Rebound: A 2nd Chance Chapter 232

After hearing the guy say that Jason was stunned as the guy's statement had taken him by surprise. Everyone in the van was stunned as well.
'D-did he just say that we might be related?' After a moment Jason recovered from the shock as he pushed the door open and pulled the guy into the van.
Jason's usual face was aloof and didn't show much emotion. Although some people found it intimidating because of the fact that it made Jason hard to read he was still generally approachable.
However, the expression that was on his face at the moment could only be described as bone chillingly cold.
There even seemed to be a seething hatred or anger in his eyes that made his gaze ten times more intense than normal.
Jason glared at the guy "Don't say anything." The guy shivered as Jason's voice clearly carried his emotions. He nodded his head.
Jason then turned his head back to look at all of the guys "You guys didn't hear anything. Got it?" Monty and all of his boys nodded their heads as did Kyle and the other boys from their group.
Jason then turned his eyes to the front "Sorry about that Rob. Please get us back to the hotel. And I hope that you can forget about the last five minutes."
Rob gulped as he awkwardly chuckled "Hehe, forget about what? I came to pick you guys up and you all got into the van. As far as I can remember that's all that happened."
Jason nodded his head as he said his thanks one more time. Luckily both Jason and the surprise addition were both of the slim variety so they were able to squeeze in and fit in the van.
During the drive back Nate had wanted to strike up a conversation to try and break the ice and ease tensions a bit.
Unfortunately for him Jason kept looking at him from top to bottom with his intense gaze. Because of that he lost all his nerves.

What Nate didn't know was that Jason wasn't just mean mugging him out of anger. Jason was actually looking at him to get a closer look.
During the start of their first meeting things had escalated at a chaotic pace so Jason didn't even get to really see what the guy looked like.
Now that he was taking his time to look at him he noticed a couple of things 'He has the same thin eyebrows that dad has.
And his nose the same bridge and the same flat-ish shape. He has a pretty similar facial structure to dad too.
Damn, the more I look at him the more he looks like a younger version of dad.' The car ride was long and silent as no one dared to make any noise.
Finally after over an hour and a half of driving Rob pulled up to the front of the hotel as he then helped all of the boys get their things from the trunk of the van.
After walking through the front doors and into the lobby of the hotel Jason turned to the other boys "You guys go ahead and get dinner. We'll go up early. Don't worry about us."
He looked at Kyle "Let's go." He then turned to the new guy "You too." And with that the two of them walked with Jason as they made their way to their hotel room.

As Monty was walking with the other guys from Texas Stax leaned close in and whispered to him "Lookin at how Jason started buggin their must be some kind of drama.
And Jason's been a hot topic recently. If we talked to some media outlets we could prolly make some major bank Monty."
Monty sighed before turning to look at Stax "Get that idea out yo head bruh. As much as we like to clown each other and fuck around at the end ah the day we all hoopers.
We neva know how shit is gonna turn out. If one day Jaya gets drafted and becomes a big ass fuckin franchise level player, do you really want him to have a deep ass fuckin grudge with us?"

Stax stopped in his tracks as he looked at Monty with a surprised expression "Bruh, you talkin like you really think the dude is gonna make it to the league."
Monty shook his head "Where the hell you been the last few days Stax? Open yo eyes a bit and try to see what the fuck is goin on around you.
The dude took down Central Park and Golden Oaks with a bunch of dudes that he ain't neva played with before.
Even if he can't turn into a superstar with how hard the dude grinds and where he's at now he'll at least get a spot on a roster.
And even if the chances are slim for him to turn into a big time player the chance is still there. It ain't never hurt to play things safe so keep yo mouth shut aight?
The only ones in the van were us, Jaya's boys, and the driver. You seen how Jaya's boys are. They all ride or die by the looks of it.
Not to mention he seems to be pretty cool with the driver. Who you gon think Jaya gon blame first if this shit gets out?"
After hearing that Stax got quiet. Seeing his reaction Monty nodded his head before putting his arm over Stax's shoulder.
"Get those paper chasin thoughts outta yo head Stax. It ain't like our pockets is hurtin either. You gotta think about the bigger picture bro.
Set yo fishin line for the bigger catch. You can always chase after paper. But connections is harder to make."

After they reached their hotel room Kyle swiped his key and opened the door. Jason gave a nod as he motioned for the new guy to walk in first "Go."
Nate nodded his head before walking in. Nate was about 5'8 (1.72m) so he was only an inch (2.54cm) taller than Jason.
He took off his black coat and hanged it on the back of a chair. Underneath his coat was a black turtleneck which went well with his dark blue denim jeans.
His sides were cut short as the top was kept a bit longer and slicked back resembling a pompadour. The gold chain hanging from his neck really gave him a high class and elegant feel.
Jason motioned to a chair and Nate simply nodded his head as he took a seat. Jason stood in front of him with his arms crossed "What did you have to say?"
Nate gulped before trying his best to put on a friendly smile "Hehe from the way you reacted I'm guessing you already have a bit of an idea of what I'm going to say."
Jason didn't say anything as he simply nodded his head as a response. Nate pulled the neck of his turtleneck a bit as he felt a bit hot.
He then looked over at Kyle "If we're going to talk about this then you might want your friend to take a quick walk."
Jason immediately shook his head "This right here is my bro. Other than my parents he's one of the few people that I would call family.
Whatever you have to say you can say it in front of him." Nate froze up after hearing Jason say that. He also felt something sting his heart.
After a few seconds he rubbed his face with both of his hands before putting up another friendly smile "If that's what you want."
He then took a deep breathe before speaking again "Jason, I think we might be related. I think your dad is my uncle."
