Selene finally found Renz. However, she was surprised by the next thing she saw. He was not alone. He was talking to someone and that someone was a woman.

Of course, there was nothing wrong if Renz would exchange conversation with another woman. But it was another story if that woman in front of him was Micaela, her best friend!

Selene stayed rooted in her spot. She didn't know what she would do at that moment. Her heart was filled with complicated emotions. This was what she was afraid of, Renz meeting Micaela.

Why now? She hadn't even started yet in making Renz fall for her.

'Micaela… What are you doing here? Why are you here? Why are you talking to Renz?' Selene clenched her fists tightly.

She wanted to come over and interrupt the two. It looked like they were having a happy conversation as the two of them were smiling at each other. But she couldn't bring herself to step forward.

At that certain moment, the pain of their betrayal was all coming back to her. She felt like her heart was slowly drowning in pain, sorrow, and… hatred?

Did she really hate them? She thought she didn't hate them for what they have done before in her previous life? But how come she could feel the rage deep inside her heart?

No matter how hard she tried she didn't have enough courage to move her feet towards them. Instead, she wanted to run away. She couldn't bear to see this anymore.

Her mind was in shambles. There were lots of questions running in her mind right now.

Did Renz and Micaela already know each other even before they met during her grandmother's burial? Did they fall in love at first sight?

Seeing them together like this, Selene was reminded of the pain she thought she would never feel again in this new lifetime. But it seemed that fate was playing a game with her.

She tried her best to prevent the two from meeting each other. But fate had another plan for the three of them.

Selene thought she already had an upper hand since she already knew what happened in the future. And she now had the second chance to change their fate.

But how come Renz and Micaela had to see each other now? Would history repeat itself? Then what's the purpose of coming back if she would experience the same thing in her previous life?

She stood there with a lump in her throat, trying to fight back her tears but she failed miserably. Tears started to fall down her cheeks like raindrops.

Selene couldn't help but think negatively. Her hope felt like slowly collapsing again. It was caused by her insecurity considering that the wound created by their betrayal was still fresh in her heart and in her mind.

After a few minutes of being rooted in her spot, finally Selene was able to move. However, instead of approaching them, Selene turned around to leave as she could no longer bear to watch them.

Her eyes were already burned with tears. She didn't bother wiping them away from her face. She just continued walking without knowing where to go.

All she wanted was to run away from them as far as she could, hoping that it would help lessen the pain in her heart right now.

After a few minutes, she just found herself back inside the hall. Everyone was still having fun. Their happy cheers reverberated in the hall. Lively music was being played as the guests continued dancing and drinking at their hearts' content.

Inside that hall where everyone was having a good time, there was one person whose heart was filled with sadness and sorrow.

Selene saw the waiter serving different alcoholic drinks to the guests. Others said that drinking alcohol would help you forget and feel numb until you would no longer feel the pain.

Selene wanted to try if it was really effective. She approached one waiter and asked for one bottle of tequila. The waiter immediately gave her request.

After Selene got what she needed, she went out of the hall once again to find a quiet place where she could be alone.

Meanwhile, Renz had done talking to Micaela. They didn't know each other yet when the two of them met in the hallway.

Micaela was in a hurry to meet someone so she didn't notice Renz. She almost fell on the floor when she bumped into him. Fortunately, Renz was quick enough to catch her.

Both of them apologized to each other. They had a short conversation, introducing themselves. It seemed that Micaela was lost so she asked Renz for the direction.

The De La Sierra Hotel was very big and it was her first time coming there so she got lost. If not for Mr. M's demands she wouldn't go there in a hurry.

After receiving instructions from Renz, Micaela said goodbye since she couldn't afford to be late with her appointment with Mr. M, or else she would receive punishment from him.

After they got separated, Renz decided to go back inside the hall. He lost track of time. He was worried that he made Selene wait for too long.

But the moment he entered the venue, there was no sign of Selene. He tried to find her in the middle of the crowd but she was nowhere to be found.

He tried calling her phone but it turned out she left it in her bag. Renz started to get worried about her. He asked his friends if they saw Selene but no one could tell where she was.

"Maybe she went home already and didn't tell you," Meghan said to Renz.

But Renz rejected that idea. "She's still here. Her bag and her phone are here." Renz pointed his finger at Selene's bag that was resting on her seat.

Samantha got worried as well when Selene suddenly disappeared.

"Meghan! This is your fault!"

Renz frowned when he heard that. "What do you mean, Samantha?"

"Don't listen to her Renz." Meghan butted in. "Why are you blaming me, Samantha? Selene is always acting childish. See, she disappeared without telling us to make us worry. Don't fall on her tricks."

Renz's expression darkened when he heard Meghan insulting Selene.

"Stop it, Meghan. Who gives you the right to talk like that about Selene?" Renz said with his stern cold voice.

Meghan, Arthur, Declan, and Noel were rendered speechless. This was the first time Renz got angry after hearing words of insult against Selene. Before he would just remain silent and ignore them.

Renz turned to Samantha. "Sam, tell me. What happened here while I was not around?"

Meghan glared at Samantha, giving her a warning look. She wanted her to keep her mouth shut. But Samantha just ignored her.

Samantha sighed deeply before telling Renz everything that happened during their game.

"Meghan told Selene that the two of you had kissed just recently when we hung out together. She said both of you were drunk at that time that's why it happened."

Renz slammed his eyes shut while gritting his teeth. He tried to calm himself first as he didn't want to create a scene in the hall.

"That thing never happened! We will talk about this later, Meghan. For now, my priority is to find Selene."
