Rebound: A 2nd Chance Chapter 203

Jason followed as a young man dressed in a lab coat lead him to a room. He opened the door for Jason and smiled "The doctor is ready for you."
Jason gave him a nod "Thanks" He then stepped into the room. He was surprised to see another familiar face sitting behind the monitor of a computer.
"Nice to see you again young man." Jason paused for a moment before rubbing his eyes and taking another look.
After seeing that he wasn't seeing things wrong he walked forward and stuck his hand out "Nice to see you again Dr. Patricia."
Patricia let out a giggle before gesturing to the chair in front of her desk "I told you last time that you could just call me Patricia. Take a seat Jason, make yourself comfortable."
Jason pulled the chair out a bit before taking a seat "I guess Kawhi must like getting his staff from Nike. First Brie now you.
Should I be expecting any other trainers or staff members from his camp to show up here?" Patricia simply smiled after hearing Jason's question.
"Kawhi is a champion and a born winner. He doesn't like to settle for anything less than the best. You should know that young man.
And what better place could you find to locate the best trainers, sports doctors, and nutritionists in the world than Nike?"
Jason nodded his head "I guess you have a point. I'm still surprised that you guys could work at Kawhi's camp.
I can't imagine that Nike is all that happy with sharing their best employees." Patricia looked at Jason straight in the eyes.
"Oh trust me they aren't. But the thing about being the best in your field is that you can make your own demands.
Nike tried to get me to sign a non compete agreement but I simply told them that I would turn down the employment offer.
There were plenty of other companies offering to hire me. Not to mention all the other private clients that were willing to hire me full time.
And so Nike had no choice but to give up on chaining me down if they wanted to gain my services."
Jason gave Patricia a thumbs up "You're a bad ass lady Patricia." She simply laughed again before pulling out a stack of papers from her desk.

"Hehe if you think I'm bad ass then you should talk to Brie some more. She might seem like a bit of an airhead but she's a lot sharper than you would think.
She's only twenty four but she already has her Master's and is currently working on her Doctorate. Nike tried to get her to sign a non compete agreement as well but she simply turned around and walked away.
They had to beg her to come back. She is one of the most sought after trainers in the world currently.
Alright, that's enough small talk. You've been through this before so you should know the drill. Strip down to your underwear and I'll start taking your measurements."
Jason nodded his head before taking off his clothes. A minute later and he was standing on a scale in nothing but his underwear.
Patricia let out another chuckle "Those are cute. Got tired of boring boxers?" Jason's face blushed slightly.
"My friend is really into anime. He gave these to me as a Christmas present." Patricia kept here eyes on the scale as she wrote some things down on her clipboard.
"No need to be shy. I think the kitty cats are very cute. Okay, so your current weight is 128 pounds (58.05kg)
Current height without shoes is 5'7 (1.7m) Now spread your arms open for me." Jason did as he was told.
Patricia then pulled out device from the pocket of her white lab coat that she then used to scan Jason from finger tip to finger tip.
"Current wingspan is 5'7 (1.7m) very nice. Surprisingly your wingspan has grown along with your height.
Looks like your dedication to proper nutrition and rest has shown some results. The last time I took your measurements your wingspan was shorter than your height."
'Instead of dedication to proper nutrition and rest its more like a dedication to using my cheat system.'
Jason joked inside his head. To others Jason's growth in height and wingspan might look like a side effect of his high nutrition diet.
But only Jason knew that these changes were mostly due to the system and all of its benefits. Patricia then proceeded to measure his hand size and leg length.
"Alright Jason, that's enough with the physical measurements. For the next part I will be recording your data as you perform some physical activities. Are you ready?"

Jason nodded his head "Whatever you need Doc. You want me to jump just say how high." Jason then put his clothes back on before following Patricia out of her office.
Patricia lead Jason to the weight room where Jason could see the other guys 'Looks like everyone else is done with getting their measurements taken.'
A section of the weight room was cleared out and set up with other pieces of equipment. One of which included a pole used to measure vertical jumping ability.
Jason walked over to the group "Sup guys" Kyle and the rest of the boys all welcomed Jason as they got ready for the next portion of the data collection.
Rudy was the first one to go. The scientist in the lab coat told him "Whenever you're ready Rudy. Remember to jump straight up.
No steps. This is to test your stand still vertical jump." Rudy nodded his head "Gotcha." He took a moment to concentrate.
After taking in a deep breathe Rudy bent his knees down before exploding back up with all the strength he could muster.
He stretched his hand up as far as he could as he knocked back the marked sticks attached to the pole.
The man in a lab coat walked over to Rudy "Good job Rudy. Now let's see.... Standing vertical jump: eighteen inches."
Rudy stuck his chest out as he held his head up high "Hahaha that was nothing. I could probably get it over twenty if I feel like it."
One by one all of the boys got their standing verticals measure. Monty and his boys all went one after the other.
Jig had the best results out of all the boys from Texas. His standing vertical was twenty inches. Monty was grinning from ear to ear as he hyped his boy up.
"Haha that's what I'm talkin bout dog. They don't make em like they do in Texas I tell you dat. We just built different."
Rudy couldn't help but bark back at him "Don't get so full of yourself Monty. It didn't work out that well for you last night."
Monty rolled his eyes at Rudy as he scoffed "Bruh, why the hell you keep bringin up the past. Soundin like a whole ass female over there.
Right now we talkin bout god given talent and ability. This the typa stuff that you born with. Workin out only gonna help you with so much."
Rudy responded "Oh yeah? Well lets see how long you can keep talking all that trash." The rest of the boys from Jason's group proceeded to get their standing vertical measured.
Alex tried his best but only managed to record a 15 inch standing vertical. Up next was 3D who barely managed to get 13 inches on his standing vertical.
Monty was laughing so hard that tears were beginning to form in the corner of his eyes "Hahaha! That fat ass could barley get his feet off the ground.
Ay yo someone hang a donut on the ceiling. That might actually get him to jump higher hahaha!" Rudy and the rest of the boys could feel their faces get hot after Monty's mocking.
Danilo was next as he got into position. He closed his eyes for a moment before leaping into the air "HUH!"
As his hand slapped the marked sticks back his head was filled with fury 'Let's see if you can still talk shit after this Monty!'
The scientist then went over to record the official results. He paused as the corner of his mouth twitched slightly.
"T-twenty two inches. Standing vertical jump is twenty two inches." Rudy ran up to Danilo and jumped on his back.
"Way to go man! Hahaha! I guess we still the ones on top. Cali in the house! Hahahah!" Jason walked over and high fived Danilo "Nice on Dlo."
Danilo smiled as he then shook Rudy off of his back "I was just warming up. If I wanted to I could probably get close to thirty hehe."
Jason just let out a small chuckle as he heard Danilo's bluff. He knew that Danilo was only saying that to get on Monty's nerves.
Monty rolled his eyes "Whatever, y'all just got lucky with that shit." Jason laughed "Oh yeah? You're up next Kyle. Go show them what you got."
Kyle looked at Jason with a determined expression on his face before nodding his head "Yeah" He then walked his way over to the measuring pole.

Conquest Of Mortem
*NOTE* This novel is a war of attrition. To say anything less is a disservice to its demand. While comparable to other such works as Ulysses or Moby Dick, each sentence in Conquest is an enemy to be tackled. Not in the ways of difficulty but in absurd density that wishes nothing more than to destroy what patience you may have. Do not tackle chapters as you would ordinary chapters in an ordinary book. Tackle each chapter as a book unto itself. A foe to be vanquished, a period of life to leave behind. Seek to be master of this work. Seek to overcome. For in its design is the willpower, and the perseverance, and the strength of someone who sought meaning in struggle. As I discovered these in times of ultimate desperation, so I hope for you to discover these things. This novel is a love letter to your trials. May you overcome them. May you master them. May you become conquerer.- SeedSagaA literary epic for logophiles, philosophers, and poets alike. A journey into zeitgeist, the impact of media on culture, and the endurance of morality against an onslaught of hatred. These vague descriptions do little to compact Conquest's density into a bite-size summary. They do however relate the basest themes found within. A plot, if such can be surmised, is strung thinly across multiple perspectives, weaving together these concepts into a seemingly distorted tapestry of indecipherable events. Inspired by early 20th century modernism, Conquest will challenge the reader, and provide critique on the medium upon which all great stories are derived. Further interpretation is up to you now; an explorer among a sea of words. Venture on and discover what lies ahead, in...CONQUEST OF MORTEM
