After several seconds of being in trance, Renz's parents finally reacted.

"Of course, we will support you on this decision!" Jasmine said with certainty in her voice.

"You are both at the right age to marry. We will be glad to see you finally tie the knot," Maynard also commented

"But, is it true that my friend, Elysa, is sick? That piece of news got me more shocked, to be honest." Grandpa Ivan was saddened by that bad news.

Selene and Renz nodded their heads to confirm it. The atmosphere in the living room suddenly became gloomy.

They knew how hard it would be for Selene. She already lost her parents at an early age. And now, Selene's grandmother was sick.

Renz brought up the topic of their wedding to lighten the atmosphere. They needed to cheer up or else, Selene would become sadder seeing their expressions.

"Mom, Dad, grandpa… Selene and I want our wedding to be simple and exclusive. We are only planning to invite those people close to our families."

"Hmm, okay, son. If that's what you want, we will not oppose you. I can recommend a close friend of mine to become your wedding planner. Your friend Samantha can also make wedding dress designs for Selene," Jasmine said enthusiastically.

"Okay, Mom. I will talk to Samantha regarding this. I think she will be happy to design a wedding dress for Selene," Renz promptly responded to his mother.

Renz: "Thanks, grandpa."

The atmosphere in the living room changed in an instant when they started to talk about the wedding preparations.

Grandpa Ivan excused himself in the middle of their conversation. He decided to visit his friend, Grandma Elysa. He wanted to see her now and check her condition. He was so worried about her.

Selene felt grateful to Grandpa Ivan. Even in her previous life, Grandpa Ivan was always visiting Grandma Elysa.

He was one of the closest people to Grandma Elysa. Just like Selene, Grandpa Ivan was devastated when his friend died.

After talking to Renz's parents, Selene decided to go home. Renz accompanied her, dropping her at home. While they were on their way, Selene and Renz got to talk to each other.

"Renz…" Selene softly called his name.

"Hmm?" Renz glanced at her for a few seconds before moving his gaze back on the road.

"Are you sure about this arranged marriage?" Selene took her courage and asked him

Renz was not able to respond right away.

"Will you not regret it? What if you find a girl and fall for her after.our marriage? Will you ask me for divorce?" Selene could no longer keep this concern. She finally mentioned it to Renz.

Renz stopped the car after hearing that question. He parked it on the side of the road before averting his gaze to Selene. He could see the uncertainties in Selene's brown eyes.

Selene met his eyes. She was anticipating his answer. Renz, on the other hand, was looking at her intently, his eyes roaming around her lovely face and stopped at her lips.

He couldn't find the right answer to Selene's question. But he wanted to try, giving their relationship the chance to grow. He thought love would eventually develop as long as they were together.

At that certain moment, Renz had the urge to kiss her lips. He wanted to assess his feelings by kissing her.

'Can I do it? Can I kiss her? I wonder what I will feel while kissing her. Should I kiss her now to find out?' Renz was asking himself, still staring at her lips.

Meanwhile, Selene's heart was now having an irregular beating because of Renz's intense gaze. She didn't know what was running on his mind right now.

Renz already unbuckled his seatbelt. He leaned over and slowly moved his face to Selene, inching closer and closer to hers.

Selene felt very nervous seeing Renz's face getting closer to hers. She didn't know what to do. She just remained still on her seat, unmoving.

Her mind gave her a signal that Renz was planning to kiss her but part of her didn't want to assume things or else, she would just be disappointed in the end.

'Is he really going to kiss me? Will I have my first kiss now with Renz?' Selene asked herself while holding her breath.

When their faces and lips were just inches apart, both Selene and Renz closed their eyes. They just wanted to go with the flow.

Their lips were almost touching each other. She could already feel Renz's breath fanning her face. He smelled like mint, very fresh.

They were about to kiss when suddenly a memory popped up in Selene's mind that caused her to jolt in her seat, unintentionally pushing Renz away from her. She broke the moment, making the atmosphere so awkward between them.

'Damn, Selene! You ruined it! You ruined everything! Are you insane?' Selene scolded herself inwardly. She looked at Renz apologetically while biting her lips.

Renz, on the other hand, didn't know what to say. His cheeks became red as he blushed. He felt a little bit embarrassed because of the interrupted kiss. He wondered if he scared Selene because of his sudden action.

Selene: "I'm sorry!"

Renz: "I'm sorry…"

Both of them apologized to each other. Renz just chuckled and decided to crack some jokes to lighten the atmosphere.

"Don't get mad, Selene. I just want to practice in advance for our upcoming wedding. Besides, you are very serious with your question. I didn't know how to answer you. Please forgive me."

"No, it's fine. I'm sorry… I ruined the moment… I~" Selene didn't know how to redeem herself.

She didn't mean to push or stop Renz from kissing her. It's just that she was surprised when she saw herself kissing someone on the rooftop. A random memory just popping out of the blue.

Her memory was vague that she failed to recognize the person. But she knew that the man was not Renz because of his hair color.

She had no idea who the guy was. She was not sure if it was just her imagination or it really happened to her.

She felt so strange. Her heart raced even faster because of that memory, not because of Renz.

'Sh*t! What is happening in my brain! Am I that desperate to have that first kiss? Renz and I almost kissed. It's my fault. Sigh! I ruined it!' Selene felt like crying. She was blaming herself for the interruption of their first kiss.
