Three days had passed since the day Selene agreed and accepted Eros to become her grandmother's private nurse.

Then she became busy working with Renz on the preparations for their wedding. She almost missed attending her class every day but Selene didn't mind it.

She already attended those classes in her previous life. All she needed to do was to pass her final exams and her concerns about her studies would be solved.

She was focusing on the important aspects of her life right now: Taking care of her grandmother and Preparing for her upcoming wedding.

Eros was not leaving her side, either as her angel cupid or her human friend, Gabriel. He was always supporting and assisting Selene. He would just suddenly disappear when Renz was around.

Renz hadn't met Gabriel yet. But he noticed that Selene was always mentioning his name. In her previous life, Selene would always mention Micaela to Renz but in this lifetime, she never talked about Micaela in front of Renz.

Renz's friends also learned the news about his upcoming wedding with Selene next month. Of course, they had different reactions. Some of his friends were happy but there were two people who didn't like it~ Arthur and Meghan.

But aside from their close friends, there was another person who learned about the wedding. Mr. M immediately summoned Micaela to his private villa as soon as he heard the news.

"Why did you ask me to be here?" Micaela asked Mr. M with her annoyed expression.

Mr. M was in his veranda, sitting leisurely on his rattan chair as he enjoyed his tea-time. Micaela sat down on the opposite chair, facing Mr. M.

Mr. M glanced at her with a disappointed look on his face. It looked like he was in a foul mood today. Micaela regretted being rude to him as soon as she arrived.

She forgot that Mr. M could be so frightening when he was mad and furious.

"What's wrong?" Micaela lowered her voice. She hid her annoyance. She didn't want to anger a monster like him.

"Your connection is becoming useless, Micaela. I bet everyone already knew about Selene's wedding except you. Because if you knew you would definitely report it to me, am I right?"

Micaela was taken aback when she heard that. Mr. M was right. She hadn't heard about Selene's wedding. She couldn't reach her for the past few days as if Selene was intentionally avoiding her.

"Is that true?" Micaela asked him in disbelief.

"Yes. Her fiancee's friends are talking about their wedding. What are you doing these days? Are you slacking off? You should be monitoring her every movement." Mr. M started to rant at her.

"What can I do? Selene is avoiding me. How can she hide this from me? I am her best friend!" Micaela felt betrayed after knowing the truth.

Mr. M just laughed dryly. "Maybe you did something that upset her, didn't you?"

"Of course not! I'm always good to her!"

"What if she is already suspecting you of monitoring her? Did you make it so obvious? I also heard that she is visiting Samantha more often. She might have already told her that you were with a guy…" Mr. M frowned at that thought.

"No way. Samantha already promised me that she would never mention it to Selene."

"Hmm… is that so? How can you be so sure that she will never tell her?" Mr. M asked her, feeling doubtful.

Micaela just remained silent as she was not sure about that as well.

"I think you need to catch her attention again. Confront her. You might have done something that you didn't realize," Mr. M suggested to Micaela.

"Okay! Then can I tell her about you? So that she will not suspect me even if Samantha mentions anything about us. Samantha thought you were my boyfriend. But I told Selene that I didn't have a boyfriend."

Mr. M paused for a moment, taking his time to decide. After a while, he thought of a better scenario that would be more beneficial for the two of them.

"Okay. Tell her you are heartbroken because of me to get her sympathy. With that, Samantha will no longer think that we are still in a relationship," Mr. M suggested.

"I can approach Samantha and you can also approach Selene's fiancee. I think it's time for you to meet Renz Chuo," he added, looking at Micaela meaningfully.

Micaela had mixed emotions after hearing this idea. "What do you mean by that?"

"You already know what I mean. If they unite in marriage the Chou and Anderson families will dominate the business world once again. We should stop this marriage, that's our next goal."

"Can you understand now?" Mr. M said with a hint of sarcasm in his voice. He hated to see Micaela's hesitation.

"If you want revenge, Micaela, then it's better to set your mindset straight now. It is not the time to pity someone. Don't tell me you are hesitating because you already considered Selene as your friend?"

"Are you being carried away by your FAKE role, Micaela?" Mr. M emphasized those words to her.

Micaela had no words to refute that. She could only clench her fists and glared at him.

Mr. M stood up to approach her. Upon reaching her spot, he held her chin, making her gaze up to him.

"Are you backing down now, Micaela? Just tell me. I don't need someone who might stab me at the back just because of her petty emotions." Mr. M was warning her. He was now showing his fangs to Micaela.

Micaela could only nod her head in obedience. "I know. I am not backing down. We already planned this for so long. I will not waste it and put our efforts into vain."

Mr. M smirked triumphantly after hearing her response. That's all he needed to hear from her.

Without saying another word, Mr. M sealed her lips with a hungry kiss. He kissed her hard as if he was punishing her for making him upset a while ago.
