"Renz…"

Renz and Micaela heard that faint voice.

"Micaela? What is the meaning of this?"

As if her voice was a wake-up call, extinguishing the flame of desire within Renz, he stopped and looked up only to see Selene standing beside the bed.

"Selene…" Renz mumbled anxiously.

There was a look of pain and disbelief in Selene's eyes. He could see them through the faint light coming from the lampshade.

Micaela bit her lower lip as she froze in Renz's lap. She couldn't turn around, afraid to meet Selene's gaze.

"How could you both do this to me?" Selene questioned them with her trembling voice.

Renz immediately pulled his thing out of Micaela's core. He pushed her aside as he tried to cover his private part.

Selene turned around with her eyes burned with tears. She came out of the room in a hurry.

"Selene, wait!" Renz dashed out to follow Selene.

He was able to catch up with her in the hallway. Renz grabbed her elbow to stop her. When Selene faced him, she was already shedding tears.

*Pak!*

Selene slapped Renz on his right cheek.

"You betrayed me, Renz! With my best friend! You f*cked her just a few days before our wedding? What am I to you? Am I not enough?!"

Selene started punching Renz. He could tell that Selene was hurting and he didn't know what to say.

He couldn't deny the fact that he betrayed her. Renz could only grab Selene and hug her tight. He was afraid that once he let go he would lose her forever.

"I'm sorry, Selene. I'm sorry! Please give me a chance!" Renz begged her.

But Selene pushed him away from her.

"No, Renz! No more second chances. We are over. No wedding will happen. I am now letting you go," Selene said firmly.

"No, Selene, please. Listen to me. I still want to marry you."

Selene wiped her tears and smiled bitterly.

"I have seen it with my own eyes. No more excuses, Renz."

After saying that, Selene turned around, running away from him. But Renz refused to give up. If he needed to kneel in front of her he would do it.

He also ran, chasing after Selene. She noticed that he was still following her.

"Go away, Renz! Go away!"

Selene continued running until she came out of the resort, reaching the road.

"Selene, wait! Stop running! Let's talk!"

Renz was also near her spot. But Selene didn't allow him to get near her so she continued running.

But as she crossed the road, Selene didn't notice the big truck coming her way. Renz tried to warn her but it's too late.

"Selene! Watch out!"

They heard the honking sound of the truck but it was too late to stop. The truck hit Selene even after the driver tried to step on the brake.

"SELENE, NO!!!"

*Crash!*

*Thud! Thud!*

Selene's body was thrown away from the impact. Renz watched her in horror.

"Selene!" He kept calling her name as he ran towards her.

Renz's whole being was covered with fear and anxiety as he saw Selene bathing in her own blood.

"Selene, please hang on…" Renz mumbled as he gathered her in his arms.

He couldn't explain why but this scene felt like it already happened before. His heart was aching in unimaginable pain seeing Selene.

He needed to find help or else, Selene might die. He peered at his surroundings. The driver of the truck came to approach them.

"Please call the ambulance!" Renz screamed at the man.

The man nodded and picked up his phone to dial the emergency hotline.

Renz moved his gaze back to Selene. His heart was pounding so hard. He was so afraid right now. He was blaming himself.

"This is my fault! This is my fault!" Renz started crying. His tears fell like raindrops.

For some unknown reason, Renz saw a vision as if it was a Deja Vu. Their surroundings suddenly changed.

When he looked down, he saw Selene smiling at him.

"I Love you… Renz," she mumbled weakly, her voice was low but Renz still managed to hear it.

"Selene, please hang on. Don't leave. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." Renz continued apologizing to Selene.

Renz felt like his vision was becoming blurry. Then he heard voices resounding in his ears.

{ "Selene! Selene! NO… PLEASE WAKE UP… You can't die. Please, you can't die!" }

Renz could tell that this was his voice. Then he heard another one.

{ "I'm sorry sir… she's gone." }

Renz didn't know what was happening. When he moved his gaze back to Selene, she was no longer in his arms.

Renz's eyes widened in horror. He stood up, looking around his surroundings.

"Selene! Selene! Selene! Where are you?!! Selene!" Renz felt he was going crazy. He just continued calling her name.

Then he saw a black shadow standing just a few steps away from him.

"You betrayed Selene! This is your fault! You are the one who killed her! You broke your promise! You didn't protect her!"

The voice was deep and frightening. Renz could hear the hatred and anger in that voice.

Renz fell on his knees, covering his ears. He didn't know what to do!

'What is happening? Where is Selene? Is she alright? Did she die?'

"No! NO! NO!!!!"

"Renz! Renz! Renz!"

"Wake up, Renz!" Selene said with her worried voice. She was shaking Renz's body as she tried to wake him up.

She woke up when she heard Renz calling her name. He was talking in his sleep.

After a while, Renz finally opened his eyes and Selene's beautiful face greeted his sight.

Renz immediately sat up straight. He cupped Selene's face, then he scanned her head and body. He felt relieved when he didn't see any blood.

Then he grabbed her, engulfing her in his arms. He felt glad nothing bad happened to Selene.

Selene was a little bit confused but she guessed Renz had a nightmare. She saw the fear in his eyes a while ago. And now he was hugging her tightly.
