Selene accepted the folder and scanned the documents in front of Eros. There was still a gleam of amusement in her brown eyes.

She was surprised to know that Eros was a nurse… a registered nurse? But how come? She thought he was still studying at De La Carmel University.

But now, she was seeing his license, his diploma, experience, and other necessary documents showing his qualifications as a certified registered nurse.

"Wait... Is this true? I thought you were still studying? How did you end up being a nurse? You should be working as a nurse already? What are you doing at De La Carmel University?" Selene asked him confusedly.

"Selene, if you don't know, I am an all-around guy who can do lots of things."

Eros lifted his finger one after another as he enumerated to her the things he could do for her.

"I can be your bodyguard who can protect you. I can be your Chef who can cook your favorite food. I can be your nurse who can take care of you. I can be your driver who can drive you anywhere." Eros paused for a moment, thinking about the other things.

"I can also be your boyfriend who can love you wholeheartedly," Eros said while looking at Selene intently.

Selene: "..."

"So what are you waiting for? You can keep me all yours… I can be your servant," Eros winked at her after saying those words. He sounded joking but deep inside he meant it.

Selene narrowed her eyes at Eros. She was now convinced that Eros aka Gabriel was definitely shameless and a certified simp!

"Is this how you sell yourself to your employers?" Selene asked him in disbelief.

"No. I am only selling myself to you," Eros said matter-of-factly. "So wanna take it or leave it?"

Selene was rendered speechless. She didn't know whether to hit Eros or not.

"Seriously, Gab? Because of the other words you said to me, I didn't know if you were just kidding or not. Now, I am in doubt if I should take you and your application," Selene sighed deeply while shaking her head.

But Eros's face had become serious now. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to sound like I am just joking. Selene, I just want you to know that I am serious. I really mean it. Can you give me a chance? I want to take care of your grandma."

Selene was still hesitant to accept Eros. "But you still have a task. You can't focus on doing two things at the same time. We are still trying to find out who is the culprit who wants to harm Samantha, remember?"

"Besides, how about your studies? I thought you were still attending college? What are you doing at De La Carmel University?"

"I am a part-time school nurse of De La Carmel University. I'm sorry if I haven't told you about this. But I can take care of your grandma. You said that I only need to help you protect Samantha for two weeks right? I can be your grandma's private nurse after two weeks."

Selene thought that Gabriel had a point. If it was still the same occurrence in her previous life then Samantha's death would happen soon.

They just had to keep her safe for that duration of time, after that they wouldn't know what would happen next. Samantha hiring a personal bodyguard was also a great help in reducing the risk. Someone would be by her side, protecting her.

Selene just hoped that nothing would go wrong in the week to come. She would also become busy with her wedding preparation.

She glanced at Eros once again, still not giving him a final answer. Seeing the sincerity in his blue eyes and the genuine concern he had for her grandma, Selene had the urge to say yes and trust him.

"Gabriel, before I give my final decision, I wanna ask you one thing. Why are you doing this? I mean... Why do you want to do this?"

Eros fell silent for a few moments, just looking at her with an unreadable expression. Selene was waiting for his reply while assessing her feelings.

She could feel that Gabriel was a good guy and she couldn't think that he was just doing this for he had an ulterior motive.

'Why am I trusting him this easily? Despite being betrayed by my fiancee and my best friend, why is it that Gabriel can easily earn my trust in just a short period of time?'

'I should be wary of people around me. I already experienced being betrayed by the people whom I trusted most. I couldn't explain what's in him that makes me want to rely and depend on him?'

'Ahem, I am sure it's not just because of his good looks!' Selene defended herself.

Selene was still lost in her own thoughts when suddenly she heard a reply coming from Eros.

"Because of you, Selene. I wanna do this because of you."

Selene: "..."

And once again, Selene was at a loss for words after hearing that answer from Eros. This time… he was not laughing nor putting on a cheeky smile on his handsome face.

He was looking at her with his blue eyes filled with tenderness and… she couldn't name it. It seemed like his intense gaze was telling her ~ 'Because you are special to me'.

She tried to open her mouth and say something only to close it again as her mind couldn't think of the right words to say to him at that certain moment. She was overwhelmed by him.

'What's happening to me? Why do I feel like there are butterflies in my stomach? Am I losing my mind just because of those simple words from him? Come on, Selene! Say something. Don't embarrass yourself.' Selene scolded herself inwardly.

After calming her emotions, Selene finally found her voice to respond to Eros. And do you know what her reply was?

Well, it was also a simple word.
