Renz continued pumping Grandma Elysa's heart while Selene was crying on the side. She didn't know what to do.

Eros came over to support Selene. Azrael peered at his surroundings but didn't see any grim reapers.

'What is happening here? If it's her time, there should be someone waiting for her,' Azrael thought to himself before moving his gaze back to Grandma Elysa.

"We should bring her to the hospital now!" Renz's grandfather said with his worried voice.

It did not take long when a doctor from the group approached them. She checked Grandma Elysa's vitals. Just like Renz, she didn't feel any pulse, no heartbeat, and no breathing as well.

They continued applying CPR but it's too late. They tried their best to revive her but it's too late. Grandma Elysa was gone.

"No! No!!! Grandma, please! Wake up! Don't leave me like this! Grandma!" Selene screamed while crying hard.

She couldn't accept it. She knew that this would happen but she was not yet prepared for this.

Everything happened too fast. Her grandmother was just hugging her and smiling at her a few minutes ago. How could she die suddenly?

Selene refused to believe this. Because of emotional pain, Selene fainted. Fortunately, Eros was there beside her.

Everyone was shaken witnessing this. This was supposed to be a happy occasion but it ended up tragically. Selene and Renz couldn't continue the wedding.

Even Micaela and Mr. M didn't expect this turn of events. They never calculated that this was going to happen.

Selene was brought to the hospital. Grandma Elysa's body was also brought there in the morgue.

Eros stayed outside her ward, waiting for Selene to wake up. Renz was inside, watching over Selene.

There was a gloomy atmosphere surrounding them. Who would have thought that this would happen today?

Life was unpredictable. In just a blink of an eye, it could be taken from you. Eros was so worried about Selene. She would be devastated once she woke up.

Azrael approached Eros.

"Eros, something strange is happening right now."

Eros gazed up upon hearing Azrael.

"What do you mean?"

"No grim reaper came to fetch Grandma Elysa's soul."

Eros's eyes widened when he learned that. He just realized it now. Azrael was right. He didn't see any sign of grim reapers, that's why they didn't know that Grandma Elysa was already dying.

"One more thing, Eros. I didn't see her soul leaving her body!"

"What? How could that be possible?" Eros asked him in disbelief.

"I have no idea as well. I think I should go back to the Netherworld and find out why this phenomenon happened," Azrael said.

"Are you going to report this to Zaki?" Eros asked him curiously.

"Yes, I have to. I don't know any explanation for this. I think Zaki is the only one who knows the reason for this absurd phenomenon."

Eros nodded his head. "Take care on your way back to the Netherworld."

"Can you also check Grandma Elysa's body? Please monitor her for a while. I'm leaving now."

Azrael turned to leave right away. Eros glanced at the door of Selene's ward. He was reluctant to leave but since Renz was inside her ward, Eros couldn't stay inside.

Eros decided to see Grandma Elysa's body. However, before he arrived, someone was already there.

The dark soul appeared in front of Grandma Elysa's lifeless body. He extended his hands, placing them just above Grandma Elysa's chest.

It did not take long when something came out of her body. It was a white light ray, being absorbed by the dark soul's palm. That was Grandma Elysa's soul essence.

When the dark soul was done, he sensed that someone was coming into that place. That was the time Eros came inside to see Grandma Elysa. The dark soul hid so that Eros would not see his presence.

Eros paused on his track. His face was covered by complicated emotions. He had to admit that he was also affected by Grandma Elysa's death.

He had been taking care of her. Grandma Elysa was so kind and gentle to him. They couldn't change her fate. She would eventually die.

But he tried his best so that Grandma Elysa would not feel any pain because of her illness.

Eros's heart clenched in sadness and pain. He was not supposed to feel this but he already became attached to Grandma Elysa. He was also hurting because he knew what Selene would feel about this.

Eros slowly traced his steps towards Grandma Elysa. She looked like she was just sleeping. Her face looked serene and peaceful.

He could tell that Grandma Elysa felt happy and peaceful at the last moment of her life. Selene fulfilled her last wish.

"Why did you leave her so soon? Grandma, how can I comfort her? I don't know if Selene will be alright after this."

Eros clenched his fists. Unknowingly, his tears fell from the corner of his eyes.

Death was inevitable but Grandma Elysa's death was too painful for them. In just a short period, Eros got to know her well.

She was so kind, loving, and optimistic. She loved Selene unconditionally. She was selfless. Eros admired Grandma Elysa.

Eros held Grandma Elysa's hand. Her warmth was gone. Her hand was already cold.

"Selene will miss your warmth, your embrace, and your smile. You are always giving her warmth with your love and care."

Eros could imagine the pain right now of losing someone you loved. This would be the most difficult time of Selene's life.

Eros stayed silent for a moment. He closed his eyes and prayed for Grandma Elysa's soul.

"Rest in peace, Grandma Elysa. Don't worry too much about Selene. I will do my best to comfort her and make her happy. I promise I will also protect her, just like how you protect her with your love," Eros had sworn to Grandma Elysa.

After staying by Grandma Elysa's side for several minutes, Eros decided to leave and check on Selene.

When Eros left, the dark soul came out of his hiding place. The Dark Soul watched Eros's retreating back.

"I feel more guilty now for hurting that angel. Thank you for looking out for Selene."
