reopen.
It was ready to accept the first batch of new students.
Ma Yun, who was born in a small village on the outskirts of Jingcheng City, was one of the new students who came to register.
Ma Yun usually studied quite diligently, but because the education level of the village primary school was quite limited, it meant that even if he tried his best, he could only get into Yun Ding High School, which ranked last in the whole city.
It was inevitable that he was a little disappointed.
After all, the reputation of Yun Ding High School was really bad.
But the moment he walked through the school gates; his thoughts changed.
Right in front of him was a towering statue of Confucius.
On the marble statue, there was a kind old man holding an open scroll, as if he had crossed a thousand years of time and space to come to the present.
With the education philosophy of cultivating one's body, managing one's family, and ruling the country, the world was at peace.
Behind the sculpture, there was a beautiful fountain and a baroque-style main school building.
The main school building's design was grand and tall.
It gave people a strong feeling that if they didn't study hard, they wouldn't be able to live up to such a beautiful and magnificent building.
Ma Yun was a child who had been tossed out of the suburbs.
In the past, his desk, chair and stool were all missing limbs. Seeing the new and elegant classroom here, he couldn't help but feel a sense of joy.
When he walked into the student dormitory building, it was an eye-opener for Ma Yun.
The accommodations available in the countryside had sixteen people crammed into a bungalow.
He couldn't even walk, let alone study.

The pattern of upper, middle, and lower beds exposed everyone's life, and there was no privacy to speak of.
As for Yun Ding High School, the student dormitory building alone was thirty stories high.
It had its own elevator, a standard four-person dormitory, and every dormitory had all the necessities of life.
There were even things that should not be there.
An independent observation balcony could overlook the ocean-view park outside the school gate.
Two separate bathrooms for the dormitory students to use, to avoid the early morning race to snag the toilet first.
The four-person independent kitchen, although not providing open fire, had everything else needed like an induction cooker, a microwave oven, an oven and a refrigerator.
Rather than calling it a student dormitory, it was more like a private apartment.
Not to mention to a rural child like Ma Yun, and even to many urban children, their home environment was not as good as the dormitory.
Ma Yun left the dormitory and went to the canteen.
The abundance of food in the canteen scared him. There were some French dishes and Italian dishes.
Not to mention tasting them, he had never seen anything like it in more than ten years of his life.
The school he attended had such an environment, so he was naturally happy. But while he was happy, he couldn't help but be a little worried.
Such living conditions, such eating conditions, such living conditions.
How much would the tuition cost?
He voiced out his concerns. Mr. Xu Zhiyu, who was in charge of welcoming the students, replied in a friendly manner.
"Please don't worry. Our school provides financial aid to students from poor families. As long as they are motivated and willing to study, our principal Fang Yuan will do his best to support them."
Ma Yun's eyes lit up with hope. "If that's the case, even I can study here!"
...
On the other side, Ma Huateng followed his mother to Yun Ding High School.

Ma Huateng immediately noticed that this school was different from other high schools. Under the system of examination-oriented education in Jingcheng City, high schools usually directly eliminated computer-led classes.
In the eyes of conservative leaders, what use did a computer class have? Wasn't it just using the students' study time to play with computers?
But Yun Ding High School was completely different.
The ten-story tall library had an electronic reading room.
And in the electronic reading room, in addition to the top-notch computer set up, there were 500 computers.
There were also all kinds of digital equipment.
There were game consoles, e-readers, VR helmets, and everything else.
It was as if this place was not a self-study room in the school, but rather a gaming haven.
Ma Huateng's eyes immediately lit up. "Wow! This is awesome, mom! I love studying!"
"You love studying, my ass! You love playing games!" His mother said angrily.
"If it wasn't for playing games, would you have come to Yun Ding High School? You would have gone to the No. 1 high school in the neighboring city! All the teachers say that you're smart, but you're too playful. If you dare play games in the future, I'll smack you very hard!"
Ma Huateng stuck out his tongue, not daring to make a sound.
But his eyes still flashed with eagerness. This was his want for the school's electronic reading room.
"Mom, can I stay in the school dormitory in the future?"
"No way. Our house is in the next neighborhood."
His mother rolled her eyes at Ma Huateng and said, "Besides, the living environment is so tough. I will be so worried. Would I be able to sleep well at night? Would I be able to eat properly?"
Ma Huateng said with a sad face, "Mom! The school announcement said that the cafeteria and dormitory have been opened! I'll take you to see..."
They walked to the canteen.
Waiters in suits were carrying plates and walking back and forth.
The wonderful aroma of food could be smelled.
There were already students and parents sitting in their seats chewing on the food provided, occasionally wiping the corners of their mouths with napkins.
It was simply like a three-star Michelin restaurant.
Even a student with a privileged family environment like Ma Huateng could not help but be shocked!
"Is this really... the school cafeteria?"
"Welcome to Yun Ding High School's cafeteria."
Under the reception of the waiter, Ma Huateng and his mother came to the table.
Beside them was Ma Yun, who had finished his meal and was silently reciting English words.
Ma Yun knew that his learning foundation was not as good as that of a student from a city, so he worked even harder to get the school's financial aid.
"Hello dear, are you also a freshman?"
Ma Huateng's mother was a little surprised. When she had sent her son to school, she had heard about the online reviews of Yun Ding High School.
Everyone had said that the learning environment here was terrible and that the students did not learn well.
But now, seeing was better than hearing a hundred things and the reality was completely different!
Ma Yun said stiffly, "Yes, ma'am. I'm a freshman. I stay in dormitory 2602."
"How do you feel about the school?"
"It's very good. It can ignite the passion of our students! I want to learn well here and have a good career in the future."
"Did you hear that, son?" Ma Huateng's mother lectured him.
"You have to learn from others. In the future, you should stay in the school dormitory too. I'll go and make an application for you to attend the school and to also share a dormitory with Ma Yun."

Barry Buckman and the Interdimensional Beastiary
In the beginning of 2021 I did something possibly stupid, I hired a ghostwriting company to write one of the many ideas going on in my head since I was busy with my job. Unfortunately... They were not the greatest, after the first writer assigned to me left I was stuck with... We'll just call her 'Karen'. Karen didn't want to listen to my feedback on chapters, and turned what was supposed to be a long story about a young guy surviving on an island of supernatural and crazy stuff, and becoming stronger from it, was turned into a not so great romance novel.I plan on releasing another one, probably after this that will be Barry Buckman Redux, which will be me writing it out the way I originally envisioned it.
