After killing the zombie, Nile and Maximo retreated towards the spot where Croco had pulled the huge bird.

The bird had the strength of a level two creature but because of its injuries, Croco was able to pull it along with him like an ordinary chicken.

At this moment, the bird was lying on the ground weakly. Its breathing was slow and it seems that it would faint anytime soon. Blood was oozing off its injured wings as well as some of the minor wounds around its body. The huge bird was pressed down by Croco making it unable to move even an inch.

Nile get off Maximo's back and went towards Croco and the bird.

He observed it and noticed that its talons were really extremely sharp. He already noticed it earlier when it was having a battle with the zombie but seeing it up close still made him gape in awe.

It may not be as strong as the Weapon of Change but the bird's talon was probably the sharpest mutated animal part he has come across so far. The horn and the fangs of the Red Hognose snake were also a level two mutated animal parts, but compared to the talons, Nile estimated the snake parts to be a level lower.

Upon closer inspection, Nile realized that the bird was actually an eagle. He didn't recognize it at first as it was huge and doesn't have the usual appearance of the eagle's he had seen on the internet during his previous life.

Thick and robust thighs, strong and muscular wings. A bald head and golden beak. Nile was now sure that it was really a mutated eagle.

The eagle saw Nile approaching and as fierce as it was before, it could only stare at him weakly right at the moment.

Screech!

It tried to screech to intimidate the approaching Nile but instead of a scary screech, what it produced was actually sounded like a door creaking due to rust it had accumulated for years.

Nile smiled at the eagle's behavior. He then browses through the System store to buy one earring of loyalty. After buying the earrings of loyalty he retrieved it from the Storage Space and played with it in his hand as he stared at the eagle lying beneath Croco's feet.

"Become one of my pets and I will save you! Refuse and you will become our snack later!" He said bluntly.

The eagle was already a level two creature so its intelligence must have also evolved along with its body. He was confident that the eagle would surely understand the meaning of what he had just said. However, just to be sure, he also instructed Croco to translate his words into something that could let the eagle understand.

The eagle was dazed for a second before its eyes gained clarity. It then stared at Nile before nodding its head slowly.

Along with it was a System prompt appearing inside Nile's mind.

A smirk surfaces on Nile's face under his mask. With this, he will have his third pet or battle companion. Not to mention, the eagle was also already a level two being just like him.

He didn't hesitate any longer and pressed the 'Y' button inside his head. With that, the earrings of loyalty then disappeared from his hand before it magically materializes on the eagle's foot.

"You can now release him Croc!" He said as he patted the back of the crocodile, Croco.

Croco immediately followed his order by lifting his feet away from the eagle's body.

Nile then uses the System function to heal the wounds of the eagle. As the eagle was already level twoz the cost was also more than doubled compared to the time when he healed Croc.

The healing cost him 10 Apocalypse points and the eagle's broken wings were not even healed completely yet. It still needs a day at most for it to be completely healed.

After the healing process that took not more than a minute, the eagle suddenly sprung up from the ground and opened its wings widely before producing a loud screech.

Pressed by the threat of becoming a snack, the eagle could only comply. However, after experiencing the miracle of being healed instantly, its previous reservation was gone in an instant and what replaced it was the feelings of reverence and worship.

Nile nodded his head upon seeing the gaze that the eagle was giving him. 'The earring of loyalty was really an op(overpowered) item. If only I don't need to feed them, I might really consider having an army of mutated animals at my command.'

Nile gestured for the eagle to tone down its voice as it might attract unwanted attention. The battle earlier had already created quite a commotion. He was extremely careful as unlike before, activating the sensor to detect enemies or people around him cost quite a lot.

"Alright, let's get out of here first!" He said as he turns around and hops towards Maximo's back.

"Go!"

He then urges Maximo to start galloping away from the scene. Croco followed behind them while the eagle who still have an injured wing could only hop onto the tree branches as it followed its new master.
