Maximo felt that the way the almighty god viewed him changed. Fortunately, a while later it reverted back to normal.

Maximo wanted to swipe its nonexistent sweat on its forehead but remembered that it is not capable of doing so. Nevertheless, Maximo breathes out a sigh of relief.

As Maximo has already calmed down a little and is no longer gagging, Nile decided that they should continue their journey.

Nile hops on Maximo's back and sits at the comfortable saddle.

Nile and Maximo surveyed the hamlet, and they found out that the elderly zombie from earlier is the last one.

This hamlet only comprises a few houses, even fewer than Hamlet Palma where Nile had come from. This is rather normal, as the Ulhi Village usually housed farmers. In this day and age, the population of farmers could not compare to those higher paying jobs.

Nile and Maximo return to the National Road and continue their journey.

It was already approaching noon when Nile and Maximo reached the Village Hall of Ulhi.

Unlike the usual Village Hall of other villages, the Village Hall of Ulhi was made of a combination of wood and bamboo. It was also only two storeys tall, and its size was not even half of the Village Hall of Compud and Malibo.

The Village Hall was surrounded by towering trees. Not that many, but their shades and leaves did really help to make the surrounding air more clean and cooler.

Nile and Maximo swayed from the National Road to reach here.

Although Nile doubted if there were still zombies here, he still ultimately decided to come just to check.

Fortunately, Nile's hope was ignited when he heard a rustle coming from the back side of the Village Hall.

Whether it will be a zombie or a human survivor which Nile did not want to meet, Nile decided to go and check.

Nile glanced at his System Map, as expected, it did not project something that Nile is not aware of.

Nile holds the rope connecting to the bridle with his left hand, while his right hand is already holding the Katana of Liberation tightly.

Nile made Maximo walk slowly to avoid unnecessary noises. Maximo made a sharp turn on the corner of the Village Hall. There they saw a figure with its back facing them.

Maximo stops on his tracks. Maximo's nose twitched as he tried to sniff the air just like a dog.

Maximo and Nile observed the figure closely.

Its body was bent a little, it seems to be doing something on the table on its front. It was wearing a straw-hat, dirty long sleeves and black jogging pants. Based on its broad back, Nile could tell that it was a man.

Seeing that, Nile was disappointed a little. He thought that it was a zombie causing the rustle. Even if it was only a Half-Step Level One°, their side-trip here would not be wasted.

But now that it was a human survivor, his hopes of at least getting a slight increment of Apocalypse Point shattered.

Nile was preparing to get off from Maximo's back to greet the man on a straw-hat when Maximo suddenly retreated a little.

It made a ready-to-pounce posture, as it growled just like a dog. Although what came out from its mouth is a 'mooo'.

Seeing that, Nile became alerted. Maximo's behaviour right now, Nile saw it when they encountered the elderly zombie earlier.

Nile took a glance at the System Map. And indeed, a red dot is there representing the zombie on the front.

Maybe because the zombie 'heard' Maximo's 'mooo' or it realized that its ambush had failed, it turned its head to face Nile.

The zombie's ugly appearance did not make Nile flinch. He was already used to it after encountering different kinds of zombies since the day he transmigrated over

What made Nile feel a cringe was actually the thing inside the zombie's mouth.

The zombie's lower jaw no longer has any skin left on it. It was now all bones with a bit of flesh remaining on a few spots. Its lower teeth are exposed outside.

Inside its semi open mouth, a squirming maggot the size of an adult thumb could be seen. It wriggled itself inside the zombie's mouth as if searching for meat to feast on.

Nile spat on the side instantly after seeing it, the moment Nile saw that scene, it felt as if he was experiencing the same.

He felt that there was also a maggot inside his mouth.

Nile felt a shiver.

Fortunately, the moment Nile spit on the ground, the mask opened a hole to let the spit pass through.

On the zombie's back, at the table, Nile noticed a body lying there. Apparently, the straw-hat zombie is dissecting a human body there.

Maximo is using its front-left hoof to scratch on the ground, getting ready for a charge.

Nile patted Maximo's shoulders to calm the carabao a little.

Nile realized that the zombie had retained some of its memories before it got infected, just like the gay zombie and the kid zombie from before.

On the straw-hat zombie's case, on its right hand, it was holding a rusted scythe. The zombie has retained its farmer characteristics, the scythe that is used to mow grass is now being used as a weapon.

These kinds of zombies are rather strong compared to others at the same level. The straw-hat zombie that is capable of using a weapon is even more dangerous than the previous two zombies that Nile had met.

Nile watched the straw-hat zombie warily. Maximo also did the same as it also realized that the zombie on its front is a powerful one.

The straw-hat zombie eyed both Maximo and Nile. Like a predator eyeing a prey, the straw-hat zombie observes the both of them.

The surrounding suddenly turned silent. Even the winds stopped howling and the rustle of leaves calmed itself.

If a needle was dropped at this moment, with the heightened sense of Nile, the straw-hat zombie and even Maximo, they could definitely hear the needle dropping to the ground

At the back of the straw-hat zombie, the dismembered body has been chopped into pieces of different sizes of cubes.

At the head part, sticky black blood is rolling along with a ball-like object. The ball-like object rolled on the edge of the table as it dropped itself on the ground. The ball-like object is an eyeball coated with blood.

The moment the eyeball reached the ground, it bounced three times before it rolled on the ground.

The moment it stopped, as if it was the cue, Maximo bolstered and charged towards the straw-hat zombie.

Nile grip the rein on his left and the Katana of Liberation on his right hand.

The straw-hat zombie made a roar first before it also charged towards them madly.
