After dinner, Renz decided to leave. Selene tagged along with him outside to send him off. Aside from that, Selene planned to buy ice cream, chocolates, and candies for Eros.

They were walking going to Renz's car that was parked near the football area when Selene noticed two men on the football field, one guy was lying on the grass while the other one was sitting next to the guy.

"You don't have to walk me to my car. I'm a guy here," Renz said, catching Selene's attention back to him.

Selene turned to Renz, smiling at him. "It's alright. Besides, I am planning to buy something in the convenience store just outside the school. I will shamelessly ask you to drop me there as you leave."

"Oh, okay. Hop in!" Renz opened the car door for her in the front passenger seat before he stepped into the driver's seat.

Selene smiled inwardly. This was one of the traits she liked about Renz. He was very thoughtful, a perfect epitome of a gentleman.

'A gentleman who broke your heart after betraying you and choosing your best friend over you,' Selene's alter ego had spoken to herself.

Selene's smile disappeared in an instant. She bit her lower lip and shook her head, trying to shake off that negative thought.

"Is everything alright? Are you having a headache?" Renz asked Selene before starting the car. He saw her shaking her head while frowning deeply.

"Oh, it's nothing. I just remembered a tragic story in one of my Literature Subject," Selene promptly blurted out as an excuse. Then she smiled sheepishly at Renz, scolding herself inwardly for using that lame excuse.

'Seriously, Selene? When did your tragic love story end up in your Literature Class?'

Renz smiled faintly, oblivious of the fact that Selene was referring to his betrayal as her fiancee.

"Take it easy, Selene. Stop thinking about your studies if you are not in your class anymore. Just relax your mind once in a while." Renz stroked her hair. "Anyway, do you have an upcoming exam?"

Selene paused for a moment, trying to recall if she would have an upcoming exam this week. After a while, she shook her head. Her midterm exam would take place after one month.

"So are you available next week? Arthur is celebrating his 24th Birthday. He dropped by the office this afternoon to inform me. He also gave me two invitations. Do you want to come with me and attend the party?"

Inviting Renz was the main reason why Arthur visited him in his office when Eros was doing his spying on him. One of the reasons Arthur was biased towards Selene was that she never mingled with them.

She was only busy with her studies and just staying with Renz causing him to spend less time with his friends. Because of that, she created a bad impression on Arthur and others.

To think about it, Micaela was different. She got along with Renz's friends easily. She knew how to deal and mingle with them so Micaela became more closer to Renz and his friends.

Later on, Renz's friends began to ship Micaela and Renz together until the two of them developed feelings towards each other. Selene was isolating herself from others at that time because she was still mourning the death of her grandmother.

Now, Selene realized that Renz's friends were aware of his relationship with Micaela. Though they knew that she was Renz's fiancee, they never informed her about the two. She was left in the dark and it was too late when she found the truth.

"Yes, I'm free. I can join you and attend Arthur's birthday. Just tell me what time and where is the venue." Selene answered him enthusiastically after she was done contemplating.

Renz was taken aback for a moment. It never came into his mind that Selene would agree to come with him. In fact, he was already expecting that she would refuse.

She never joined them before whenever he was hanging out with his friends. She was very studious. She's also an introvert and she hated crowded places and parties. She seldom socialized with others.

Renz was surprised that Selene decided to attend the party with him. The truth was he just invited her out of courtesy because she was his fiancee. Arthur didn't even mention inviting Selene because he was also thinking that Selene would never come even if they invited her.

"O-Okay. I will message you the details about the party. I will also fetch you. We will go together," Renz responded after he recovered from his dazed.

"Got it! Do you think they will like to see me?" Selene's followed up question caught him off guard.

Renz stopped the car and glanced at her. Complicated emotions flashed through his eyes. He didn't know why but he felt uncertainties and sadness in her voice when she said those words.

'Did Arthur say something to her? Did he hurt Selene's feelings or somehow make her upset?' Renz pondered at that thought.

This was the first time Selene showed her concern about the impressions of his friends towards her. During this time, Selene had no idea about the displeasure his friends had towards her.

But Selene had already lived her life five years after so she already knew the truth. Renz's friends didn't like her in the first place. They even chose Micaela over her to be Renz's woman.

After his long silence, Renz finally responded to her. "Selene, just be yourself and they will eventually like you. Don't be nervous, alright? I will be with you during the party." Renz decided to console her with his comforting words.

Selene nodded her head with a faint smile on her face. At that certain moment, she had made up her mind.

In order to win Renz's heart, she would also try her best to get along with his friends. She avoided them before but now she would mingle with them and get their approval.

'I should also make sure to get on his friends' good side.' Selene thought to herself.
